  • In this paper power system and drive-train for omni-directional autonomous mobile robots with multiple energy storage units are presented. Because in proposed system, which is implemented in soccer robots, the ability of power flow control from of multiple separated energy storage units and speed control for each motor are combined, these robots can be derived by more than one power source. This capability, allow robot to diversify its energy source by employing hybrid power sources. In this research Lithium ion polymer batteries have been used for main and auxiliary energy storage units because of their high power and energy densities. And to protect them against deep discharge, over current and short circuit, a protection circuit was designed. The other parts of our robot power system are DC-DC converters and kicker circuit. The simulation and experimental results show proposed scheme and extracted equations are valid and energy management and speed control can be achieved properly using this method. The filed experiments show robot mobility functions to perform the requested motion is enough and it has a high maneuverability in the field.

  • Purpose: As mobile devices are commonly used and contact-free services are widespread due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the recent distribution environment, this study suggests retail strategies for consumers using high-speed railways. To this end, we analyzed how consumer perception on technologies necessary for use of mobile apps is related to the attitude that drives consumers to continue using the app services. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the extended unified theory of technology acceptance and use of technology model by Venkatesh, Morris, Davis and Davis (2003), we added variables proposed by existing theories that studied the technology acceptance model from multiple perspectives and empirically analyzed the relationship between user satisfaction and use intention with structural equation modeling. Results: As expected, factors necessary for the use of app services such as performance expectancy, social influence, price value, facilitating conditions, security, and aesthetics had positive effects on user satisfaction, whereas the effect of effort expectancy on user satisfaction was rejected. And user satisfaction was found to have a significant effect on intention to use. Conclusions: The results provide implications that strategic retail management of the above factors can motivate passengers to continuously use high-speed railways.

  • The object of study is what kinds of contents are preferable depending on regions and terminal types for high speed mobile internet. We consider 10 contents, 9 region2, and 2 terminal types. The methods are the adjusted residuals, the corresponding analysis, and the multiple corresponding analysis. The results are different, which comes from different mathematical models. 50% of results are same between the corresponding analysis and the multiple corresponding analysis. 26.3% are same between the adjusted residuals and the corresponding analysis. 21.1% are same between the adjusted residuals and the multiple corresponding analysis. We recommend the adjusted residuals because it can test hypothesis for preferring contents. The content which is not chosen by three methods is business.

  • Recently, mobile devices support multi-functions such as 3D game, wireless internet, moving pictures, DMB, GPS, and PMP. Bigger size of display device is indispensable to support these functions and higher speed of the interface is needed. However, conventional parallel interfaces between processor and display nodule are not competent enough for that high speed transfers. High-speed serial interface is beginning to appear as an alternative for parallel interface. The advantages of the serial interface are high bandwidth, small number of interconnections, low-power consumption, and good quality of electro-magnetic interference. In this paper, we implement serial interface and use it for a display module. LVDS is used for PHY layer and a defined packet is used for link layer. The feature of the implemented serial interface is the reduced number of interconnections with enough bandwidth.

  • We propose a low-power and high-speed client receiver for a mobile display digital interface (MDDI) newly in this paper. The low-power receiver is designed such that bias currents, sink and source currents, are insensitive to variations of power supply, process, temperature, and common-mode input voltage (VCM) and is able to operate at a rate of 450Mbps or above under the conditions of a power supply range of 3.0 to 3.6Vand a temperature range of -40 to 85$^{\circ}$C. And it is confirmed by a simulation result that the current dissipation is less than 500${\mu}$A. A test chip is manufactured with the Magna chip 0.35${\mu}$m CMOS process. When a test was done, the data receiver and data recovery circuits are functioning normally.

  • The PLL synthesizer is used in communication system until now because it have several merits, such as broad bandwidth, high accuracy and stability of frequency But it is difficult to use in the third generation mobile communication systems that need frequency hopping at a high speed because of its long frequency hopping time. In this paper, we designed the frequency synthesizer that generate frequencies randomly at a high speed using the DDS technology.

  • A new Smart rower IC's based on the Partial SOI technology was designed for such applications as mobile communication systems, high-speed HDD systems etc. A new methodology of integrating a 0.8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ BiCMOS compatible Smart Power technology, high voltage bipolar device, high speed SAVEN bipolar device, LDD NMOSFET and a new LDMOSFET based on the Partial SOI technology is presented in this paper. The high voltage bipolar device has a breakdown voltage of 40V for the output stage of analog circuit. The optimized Partial SOI LDMOSFET has an off-state breakdown voltage of 75 V and a specific on- resistance of 0.249mΩ.$\textrm{cm}^2$ with the drift region length of 3.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The high-speed SAVEN bipolar device shows cut-off frequency of about 21㎓. The simulator DIOS and DESSIS has been used to get these results.

  • We research a competitive advantage of telecom bundling package of three mobile telecom company by figuring out utility that consumers perceived and focused on mobile telecom and high speed internet in one bundled package. As a method, conjoint analysis was applied. And in conclusion, consumers considered retaining mobile telecom company as the most important factor to them and branding as the following important one when one bundled package of telecom service is provided in total market. When the market is divided into two submarkets and the second largest submarket is analyzed personal bundled package was most important and three year agreement with a stipulated discount has the highest utility. As a result of this analysis, mobile telecom company managers need to organize bundled package after consideration of their current position and brand power in the market, and then devise proper market strategy

  • Mobile robot has various sensors for describing the external world. The ultrasonic sensor widely applied to the most mobile robot to detect the obstacle and environment owing to low cost, its easy to use. However, ultrasonic sensor has major problems: the uncertainty information of sensor, false readings caused by specular reflection, multi path effect, low angular resolution and sensitivity to changes in temperature and humidity. This paper describes a sensor system for map building of mobile robot. It was made of low cost PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) sensor array and high speed RISC MPU. PSD sensor is cost effective and light weighting but its output signal has many noises. We propose heuristic S/W filter to effectively remove these noises. The developed map building sensor system was equipped on a mobile robot and was compared with ultrasonic sensor through field test.

  • Mobile devices such as smartphones are very attractive targets for augmented reality (AR) services, but their limited resources make it difficult to increase the number of objects to be recognized. When the recognition process is scaled to a large number of objects, it typically requires significant computation time and memory. Therefore, most large-scale mobile AR systems rely on a server to outsource recognition process to a high-performance PC, but this limits the scenarios available in the AR services. As a part of realizing large-scale standalone mobile AR, this paper presents a solution to the problem of accuracy, memory, and speed for large-scale object recognition. To this end, we design our own basic feature and realize spatial locality, selective feature extraction, rough pose estimation, and selective feature matching. Experiments are performed to verify the appropriateness of the proposed method for realizing large-scale standalone mobile AR in terms of efficiency and accuracy.
