  • The main objective of this study is to discuss the effect of free cash flow as a moderating variable on managers' decisions as regard earnings management. Companies with free cash flow are expected to refrain from taking opportunistic actions such as earnings management. The research used quantitative methods with sub-group moderating analysis. It is found that there is a significant relationship between past performance and earnings management, where the free cash flow is the moderating variable. The effect of past performance on earnings management is shown to slightly increase as free cash flow is considered. The findings of this study prove that earnings management is a practice that is often done by utilizing the flexibility of accounting recording and recognition mechanisms. Past performance becomes the main variable in encouraging managers to manage earnings by reducing revenue in the current period. This research can also be a reference in explaining managerial behavior and can be a reference to improving ethical human resource capabilities. This research focuses on companies in Indonesia that conduct earnings management by lowering profits as a result of declining past performance and examines aspects of free cash flow that reinforces the conduct of earnings management.

  • Electronic brainstorming (EBS) to improve the process and outcomes of group decision making is an artifact of Information Systems legacy. Despite three decades of research with EBS in an effort to become a key resource of organizational performance, its performance when compared to that of nominal is inconclusive because of the recent debate over its usefulness in terms of productivity. Subsequent researchers have directed our attention to the re-examination of cognitive stimulation, which is considered the major benefit in computer-based idea generation, to explain the performance singularity in computer-based groups. While both cognitive and motivational factors that moderate and mediate the group-interaction process remain unexplored, individual differences that are tightly linked to creative behavior have been largely ignored to account for the discrepancy in performance. Since simulations have been widely used in situations where an outcome does not meet the assumptions, the notion of a group simulator and detailed simulation mechanisms are introduced to examine the potential effects of individual differences on the performance of computer-based idea generation groups. In addition, two prior studies that empirically explored cognitive mechanisms with the group simulator are showcased along with six propositions to initiate future research.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of the LOHAS index value of school food service employees on the purchase of food materials and foodservice quality. The subjects consisted of 566 foodservice employees. The findings were as follows. (1) The foodservice employee's LOHAS index fell within that of a NOMADICS group with an average of 72.18 points out of 100 points. (2) When the age, working experience and LOHAS index of the foodservice employees was high, the necessity, view, interest and recognition of LOHAS introduction for the improvement of the foodservice environment was high. (3) The amount of environmentally-friendly food materials purchased by foodservice employees was high, when they had a high LOHAS index. (4) High foodservice quality management items of foodservice employees were 'sanitation management' (3.87 points) and 'human resource management' (3.84 points), whereas 'menu management' (3.57 points) and 'food material and inspection management' (3.61 points) scored low. (5) The LOHAS index of foodservice employees has a significant impact on the purchase intention of environmentally-friendly food materials in LOHAS and NOMADICS groups. (6) This study confirmed that a higher LOHAS index of foodservice employees was associated with higher foodservice quality management behavior, which leads to an improved quality of foodservice.

This study is based on a quantitative approach by collecting data using a survey conducted on three SOE's companies in Indonesia that operate in Makassar City, namely Pelindo. Ltd (Port Company), PLN. Ltd (Electric Company) and Pertamina. Ltd (Oil and Gas Company), with a sample of 90 employees. The study population was all non-managerial permanent employees. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling. In structural relations, out of the nine direct tests, there were two insignificant relationships, and in all three hypotheses there was one not-supported hypothesis. When compared between person-organization Fit and Organizational Justice, it is found that organizational justice has a more critical role in building Human Resource performance compared to Person-Organization Fit, because organizational justice is better able to provide job satisfaction and make organizational commitment and OCB as a prerequisite for its formation to better Human Resources performance. However, of the 54 companies, ten have the same products being marketed, namely mortgage loans, investment loans, and multipurpose loans. In contrast, other finance companies focus more on motor vehicle loans—determining the number of samples obtained by multiplying by six times the number of indicators used. The sampling technique is done by purposive sampling with specific respondent criteria. In this study, analysis techniques, using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 22. The results showed that the increase in employee performance was influenced by curiosity regarding independent employee behavior. This study provides recommendations human resource management practices that have an impact on organizational performance.

  • The importance of time grows greater these days. For that reason, much research has been conducted to investigate time use. In particular, time spent in housework has been a focus in the human ecology. This study aimed to look into the field of research about time spent in housework from 1991 to 2004. To conduct the inquiry, 35 research projects were analyzed by subject. It turned out that most of the research studied the actual state of time use and related variables. Secondly, the research was classified by the measurement method, such as who wrote the time log or questionnaire, what type of response the researcher wanted and what kind of recording method was used. In 30 research projects, respondents wrote in their time logs and questionnaires by themselves. A few research projects presented certain types of behavior as examples of the actions in everyday life. For the recording method, 22 of the projects employed the time log method and 11 used questionnaires. Thirdly, all the research was categorized by the respondent of each project. 14 projects were targeted .at housewives and 14 were for married couples. Lastly, the definition of time spent in housework was used to consider these 35 studies. Most of the research studies defined the 'time spent in housework' as the total amount of the time spent in eating, clothing, housing, family care and household management.

  • Fish are an essential resource in human society, and while ecological research on them is challenging, it is absolutely necessary. Recent technologies enabled researchers to monitor underwater fish behavior. Acoustic signals, satellite-mediated location estimation, and light-based geolocation are powerful tools for tracking fish movements from freshwater to deep-sea habitats. These tools allow us to track various fish species and elucidate their ecology. Furthermore, based on these technologies, we can develop fisheries management plans and enhance aquaculture productivity. In this review, we also discuss challenges in improving current technologies and provide future recommendations for fish bio-logging studies.
