  • Application of the Filtered-X LMS adaptive filter to active noise cancellation requires to estimate the transfer characteristics between the output and the error signal of the adaptive canceler. In this paper, we derive an adaptive cancellation algorithm and analyze is convergence behavior when the acoustic noise is assumed to consist of multiple sinusoids. The results of the convergence analysis of the Filtered-X LMS algorithm indicate that the effects of parameter estimation inaccuracy on the convergence behavior of the algorithm are characterize by two distinct components : Phase estimation error and estimated magnitude. In particular, the convergence of the Filtered-X LMS algorithm is show to be strongly affected by the accuracy of the phase response estimate. Simulation results of the algorithm are presented which support the theoretical convergence analysis.

  • Generally the life of die is limited by fatigue fracture or dimensional inaccuracy originated from wear. In this paper to predict the fatigue life of die the stress and strain histories of die can be predicted by the analysis of elastic-plastic finite element method and the elastic analysis of die during the process analysis of workpiece. Also the stress-life curve of die material can be obtained through experiment. With the above to재 facts we propose the analysis method of prediction fatigue life in die,. In the proposed model the analysis of elastic-plastic finite element method for material is carried out by using ABAQUS. Surface force resulted from the contacting border of the die and workpiece is transformed into the nodal force of die to implement elastic analysis. besides the proposed analysis model of die is applied to extrusion die and forging. die.

  • In this paper, the structural behavior of R/C cylindrical panel is analyzed by experimental results. To avoid the geometric imperfection, R/C shell specimens are made by use of a stiff steel mold. From experimental results, the load carrying behavior of R/C cylindrical panel is presented under an external lateral pressure. Even if R/C shell does not posses geometric imperfections, the inaccuracy of the reinforcement position strongly affects to the ultimate strength and the failure patterns of such shells. To explain these effects, FEM nonlinear analyses are done under the same conditions as those of experiments. The behavior of R/C cylindrical shells are well simulated under the consideration of both the geometric imperfection and several inaccuracies.

  • Recently, researches on analyzing relationship between the state of emotion and musical stimuli are increasing. In many previous works, data sets from all extracted channels are used for pattern classification. But these methods have problems in computational complexity and inaccuracy. This paper proposes a selection of optimal EEG channel to reflect the state of emotion efficiently according to music listening by analyzing stochastic feature vectors. This makes EEG pattern classification relatively simple by reducing the number of dataset to process.

  • Off-line programming systems are widely spread in assembly lines of minute electronic products to huge offshore structures. Any OLP system has to be calibrated before the on-line robot tasks are performed because there are inherent differences between the CAD model on OLP and the real robot workspace. This paper uses simple geometric expressions to propose a calibration method applicable to an OLP for SCARA robots. A positioning task on the two-dimensional horizontal surface was used in the error analysis of a SCARA robot and the anaysis shows that the inaccuracy results from the two error sources non-zero offset angles of two rotational joints at the zero return and differences in link lengths. Pen marks on a sheet of plotting paper are used to determine the accurate data on the joint centers and link dimensions. The calculated offset angles and link lengths are fed back to the OLP for the calibration of the CAD model of the robot and task environments.

  • This study is to illustrate the usefulness of Kriging Dimension Reduction Method(KDRM), which is to construct probability distribution of response function in the presence of the physical uncertainty of input variables. DRM has recently received increased attention due to its sensitivity-free nature and efficiency that considerable accuracy is obtained with only a few number of analyses. However, the DRM has a number of drawbacks such as instability and inaccuracy for functions with increased nonlinearity. As a remedy, Kriging interpolation technique is incorporated which is known as more accurate for nonlinear functions. The KDRM is applied and compared with MCS methods in a compression coil spring design problem. The effectiveness and accuracy of this method is verified.

  • In this paper, a new adaptive linearizer architecture with the predistorter is proposed. In the M.Ghaderi's paper, two analog predistorters and an envelope detector are used. Analog circuits for the analog predistorter and the envelope detector can cause imperfection and inaccuracy of the system and make circuits more complex. To solve those problems, most of processes including the predistortion are made by the DSP. The RLS algorithm is applied so that the errors between power amplifier output signals through the postdistorters and predistorted input signals can be converged to the global minimum.

  • Fault simulatior has been used to compute exact fault coverages of test vectors for digial circuits. But it is time consuming because execution time is proportional to square of circuit size. Recently, several algorithms for testability analysis have been published to cope with these problems. COP is very fast and accurate but cannot be used for sequential circuits, while STAFAN can be used for sequential circuits but needs vast amount of execution time due to good circuit simulation. We proposed EXTASEC which gave fast and accurate fault coverage. But it shows noticeable errors for a few sequential circuits. In this paper, it is shown that the inaccuracy is due to uninitializble flipflops, and we propose ITEM to improve the EXTASEC algorithm. ITEM is an improved evaluation method of fault coverage by analysis of backward lines and uninitializable flipflops. It is expected to perform efficiently for very large circuits where execution time is critical.

  • This paper describes a new simplified logarithmic counting Tatemeter for the measurement of wide range counting rates without selector switch. Theoritical analysis of the proposed circuit and synthesis technique for designing a multi.decade instrument using this configuration are given. It has a linear response on the logarithmic scale for random pulses of Poisson's distribution as well as for periodic pulses. The experimental circuit designed by the proposed technique has a good logarithmic response over 5 decades covering the counting rates from 1 pps to $10^5$ pps. Also the causes of inaccuracy in the low and high range are examined and effestively removed.

  • The spring back taking place after the coiling process of steam generator tube leads to the dimensional inaccuracy. In order to reduce the spring back, tension force was applied to the one end of the tube during forming. In this work, parametric study using FEM was performed to find the appropriate magnitude of tension force. The force that induces minimum suing back was found by simultaneously taking account of suing back amount, cross-sectional ovality, and thickness of the tube wall after deformation. In addition, stress relieving by heat treatment was also simulated as an alternative to the former method. The latter was found to be more effective under the given constraints.
