  • We propose new time-frequency (TF) tools for analyzing linear time-varying (LTV) systems and nonstationary random processes showing hyperbolic TF structure. Obtained through hyperbolic warping the narrowband Weyl symbol (WS) and spreading function (SF) in frequency, the new TF tools are useful for analyzing LTV systems and random processes characterized by hyperbolic time shifts. This new TF symbol, called the hyperbolic WS, satisfies the hyperbolic time-shift covariance and scale covariance properties, and is useful in wideband signal analysis. Using the new, hyperbolic time-shift covariant WS and 2-D TF kernels, we provide a formulation for the hyperbolic time-shift covariant TF symbols, which are 2-D smoothed versions of the hyperbolic WS. We also propose a new interpretation of linear signal transformations as weighted superposition of hyperbolic time shifted and scale changed versions of the signal. Application examples in signal analysis and detection demonstrate the advantages of our new results.

  • In this paper, we have defined bicomplex valued functions of bounded variations and rectifiable hyperbolic path. We have studied the integration of product-type bicomplex valued functions on rectifiable hyperbolic path. Also we have established bicomplex analogue of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus for hyperbolic line integral.

  • The shock absorber is a part having a direct influence on the ride comfort, stability and dynamic load prediction of a vehicle. Thus, a rationally modeled shock absorber should be required in the dynamic analysis of vehicles. This thesis presents a modified model, based on Worden's hyperbolic tangent function, in order to fit experimental data on the velocity-damping force of a shock absorber. The hyperbolic tangent function correctly indicates the characteristics of a shock absorber. and has the advantage of containing physical causality. To evaluate the method, comparative evaluations of the linear model. the 5th polynomial model and Worden's model were carried out. The function presented in this paper is not only simple but also makes it possible to estimate the function coefficients easily and visually. In addition, it has the advantage of containing physical causality. Lastly, it effectively models the damping force of a shock absorber.

  • This paper proposes design of new linear bipolar OTAs composed of an hyperbolic function circuit and a triple-tail cell. Two types of the OTAs are presented; one employs a hyperbolic sine circuit and the other contains a hyperbolic cosine circuit. The linear input voltage ranges of the proposed OTAs are wider than that of the conventional triple-tail cell, though the power dissipation is smaller. The results of SPICE simulation show that satisfactory characteristics are obtained.

  • In this paper, we investigate some geometric properties of starlikeness connected with the hyperbolic cosine functions defined in the open unit disk. In particular, for the class of such starlike hyperbolic cosine functions, we determine the lower bounds of partial sums, Briot-Bouquet differential subordination associated with Bernardi integral operator, and bounds on some third Hankel determinants containing initial coefficients.

  • We define de Sitter focal surfaces and hyperbolic focal surfaces of hyperbolic space curves. As an application of the theory of unfoldings of function germs, we investigate the singularities of these surfaces. For characterizing the singularities of these surfaces, we discover a new hyperbolic invariants and investigate the geometric meanings.

  • In this article, we establish Hilbert-type integral inequalities with the help of a non-homogeneous kernel of hyperbolic function with best constant factor. We also study the obtained inequalities's equivalent form. Additionaly, several specific Hilbert's type inequalities with constant factors in the term of the rational fraction expansion of higher order derivatives of cotangent and cosine functions are presented.

  • The conventional sliding mode control (CSMC) has a number of problems. It may cause dc output voltage ripple and it cannot guarantee the robustness of the whole system for a matrix rectifier (MR). Furthermore, the existence of a filter can decrease the input power factor (IPF). Therefore, a novel global sliding mode control (GSMC) based on a hyperbolic tangent function with IPF compensation for MRs is proposed in this paper. Firstly, due to the reachability and existence of the sliding mode, the condition of the matrix rectifier's robustness and chattering elimination is derived. Secondly, a global switching function is designed and the determination of the transient operation status is given. Then a SMC compensation strategy based on a DQ transformation model is applied to compensate the decreasing IPF. Finally, simulations and experiments are carried out to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the control algorithm. The obtained results show that compared with CSMC, applying the proposed GSMC based on a hyperbolic tangent function for matrix rectifiers can achieve a ripple-free output voltage with a unity IPF. In addition, the rectifier has an excellent robust performance at all times.

  • In this paper we consider the optimal control problem of both operators and parameters for nonlinear hyperbolic systems. For the identification problem, we show that for every value of the parameter and operators, the optimal control problem has a solution. Moreover we obtain the necessary conditions of optimality for the optimal control problem on the system.
