4차 산업혁명 시대의 기술 발전과 노동 환경 변화: 산업보건 관점에서의 고찰 (The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Changing World of Work: An Occupational Health Perspective)

  • The rapid advancement of technologies within the Fourth Industrial Revolution is expected to bring significant changes to the work environment across industries. While automation and digitalization not only enhance productivity but also health and safety, they also pose new health risks such as isolation, technostress, and musculoskeletal disorders. The rise of remote work and platform labor necessitates strengthening social protections for workers' health rights. To ensure that technological progress leads to better worker health, proactive and comprehensive occupational health policies are essential. Cultivating interdisciplinary expertise in occupational health professionals is also crucial. Industrial hygienists can play a pivotal role in assessing and managing the health impacts of technological changes, as well as bridging the gap between innovation and worker well-being.

임상실습 중인 간호학생의 손 위생 시점 동영상 실습교육의 효과 (Effect of Video Education on the Moment of Hand Hygiene among Nursing student in Clinical Practicum.)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 임상실습 중인 간호학생들에게 손 위생 시점에 관한 동영상 프로그램을 적용한 후 손 위생 시점지식과 수행을 검정하는 유사실험연구로 비동등성 대조군 전후 설계이다. 방법 : 2017년 3월 2일부터 6월 30일까지 3개 간호대학 92명의 학생들을 실험군 44명, 대조군 48명으로 나누어 자료를 수집했다. 결과 : 1) 손 위생 시점 동영상 실습교육프로그램 교육 후 손 위생 지식은 실험군이 대조군보다 높았다(t =6.30, p <.001). 2) 손 위생 시점 동영상 실습교육프로그램 교육 후, 손 위생 시점 지식은 실험군이 대조군보다 높았다(t =6.34, p <.001). 3) 손 위생 시점 동영상 실습교육프로그램 교육 후, 손 위생 수행은 실험군이 대조군보다 높았다(t =3.82, p <.001). 4) 손 위생 시점에 관한 지식과 손 위생 수행은 상관관계가 있었다(r =.458, p <.001). 결론 : 손 위생 시점 동영상 교육 프로그램은 손 위생 시점에 대한 지식과 손 위생 수행 향상에 효과적인 중재임을 알 수 있었다.

스티렌 취급근로자의 염색체이상연구 (Chromosome Aberrations of Styrene Exposed Workers)

  • We analyzed sytrene concentrations in air and in blood, mandelic acid in urine, and chromosome aberrations in peripheral lymphocytes of twenty one styrene-exposed workers in two reinforced plastic factories. In addition, in vitro testing for chromosome aberration was carried out. The dose-dependent clastogenicity of styrene was confirmed in the cultured Chinese hamster lung cell(CHL) with metabolic activation. The environmental styrene concentrations and urinary mandelic acid levels of analyzed subjects were different in two plants examined, but the exposure levels in most workers examined were lower than the permissible exposure levels. Chromosome aberrations of the styrene exposed workers showed no increase in the percentage of aberrant cells as compared with the control group. No correlation was found between the exposure levels and the frequencies of chromosome aberrations in workers.

일부 산업장 근로자의 치경부마모증에 관한 연구 (A study on the cervical abrasion in some industrial workers)

  • Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate stepwise regression analysis on cervical abrasion & general characteristics, subjective oral health perception, habit related to oral health, and oral symptom. Methods : The study subjects were 2,158 workers in 23 industrial work places located in Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province from June 1 to July 1, 2012. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. Results : 1. The cervical abrasion rate was high in men and older age group. 2. The cervical abrasion rate was high in a case of having not received scaling for the past one year. 3. The cervical abrasion rate was high in frequent tooth brushing. 4. The cervical abrasion rate was high in group having no bleeding in tooth and the gum. 5. The cervical abrasion rate was high in group having the cold symptom in teeth. 6. Excluding gum pain and bleeding, factors affecting tooth abrasion were gender, age, scaling over the past year, frequency of brushing a day and tooth sensitivity when cold food was ingested. 7. Gender and tooth sensitivity turned out to have negative(-) effect. age, scaling over the past year and frequency of brushing a day turned out to have positive(+) effect. Conclusions : Through this study, the best prevention method of cervical abrason is effective tooth brushing education and regular dental check up.

앤더슨 모형을 적용한 산업체 근로자 직업유형에 따른 구강보건행위와 치과이용에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Influencing factors on oral health behavior and dental clinic use in industrial workers by Andersen model)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the oral health and oral health beliefs in industrial workers and to analyze the influencing factors on dental health care utilization. Methods: The subjects were 280 adults from 16 to 64 years old in Seoul and Gyeonggi from June 20 to July 31, 2014, A self-reported questionnaire was completed after receiving informed consent. The independent variables consisted of predisposing, enabling, and need factors. The predisposing factors included gender, age, residence area, number of family. The enabling variables included monthly income, education, occupation, type of employment. The need factors included subjective oral health recognition and oral health belief model. These three variables had a direct and indirect influence on dental clinic use. The types of occupation were classified into desk duties, merchandizing and service duties technology and others by KSCO-6. Results: The relating factors to dental health care utilization were sex, oral health beliefs perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and self-efficacy. Female tended to have the higher oral health beliefs perceived benefits, perceived barriers(p<0.01), self-efficacy(p<0.05). Conclusions: Those who received frequent oral examination and health instruction tended to have a favorable impact on maintenance of oral health status and improvement in quality of life.

치과보철물장착자의 구강위생관리용품사용에 관한 교육 실태 (State of Education on the Use of Oral Hygiene Supplies among Dental Prosthesis Mounted)

  • 본 연구는 치과보철물장착자의 구강위생관리 교육경험 실태를 파악하고자 2011년 3월부터 6월까지 서울과 경기도에 거주하고 있는 18세 이상에서 65세 미만의 성인 267명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, SPSS 11.5 program을 이용하여 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 구강위생관리용품사용에 관한 교육 실태에서 미혼자는 기혼자 보다 구강위생용품사용은 치아건강에 좋다고 인식하였고, 18-39세가 40-64세 보다 구강위생용품사용은 치아 건강에 좋고, 반드시 사용해야한다고 인식하였다. 구강위생용품사용을 사용하고 있는 경우는 사용하지 않는 경우 보다 구강위생용품사용은 치아건강에 좋다, 반드시 사용해야 한다고 인식하였고, 보철물 닦는 방법과 구강위생용품 선정방법에서 교육만족도가 높았다. 이상의 결과에서 치과보철물장착자의 구강위생관리용품에 대한 인식은 높았으나 교육만족도는 이보다 낮게 나타난 결과로 치과의료기관에서는 치과보철물장착자를 대상으로 한 보다 실질적인 환자 교육시스템이 운영되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.

산업재해로 인한 직.간접 손실비용 산출 프로그램 개발 (Development of Program for Estimation of Direct or Indirect Loss Cost Due to Industrial Disaster)

  • In this study the main elements which can be commonly adopted to every kind of business are selected through the research, case-study, benchmarking common items of a direct or indirect loss cost. As a result of the development of a program for evaluating loss cost a case or accumulated data can be easily managed through estimating the direct and indirect loss cost as tell as the ratio between directs and indirect cost. The program is fit to case-study and we are compared direct cost with indirect cost. Automatically, this program showed ratio between directs and indirect cost for style, scale of accident The person in charge of safety and hygiene can have better chances to get into management also the owner or the CEO can recognize the importance of management of safety and hygiene. So this can guide the company to invest in a prevention of disaster and to adopt a safety and hygiene management promote the prevention activity of a company, and finally decrease the accident rate in the country.

국내 작업환경 측정결과 신뢰성 향상을 위한 제도 고찰 (A Review of a System for Improving the Reliability of Domestic Measurement Results regarding the Work Environment)

  • Objectives: Improvement of the reliability of work environment measurement results is one of the principal subjects to be resolved in the field of industrial hygiene. Thus, this study was conducted in order to review domestic programs for enhancing the reliability of work environment measurement results and propose a more efficient management plan for workplace monitoring. Materials and Methods: The current domestic programs reviewed in this study are the quality control system and evaluation system for industrial hygiene laboratories, the reliability system accompanied by KOSHA (the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency), the system of permissible exposure limits and observed inspection system for permissible exposure limits. Their contents and data were analyzed by reviewing articles, reports, and guidelines related to reliability improvement for work environment measurement results. Results: As a result of the literature review, all the domestic programs investigated in this study had both merits and demerits in terms of considering the reliability of work environment measurement results. In particular, the fact that preliminary notification is provided to the head of a workplace before implementation would be an obstacle for elevating the reliability of work environment measurement results. Conclusions: Based on the review results obtained from this study, it is proposed that on-site measurement without preliminary notification should be considered for a more efficient inspection system that would enhance the reliability of workplace monitoring.

용접흄내 중금속분석시 전처리 방법별 효율비교 (A Comparison of Efficiency of Two Pretreatment Methods for Extracting Heavy Metals from Welding Fume Samples)

  • The purposes of this study were to survey types of pretreatment methods adopted by industrial hygiene laboratories in Korea for extracting heavy metals in welding fume samples and to compare performances of two pretreatment methods, the acid extraction and the microwave digestion, in extracting heavy metals contained in the real workplace samples from various welding jobs including arc, argon, and carbon dioxide. A total of 25 analytical chemists in the industrial hygiene laboratories participating the quality control program directed by the Korea Industrial Safety Corporation were interviewed by telephone. For the purpose of comparing performance of extracting heavy metals from real workplace samples, a total of 53 welders from 21 workplaces located in Anyang, Uiwang, and Kunpo areas were sampled from the period of March 22, 1999 to April 20, 1999. It was found that the most frequently adopted method for samples from the quality control program was the acid extraction method(40%) followed by the NIOSH 7300 method(36%). The NIOSH method, however, was the dominant method(36%) for samples from workplace followed by the acid extraction method(28%). In this study, two extraction methods, the acid extraction and the microwave digestion, were compared in terms of recovery rate, accuracy, and precision for both manganese and chromium. Both methods produced comparable results for the samples prepared for the quality control program. In contrast, concentrations of two heavy metals determined from real workplace samples pretreated with the microwave digestion method were statis tically significantly higher, manganese(166%) and chromium (200%), than those of utilizing the acid extraction method. These findings were consistent regardless of types of welding techniques used. The results of this study clearly show the importance of verifying the analytical performances of extraction methods for heavy metals not only for the samples from the quality control program but also from the real world samples collected from welding jobs.
