FHD 공정에 의한 저손실 실리카 슬랩 도파로 형성 (Fabrication of Low Loss Silica Slab Waveguide by Flame Hydrolysis Deposition)

  • Silica slab wavegudie was fabricated on Si substrates by FHD for planar optical passive devices. The slab waveguide consists of lower clad and core layers, where core layer index is controlled by GeO2 addition. Doping of GeO2 in silica is difficult because of the low deposition density due to nonspherical particle generation in FHD process. Silica core particles deposited at various conditions such as flame temperature and substrate scanning were analyzed by SEM and TEM. As the flame temperature increased, the surface roughness of the core layer was decreased up to 3.6 nm after consolidation. Index difference and thickness of core of slab waveguide were 0.3%, 8$\mu\textrm{m}$ respectively. Measured optical loss at TE mode was <0.04 dB/cm at 1.3$\mu\textrm{m}$ and <0.06 dB/cm at 1.55$\mu\textrm{m}$.

  • Biological conversion of biomass into fuels and chemicals requires hydrolysis of the polysaccharide into monomeric sugars. In this study, dilute sulfuric acid used as a catalyst for the pretreatment of rapeseed straw. Hydrolysis can be performed enzymatically, and with dilute or concentrate mineral acids. Dilute-acid hydrolysis of rapeseed straw was optimized through the utilization of combined severity. Evaluation criteria for optimization of the pretreatment conditions were based on high xylose recovery and low inhibitor contents in the hydrolyzates. In addition, this paper reports the compositional analysis of hydrolyzate liquors and solid residues, xylose and glucose mass balance closures, and digestibility results of the acid pretreated rapeseed straw.

Influence of Extrusion on the Solubility of Defatted Soybean Flour in Enzymatic Hydrolysis

  • Low-energy processing technology, which enhances the utility of defatted soybean flour (DSF), was developed using extrusion processing. DSF was extruded at different conditions using a twin screw extruder and then, dried at $40^{\circ}C$ for 20 hr. The nitrogen solubility index (NSI), viscosity, water solubility index (WSI), and water absorption index (WAI) of DSF increased after extrusion processing. The density of DSF extrudates decreased with the decrease in water content from 53 to 33% and the increase in extrusion temperature from 110 to $160^{\circ}C$. The addition of NaOH from 1.2 to 1.8% and citric acid from 1 to 5% increased the total solubility (TS) of DSF due to the decrease of protein coiling and hydrophobic bonds formation during extrusion processing. When viscozyme was reacted first, TS, NSI, and soluble carbohydrate content of DSF hydrolysates increased about 12, 6, and 7%, respectively, compared to them reacted with protease first. The TS and NSI of DSF hydrolysates were increased about 15 and 10%, respectively, by extrusion processing at alkaline and acidic pH. Extrusion processing at alkaline and acidic pH contributed the increase of efficiency to hydrolyze DSF samples using enzyme.

녹두 가수분해물의 항산화활성에 미치는 열처리 효과 (Effects of Heat Treatment on Antioxidant Activity of Hydrolyzed Mung Beans)

  • 본 연구는 전분 및 단백질 함량이 높은 녹두를 산으로 가수분해 시킨 다음 열처리를 통한 항산화 활성의 변화를 조사하였다. 유리당 및 유리아미노산 최대생성 가수분해조건은 6 N 염산으로 2시간 처리조건으로 선정하였으며, $130^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 열처리 한 다음 갈변도, 5'-HMF함량, 환원당, 항산화 성분 및 활성을 검토하였다. 갈변도는 가수분해 시키지 않은 열처리에서는 0.17이었지만 가수분해 후 열처리에서 2.31로 최대 값을 나타내었으며, 5'-HMF 함량도 산가수분해 시키지 않은 열처리에서는 검출되지 않았지만 가수분해 후 열처리에서 81.61 mg/g로 증가하였다. 환원당은 열처리 전 가수분해만 하였을 경우 190.48 mg/g이었지만 열처리 후 137.34 mg/g으로 감소하였다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 가수분해 시키지 않은 열처리에서는 8.79 mg/g이었지만 열처리 후에는 55.95 mg/g으로 증가하였다. ABTS 라디칼소거능은 가수분해 시키지 않은 열처리에서는 1.75 mg AA eq/g이었지만 열처리 후에는 22.18 mg AA eq/g으로 증가하였으며, DPPH 라디칼소거능은 0에서 3.644 mg Trolox eq/g으로 증가하였다.

메밀추출물 첨가가 In Vitro 전분가수분해율 및 정상성인의 혈당반응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Added Buckwheat(Fagopyrum esculentum) Extract on Starch Hydrolysis In Vitro and Glucose Responses in Healthy Subjects)

  • This study determined the effects of added buckwheat extract on the rate of corn starch hydrolysis in vitro as well as blood glucose responses through its supplementation in healthy subjects. The rate of corn starch hydrolysis in the presence or absence of various buckwheat extracts was determined in an in vitro enzyme/dialysis system for 2 hr. The buckwheat was extracted by water, ethanol(40%, 70%, 100%) and methanol(40%, 70%, 100%), respectively. Twenty percent(w/w) additions of the ethanol, methanol and water buckwheat extract to corn starch solution significantly reduced the starch hydrolysis at every minute for 2 hr(p<0.05). The calculated hydrolysis indices of the buckwheat extracts were in the order of 100% ethanol extract(50), 100% methanol(54), 40% ethanol(58), 40% methanol(62), 70% methanol(64), 70% ethanol(68), water (82). For the blood glucose response study, groups of 12 volunteers were given 50 g of boiled rice with or without buckwheat extract(10% and 20% of starch weight) using the 100%, 70%, and 40% ethanol extracts, respectively. The addition of each buckwheat ethanol extract significantly reduced blood glucose concentrations at three or more points during 2 hr and also reduced the mean peak rise and area under the blood glucose curve(p<0.05). The calculated glycemic index(GI) values for all ethanol buckwheat extract groups were significantly decreased compared to the control(rice). At the concentrations of 20%, the buckwheat 100% ethanol extracts lowered the GI by 68%. The 100% ethanol extract was more effective than the 70% and 40% extracts for reducing GI. Therefore, the 100% ethanol buckwheat extract would be the most therapeutically useful in modifying postprandial hyperglycemia.

루틴, 퀘르세틴, 식이섬유 혼합물 설계를 이용한 전분소화 지연 효과의 최적화에 대한 융합 연구 (Convergence Study on the Optimization for Suppression of Starch Hydrolysis using Rutin, Quercetin and Dietary Fiber Mixture Design)

  • 본 연구는 루틴, 퀘르세틴, 식이섬유가 전분 소화율에 미치는 영향을 통계적 혼합물 설계방법을 이용하여 확인하고자 하였다. 세 가지 성분들은 모두 농도가 증가함에 따라 전분소화 지연 효과가 나타났으며, 그 중에서도 퀘르세틴과 식이섬유가 함께 섞였을 때 가장 높은 지연 효과를 보였다. 이 혼합물 설계는 simplex-centroid 실험설계법을 이용하였고, 최적 모델은 quadratic 모델에서 나타났다. 이때 얻어진 회귀방정식을 통하여 유의한 상승효과를 확인할 수 있었다. 최적화 통계 방법을 사용하여 혼합비를 분석한 결과 퀘르세틴과 식이섬유가 72: 28 비율에서 전분 소화 지연 효과가 최대로 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 전분소화에 대한 영향을 3차원 표면 도표로 시각화하여 나타내었으며, 이 결과로 퀘르세틴과 식이섬유의 상호작용으로 인하여 전분 소화를 15% 이상 지연시키는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

시판 표준 생식의 전분 가수분해지수에 열처리가 미치는 영향 (Effect of Heat Treatment on In Vitro Hydrolysis Index of Commercial Saengshik)

  • In this study, we assessed the effects of heat treatment on the in vitro hydrolysis indices of commercial Saengshik. Thermal treatment on grain flour and commercial Saengshik increased soluble dietary finer(SDF) and insoluble fiber(IDF), while total dietary fiber(TDF) content remained nearly constant regardless of thermal treatment. Among the samples, COS(Commercial Ohaeng Saengshik) showed the highest TDF and IDF content in raw and heated samples. Additionally, the resistant starch(RS) contents in unheated samples were shown to be high. After heating, the RS levels of all the samples were reduced significantly, by over 12%. The degree of gelatinization in the unheated samples was lower than that of the heated samples, whereas the degree of retrogradation in the unheated samples was higher than that of the heated samples. The hydrolysis indices(HI) of the unheated samples were relatively low, whereas the heated group evidenced high levels. The HI must be affected by content of RS and IDF in samples.

  • Physicochemical properties of native and acid-modified Job's tears (Coix lachryma-jobi L.) starches were investigated. Starch extracted from Job's tears was treated with 2.2 N hydrochloric acid for different length of time (3, 6, 12, and 18 hr). The hydrolysis pattern of starches with the acid proceeded rapidly up to 12 hr and then the approached constant values. The swelling power of acid-modified starches measured at all temperatures was lower than that of its native counterparts and the water solubility index increased as temperature and hydrolysis time increased. Rapid visco analyzer viscograms of acid-modified starches demonstrated a very low viscosity as compared with that of native starch. However, Xray diffraction did not show any significant alteration in the crystallinity after acid-modification.

Enhancing Extraction Yield of Chlorella Extract by Enzyme Treatment

  • An efficient production method of chlorella extract was developed by enzymatic treatment using cell lytic and proteolytic enzymes. The suitable dosage of Tunicase, a cell lytic enzyme, was found to be 1.0% (w/w). Proteolytic enzymes were screened to obtain high chlorella growth factor (CGF) index, which indicates crude CGF content and solid recovery. Among the seven tested proteases, Esperase, whose optimal dosage was 1.0% (w/w), was selected. By co-treatment using optimal dosages of Tunicase and Esperase, the highest CGF index and solid recovery were obtained. The CGF index and solid recovery of co-treatment were remarkably enhanced by 250 ($4.36{\rightarrow}15.21$) and 220% ($12.65%{\rightarrow}40.15%$), respectively, than those of the non-treated extracts.

  • FHD (Falme Hydrolysis Deposition) 공정으로 실리카 슬렙도파로를 제작하고 전송손실을 측정하였다. 전송손실 측정에는 프리즘커플링으로 빛을 입사시키고 굴절률 정합액으로 출사시키는 장치를 제작 사용하였다. 측정된 전송손실은 1300 nm 및 633 nm에서 각각 0.04 dB/cm 및 0.09 dB/cm의 값을 보였다.
