Double Gate MOSFET Modeling Based on Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System for Nanoscale Circuit Simulation

  • As the conventional silicon metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) approaches its scaling limits, quantum mechanical effects are expected to become more and more important. Accurate quantum transport simulators are required to explore the essential device physics as a design aid. However, because of the complexity of the analysis, it has been necessary to simulate the quantum mechanical model with high speed and accuracy. In this paper, the modeling of double gate MOSFET based on an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is presented. The ANFIS model reduces the computational time while keeping the accuracy of physics-based models, like non-equilibrium Green's function formalism. Finally, we import the ANFIS model into the circuit simulator software as a subcircuit. The results show that the compact model based on ANFIS is an efficient tool for the simulation of nanoscale circuits.

  • Future logic device over the FinFET generation requires a complete electrostatics and transport characteristic for low-power and high-speed operation as extremely scaled devices. Silicon, Germanium and III-V based nanowire-based MOSFET devices and few-layer TMDC (Transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers) based multi-gate devices have been brought attention from device engineers due to those excellent electrostatic and novel device characteristic. In this study, we simulated ultrascaled Si/Ge/InAs gate-all-around nanowire MOSFET and MoS2 TMDC based DG MOSFET and TFET device by tight-binding NEGF method. As a result, we can find promising candidates of the future logic device of each channel material and device structures.

An Optimal Control of Container Crane Using Evolution Strategy (진화전략을 이용한 컨테이너 크레인의 최적제어에 관한 연구)

  • During the operation of crane system in container yard, the objective is to transport the load to a goal position as quick as possible without rope oscillation. The container crane is generally operated by an expert operator, but recently an automatic control system with high speed and rapid transportation is required. Therefore, we developed an optimal controller which has to control the crane system with disturbances. In this paper, we present a design of optima 2-DOF PID controller for the control of gantry crane which has to control swing motion and trolley position. We used evolution strategy(ES) to tune the parameters of 2-DOF PID controller. It was compared with general PID controller. The computer simulations show that the proposed method has better performances than the other method.

  • Japanese government actively took part in the TSR modernization. the amount of trade between Russia & Japan increased increasingly by 55%, as the individual income increases in Russia, it becomes a big scale consuming market, therefore Japan concentrates on lobby to push into the russian continent and also Japanese government will participate in aggressively to the cooperation with Russian government, loaning to the TSR modernization & trade insurance, high speed train introduction, and introduction of transport system. this study checks and analyzes the japan's concrete methods & strategy to advance to the continent, and also this case can be applied to South korea, if TKR corridor is continuously blocked. I want to review the cooperation of north & south, and the project of continental railways.

  • To prepare for the ever-increasing demand for air transport, airport operators should be well aware of the timing of the saturation of the facility and increase the capacity of the airport through extension or extension. The capacity of an airport is determined by the smallest value of the facilities that make up the airport, but it is generally customary to determine the capacity of the costly and time-consuming runway as a whole for the airport. For analyzing the capacity of the runway capacity, the study used the most accurate microscopic air traffic simulation, Simmod-PRO, to analyze the saturation time of three runways currently in Incheon International Airport's operation, and calculate the appropriate time for operation of the 4th runway. The study also calculate the relocation of Airport's high-speed exit taxiway for analyzing the increasing of capacity.

A Study on the Correlation between Effective Impact Speed and the Severity of Collision Accidents with Fishing Vessels (유효충돌속도에 따른 어선 충돌사고 피해 상관성에 관한 연구)

  • In maritime accidents, collisions involving fishing vessels are more frequent and severe than those involving other types of vessels. Previous cases of collision accidents caused by fishing vessels causing serious damage implied that fishing vessels maintained high speeds until just before the collision and that they collided with much larger vessels. This study investigated the correlation between the severity of ship damage resulting from fishing vessel collisions and the vessel's speed. The effective impact speed commonly used in the road transport sector was utilized to analyze ship collision accidents. The study collected collision data between fishing vessels and between fishing vessels and non-fishing vessels from accident investigation reports from 2016 to 2022. The effective impact speed was calculated for a total of 617 vessels. After using binary and multinomial logistic regression methodology, the analysis was carried out with effective impact speed as the independent variable and severity of accident as the dependent variable. The analysis revealed a statistically significant correlation between the effective impact speed and the severity of ship damage, indicating that the severity of ship damage is influenced not only by the effective impact speed but also by the tonnage of the vessel.

Potential Source of PM10, PM2.5, and OC and EC in Seoul During Spring 2016 (2016년 봄철 서울의 PM10, PM2.5 및 OC와 EC 배출원 기여도 추정)

  • Organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC) in $PM_{2.5}$ were measured using Sunset OC/EC Field Analyzer at Seoul Hwangsa Monitoring Center from March to April, 2016. The mean concentrations of OC and EC during the entire period were $4.4{\pm}2.0{\mu}gC\;m^{-3}$ and $1.4{\pm}0.6{\mu}gC\;m^{-3}$, respectively. OC/EC ratio was $3.4{\pm}1.0$. The average concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were $57.4{\pm}25.9$ and $39.7{\pm}19.8{\mu}g\;m^{-3}$, respectively, which were detected by an optical particle counter. The OC and EC peaks were observed in the morning, which were impacted by vehicle emission, however, their diurnal variations were not noticeable. This is determined to be contributed by the long-range transported OC or secondary formation via photochemical reaction by volatile organic compounds at afternoon. A conditional probability function (CPF) model was used to identify the local source of pollution. High concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were observed from the westerly wind, regardless of wind speed. When wind velocity was high, a mixing plume of dust and pollution during long-range transport from China in spring was observed. In contrast, pollution in low wind velocity was from local source, regardless of direction. To know the effect of long-range transport on pollution, a concentration weighted trajectory (CWT) model was analyzed based on a potential source contribution function (PSCF) model in which 75 percentiles high concentration was picked out for CWT analysis. $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$, OC, and EC were dominantly contributed from China in spring, and EC results were similar in both PSCF and CWT. In conclusion, Seoul air quality in spring was mainly affected by a mixture of local pollution and anthropogenic pollutants originated in China than the Asian dust.

The Quartile Deviation and the Control Chart Model of Improvement Confidence for Link Travel Speed from GPS Probe Data (사분위편차 및 관리도 모형에 의한 GPS 수집기반 구간통행속도 데이터 이상치 제거방안 연구)

  • The travel speed collected by the prove-car equipped with the GPS has the problems, which are the data's stability and finding out the representative travel speed, by the influence of the traffic signal and etc. at the interrupted traffic. This study was conducted to develop the method of filtering the outlier data from the data collected by the prove-car. The method to remove the outlier data from the serial data which were collected by the prove-car was adapted to each of the quartile deviation statistics model and the management graphic statistics model. The rate of removing the outlier data by the quartile deviation method was $0{\sim}3.7%$ while the rate by the management graphic statistic methods was $0.3{\sim}7.2%$. Both methods show the low removal rate at the dawn time when the traffic is inactivity, on the other hand the remove rate is high during the daytime. However, both methods have the problem such that the threshold level for removing the outlier data was established at the low bound in the case as good as the statistics model. Therefore, it is required for the experience calibration.

A Study on the Impact of AI Edge Computing Technology on Reducing Traffic Accidents at Non-signalized Intersections on Residential Road (이면도로 비신호교차로에서 AI 기반 엣지컴퓨팅 기술이 교통사고 감소에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • We used actual field data to analyze from a traffic engineering perspective how AI and edge computing technologies affect the reduction of traffic accidents. By providing object information from 20m behind with AI object recognition, the driver secures a response time of about 3.6 seconds, and with edge technology, information is displayed in 0.5 to 0.8 seconds, giving the driver time to respond to intersection situations. In addition, it was analyzed that stopping before entering the intersection is possible when speed is controlled at 11-12km at the 10m point of the intersection approach and 20km/h at the 20m point. As a result, it was shown that traffic accidents can be reduced when the high object recognition rate of AI technology, provision of real-time information by edge technology, and the appropriate speed management at intersection approaches are executed simultaneously.

Simulation of Atmospheric Dispersion over the Yosu Area -I. Terrain Effects- (여수지역 대기확산의 수치 모사 -I. 지형의 영향-)

  • The atmospheric dispersion of a pollutant emitted from a hypothetical source located in the middle of the Yochon Industrial Estate was simulated by using the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS). Four horizontally nested grids were employed: the coarsest one covered the southern part of the Korean Peninsula including Mt. Chiri and the finest one covered the Yochon Industrial Estate and the surrounding area. Wind fields were initially assumed horizontally homogeneous with a wind speed of 4m/s, the average for the Yosu area, and were developed without both external forces and diurnal changes in order to investigate the terrain-induced phenomena. Wind directions that could emphasize the terrain effects on the pollutant transport and that could carry pollutants to a highly-popluated area were selected for the dispersion study. A pollutant was released for 24hours from a grid-base volume source after a 24-h blank run for developing the wind field. The dispersion study showed that the pollutant from the present source location did not directly affect the Yosu City, but showed high concentrations at locations behind the hills 5 to 6 km away from the source according to wind directions. When the wind speed was low, close to calm condition, the pollutant was detected at upstream locations 6 to 7 km from the source. In comparison with the results from the RAMS simulation, the Industrial Source Complex Short-Term Model(ISCST3) predicted a narrow dispersion that was sensitive to the wind direction. When the wind velocity was affected by the local environment, the ISCST3 calculation using that data also gave a lop-sided result, which was different from the distribution of the pollutant reproduced by RAMS.
