  • A low-cost, high-performance 40 Gb/s clock recovery module using a phase-locked loop(PLL) for a 40 Gb/s optical receiver has been designed and implemented. It consists of a clock recovery circuit, a RF mixer and frequency discriminator for phase/frequency detection, a DR-VCO, a phase shifter, and a hold circuit. The recovered 40 GHz clock is synchronized with a stable 10 GHz DR-VCO. The clock stability and jitter characteristics of the implemented PLL-based clock recovery module has shown to significantly improve the performance of the conventional open-loop type clock recovery module with DR filter. The measured peak-to-peak RMS jitter is about 230 fs. When input signal is dropped, the 40 GHz clock is generated continuously by hold circuit. The implemented clock recovery module can be used as a low-cost and high-performance receiver module for 40 Gb/s commercial optical network.

  • The performance of the solenoid actuated hydrogen injector and the capacitive peak-hold type driving circuit was predicted through the modeling of the injector and the driving circuit the modeling was composed of the driving circuit, the solenoid, the moving parts of the injector, and the hydrogen injection system. The performance of the injector through the modeling was compared with the results of the solenoid and injector rig tests, and those were consistent with each other. Through the prediction of the injector performance, the effects of the components such as electrical resistor, capacitor, and injector spring are easily known to the injector performance required.

대형 후육 LH형 탄성구조 프레임의 사출성형 최적화에 관한 연구 (A study on optimization of injection molding of large thick LH type elastic frame)

  • In the present study, the injection molding optimization of a large thick LH type elastic frames for the reduction of warpage was performed. Two kinds of fine and coarse finite element models were prepared to investigate the efficiency of analysis time and quality on simulation results. In order to derive injection molding conditions that can minimize distortion of parts, it was investigated that the effects of mold temperature, resin temperature, injection time, hold pressure switching time, holding pressure and the hold time on deformation characteristics using the design of experiments. The main influential factors on the warpage were found from the optimization simulation and the geometry data of the warpage result was converted into an initial model for injection simulation. It was shown that a coarse model with good mesh quality could be adapted for mold design since the total analysis time using the proposed model was reduced to 1/10. The suggested inversed warpage model produced the best minimized result of warpage.

  • 클락 유지 기능을 가지는 저가의 고성능 40 Gb/s 클락 복원기를 위상 고정 루프를 적용하여 설계 및 제작하였다. 클락 복원기는 클락 추출기, RF 믹서, 주파수 판별기, 위상 변환기, 클락 유지 회로로 구성되어 있다. 추출된 40 GHz 클락은 10 GHz 유전체 공진 발진기와 위상이 동기된다. 위상 고정 루프를 사용한 클락 복원기는 기존의 유전체 공진 필터를 사용한 개방형 클락 복원기에 비해 클락의 안정성과 지터 특성이 크게 향상되었다. 측정된 지터의 실효치는 230 fs였다. 또한 입력 신호가 끊어질 경우, 유지 회로에 의해 연속적인 클락 유지가 가능하였다.

한국형 LNG 화물창 멤브레인의 Sheet 배치 최적화 (Optimization of Sheet Arrangement of Membrane Panel in Korean LNG Cargo Containment System)

  • Membrane panels are installed in LNG cargo-hold in order to endure extremely low temperature LNG. Although there are several types of membranes around the world, Korean LNG cargo containment system is developing to accomplish technology independence from the other countries. The membrane panel of Korean LNG cargo containment system is composed of corrugation and flat sheets which are arranged asymmetrically. It is very important to reduce the number of the type of corrugation sheet because a mold is required as much as the type of the corrugation sheet. Therefore, we proposed an optimization method to minimize the type of the corrugation sheet. For this method, the number of pitches, which is the distance between the centers of two corrugation sheets should be minimized. We also developed optimized arrangement procedure of the flats simultaneously. Finally, the developed optimization program is applied to 174K LNG cargo hold, and the minimum pitch size is found.

일반화물선에서 비표준화물(철재상자)의 안전한 운송을 위한 고찰 (A Study on the Safe Transportation of a Non-Standardized Cargo (Steel Box) for General Cargo Ships)

  • 국제항해선박과 국내항해 카페리선박에 적용되었던 "화물적재고박 등에 관한 기준"이 2018년 1월부터 국내 항만을 운송하는 일반화물선박에도 적용 되었다. 이에 따라 일반화물선을 통해 제주도를 기점으로 국내 주요항만으로 운송되고 있던 크기와 형태가 다른 비표준 철재상자와 같은 새로운 형식의 화물에 대한 법적인 성질을 분류하고 그 분류에 따라 안전하게 적재하고 고박할 수 있는 방안이 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구는 현장 조사와 관련기관 자료 수집을 통해 철재상자의 크기, 형태 등을 분석하였고, 이를 기반으로 철재상자의 법적인 지위를 관련 국내법령과 국제규범을 비교 분석하였으며 그 검토결과를 바탕으로 일반화물선의 화물창에 안전하게 적재하고 고박하는 방법을 검토하였다. 철재상자는 관련 국내법령과 국제규범 등에 따르면 비표준화 화물의 한 종류인 보호외벽이 있는 팔렛트 상자로 분류할 수 있었다. 또한, 일반선박의 화물창에 철재상자를 적재하는 경우 선박 화물창에 빈틈이 없도록 꽉채워서 적재하여 운송하는 방안이 검토되었다. 검토된 화물창내 빈틈없이 꽉채우는 적재·운송 방안이 안전한지에 대한 검증은 선체구조 안전성과 선박복원성 확보 여부를 통해 확인하였다. 선체구조 안전성에 대한 검증결과 화물창내에 적재할 수 있는 화물의 총중량에 대한 선박의 화물창 바닥과 양측면의 구조강도 값은 만족하였으며, 선박복원성은 GoM 값과 3가지 횡경사각별 복원정곡선 및 복원정이 만족되었다.

Development of Flight Control System and Troubleshooting on Flight Test of a Tilt-Rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

  • The full results of troubleshooting process related to the flight control system of a tilt-rotor type UAV in the flight tests are described. Flight tests were conducted in helicopter, conversion, and airplane modes. The vehicle was flown using automatic functions, which include speed-hold, altitude-hold, heading-hold, guidance modes, as well as automatic take-off and landing. Many unexpected problems occurred during the envelope expansion tests which were mostly under those automatic functions. The anomalies in helicopter mode include vortex ring state (VRS), long delay in the automatic take-off, and the initial overshoot in the automatic landing. In contrast, the anomalies in conversion mode are untrimmed AOS oscillation and the calibration errors of the air data sensors. The problems of low damping in rotor speed and roll rate responses are found in airplane mode. Once all of the known problems had been solved, the vehicle in airplane mode gradually reached the maximum design speed of 440km/h at the operation altitude of 3km. This paper also presents a comprehensive detailing of the control systems of the tilt-rotor unmanned air vehicle (UAV).

ROBUST DUALITY FOR NONSMOOTH MULTIOBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS

  • In this paper, we consider a nonsmooth multiobjective robust optimization problem with more than two locally Lipschitz objective functions and locally Lipschitz constraint functions in the face of data uncertainty. We prove a nonsmooth sufficient optimality theorem for a weakly robust efficient solution of the problem. We formulate a Wolfe type dual problem for the problem, and establish duality theorems which hold between the problem and its Wolfe type dual problem.
