  • This paper proposes a new and simple stereo matching algorithm using the disparity space image (DSI) technique. First of all, we detect some salient feature points on each scan-line of the image pair and set the matching area using those points and define a simple cost matrix. And we take advantage of matching by pixel-by-pixel instead of using the matching window. While the pixel-by-pixel method boost up the speed of matching, because of no using neighbor information, the correctness of the matching may not be better. To cover this point, we expand the matching path using character of disparity-space-image for using neighbor information. In addition, we devise the compensated matching module using the volume of the disparity space image in order to improve the accuracy of the match. Consequently, we can reduce mismatches at the disparity discontinuities and can obtain the more detailed and correct disparity map.

  • COMS(Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) has multiple payloads; Meteorological Image(MI), Ocean Color Imager(GOCI) and Ka-band communication payloads. MI has 4 IR and 1 visible channel. In order to improve the quality of IR image, two calibration sources are used; black body image and cold space look data. In case of COMS, the space look is performed at 10.4 degree away from the nadir in east/west direction. During space look, SUN or moon intrusions are strictly forbidden, because it would degrade the quality of collected IR channel calibration data. Therefore we shall pay attention to select space look side depending on SUN and moon location. This paper proposes and discusses a simple and complete space look side selection logic based on SUN and moon intrusion event file. Computer simulation has been performed to analyze the performance of the proposed algorithm in term of east/west angular distance between space look position and hazardous intrusion sources; SUN and moon.

  • Clothing shape is principally described in seven factors that are composed of clothing design, clothing material, clothing size, pattern design, sewing method and body motion etc. The aims of this study was to measurement out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body by using the image processing. The subjects for direct anthropometric measurements were 248 female college students aged from 19 to 22. The data were statistically analyzed by principal analysis and cluster analysis. The results selected one somatotype. for the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body, there dimensional clothing shapes measured. and cross-sectional clothing shape obtained by the measurement was considered to be space wave form. The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form, and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape. • In terms of the concept of space in urban planning and design, the modern city approaches from the perspective that all spaces are made up of different places based on identity. In this study, we analyzed disparate image by paying attention to the difference between the individual spaces that form the city. And the physical and behavioral factors that respond to the disparate spatial images are derived through legibility measurement. As a result, the urban space in Busan has disparate images such as closure, openness, dynamic + closure, dynamic + openness, quiet space. The following are the legibility factors that make each image stronger. The elements of closure are high-density and high-rise buildings, residence, work, openness appeared as a factor of water space, walking and viewing. Dynamic & Closure is the element of industrial activity, dynamic & openness is open space, water space, swimming element, quiet space image is green space, walking, stay factor.

  • The target detection algorithm based on supervised learning is the current mainstream algorithm for target detection. A high-quality dataset is the prerequisite for the target detection algorithm to obtain good detection performance. The larger the number and quality of the dataset, the stronger the generalization ability of the model, that is, the dataset determines the upper limit of the model learning. The convolutional neural network optimizes the network parameters in a strong supervision method. The error is calculated by comparing the predicted frame with the manually labeled real frame, and then the error is passed into the network for continuous optimization. Strongly supervised learning mainly relies on a large number of images as models for continuous learning, so the number and quality of images directly affect the results of learning. This paper proposes a dataset STAR-24K (meaning a dataset for Space TArget Recognition with more than 24,000 images) for detecting common targets in space. Since there is currently no publicly available dataset for space target detection, we extracted some pictures from a series of channels such as pictures and videos released by the official websites of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and ESA (The European Space Agency) and expanded them to 24,451 pictures. We evaluate popular object detection algorithms to build a benchmark. Our STAR-24K dataset is publicly available at https://github.com/Zzz-zcy/STAR-24K.

  • In this paper we propose an directional analytic approach in image data space for X-ray image which is detected from the X-ray projection system. Such a radiographic nondestructive testing has long been used for steel-tube inspection and weld monitoring. The welded area and thickness of steel-tube are detected from gradient radiating mechanism based on the evaluation of biased X-ray source position. The welded area is an ellipse type on low contrast X-ray image including noise. Noise originates from most of elements of the system. such as shielding CCD camera, imaging screen, X-ray source, inspected object, electronic circuits and etc.. Projection incorrectness and noise influence on imaging quality is to be represented by vertical pixels' distribution. Space analysis due to vertical direction also shows the segmental possibility between regions by visual edge evaluation.

  • We present a new design approach and an example design for an image-space telecentric two-mirror system that has a fast f-number and a wide-field line image. The initial design of the telecentric mirror system is a conventional axially symmetric system, consisting of a flat primary mirror with fourth-order aspheric deformation and an oblate ellipsoidal secondary mirror to correct spherical aberration, coma, and field curvature. Even though in the optimized design the primary mirror is tilted, to avoid ray obstruction by the secondary mirror, the image-space telecentric two-mirror system shows quite good imaging performance, for a line imager.

  • Disparity space image (DSI) technique is a method of establishing correspondence between a pair of images. It has a merit of generating a dense disparity map for each pixel. DSI has a cost function to be minimized, and it needs empirical weighting factors for occlusion penalty and match reward. This paper provides theoretical basis for the weighting factors, which depend on image noise and contrast between an object and background.

  • The SIFT method is well-known for robustness against various image transformations, and is widely used for image retrieval and matching. The SIFT method extracts keypoints using scale space analysis, which is different from conventional keypoint detection methods that depend only on the image space. The SIFT method has also been extended to use higher-order scale space derivatives for increasing the number of keypoints detected. Such detection of additional keypoints detected was shown to provide performance gain in image retrieval experiments. Herein, a sigma based normalization method for keypoint detection is introduced using higher-order scale space derivatives.
