A Sequencing Problem in Mixed-Model Assembly Line Including a Painting Line

  • In order to keep production balance at a mixed-model assembly line and a painting line, large WIP(Work- In-Process) inventories are required between two lines. To increase the efficiency of line handling through reducing the inventories under this circumstance, this paper concerns with a sequencing problem for a mixed-model assembly line that includes a painting line where the uncertain elements regarding the defective products exist. Then, we formulate a new type of the sequencing problem minimizing the line stoppage time and the idle time with forecasting the supply time of the products from the painting line. Finally, we examine the effectiveness of the proposed sequencing through computer simulations.

  • In this paper, we propose a system model that predicts the original signal transmitted from the transmitter using the received signal in the power line communication system based on the multi - layer perceptron which is one of the machine learning algorithms. Power line communication system using communication system using power network has more noise than communication system using general communication line. It causes a problem that the performance of the power line communication system is degraded. In order to solve this problem, the communication system model proposed in this paper minimizes the influence of noise through original signal prediction and mitigates the performance degradation of the power line communication system. In this paper, we prove that the original signal is predicted by applying the proposed communication system model to the white noise environment.

  • This enable system integration for efficient data processing by interconnecting ASP and SQL, on-line consultation between patient and Korean medicine doctor, and semi-eternal use of medical examination data owing to storage and check of medical examination data(accurate medical examination and description using this medical examination data between patient and Korean medicine doctor). This is a Korean medicine remote examination system which converts from existing Korean medicine hospital system being maintained as existing off-line only to medical examination type of both on-line and off-line mode transcending time and space on web in which anyone can participate.

The purpose of this paper is to determine the optimal buffer stock for a two-stage process line of industry that minimize a expected cost considering line efficiency and buffer stock Analytical method for the simplified model is applied and computer simulation is conducted to real numerical example.

  • Because of the ever increasing demands of consumers for a greater choice of product models, manufacturers are forced to produce a wider variety of models. Therefore, more and more assembly lines are being converted to handle the larger number. As the complexity in achieving an efficient mixed model assembly line is related to the degree of likeness between models on the line. To measure likeness between two or more models an method was developed in this study, which is based on the association of work element and their processing times on each model for mixed model assembly line.

  • Regenerative energy generated by regenerative braking of DC traction can cause the system malfunction or damage to the rectifier, or malfunction of the power conversion device in power supply system by DC Line voltage rise in feeder line. Regenerative energy storage system using super capacitor is one of the ways to stabilize DC line voltage. In this paper, energy storage system of DC traction system using super-capacitor bank is implemented and using the field measurement data of the station N and the station S on the Line 2, the operation characteristics of line voltage caused by regenerative energy of electric trains are verified. Also, charge/discharge characteristics of super capacitor are verified as well. Thus, we can verify the operation characteristics of super-capacitor bank for regenerative energy storage system installed in DC Traction. And if we can use field measurement data of DC line voltage, we have obtained cost reduction. The stabilization of the system will be improved by measuring the operation characteristics of regenerative energy storage system in certain section operated by DC traction and predicting the capacity and lifetime of super-capacitor.

  • The concept of dynamic tracking line is proposed as the feasible tracking region for a robot in a robot-conveyor system, which takes the conveyor speed into consideration. This paper presents an effective method to identify the dynamic tracking line in a robotic workcell. The maximum line speed of a robot is derived in an analytic form using the parameterized dynamics and kinematics of the manipulator, and some of its properties are established mathematically. The identification problem of the dynamic tracking line is then formulated as a root-solving problem for a single-variable equation, and solved by using a simple numerical technique. Finally, numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the methodology and its applications in workspace specification.

  • An automatic transfer line consists of several stages(groups of stations) in series into one system by a common transfer mechanism and a common control system. In this system losses of the efficiency are evidenced in periods where a stage is forcod down- starved or blocked. The efficiency of an automatic transfer line can be improved by providing buffer storages between a stage or the length of line common senses there are several critical factors, system configurations relative position, and buffer capacity allocations in automatic transfer line are considered with a point of view production rates, average stock, and mean delay. The propose of this paper is to provide the robust designs by Taguchi method which improve the efficiency of four-stage transfer line.

  • This paper describes a vision-based line-tracking system for AGV and steering control scheme. For detect the guideline quickly and exactly, We use four line-points which complement and predict each other. This low-cost line-tracking system is efficiently using PC-based real-time vision processing, Steering control is studied through an steering controller with guide-line angle and line-point error. This method is tested via a typical AGV with a single camera in laboratory environment.

  • This paper describes the concept and method of Controlling an illuminator using Power-Line Modem. Nowadays it is being studied and developed the Power-Line communication. The communication using Power-Line can realize Building-Automation and Home-Automation easily and chiefly. Because it has no need constructing an additional equipment. In this study it is used The Power-Line Modem, illuminators and microcontrollers which enable RS-232C serial communication.
