DC-DC Converter용 자성박막 인덕터 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design of Magnetic Thin Film Inductors for DC-DC Converter Applications)

  • In this study, the optimum structure of a magnetic thin film inductor was designed for application of DC-DC converters. The Ni$\sub$81/Fe$\sub$19/ (at%) alloy was selected as a high-frequency($\geq$MHz) magnetic thin film magnetron sputtering system. As-deposited NiFe thin films show similar magnetic properties compared to bulk NiFe alloys, indicating that they have a good film quality. The optimum design of dolenoid-type magnetic thin film inductors was performed utilizing a Maxwell computer simulator (Ansoftt HFSS V7.0 for PC) and parameters obtained from the magnetic properties of magnetic core materials selected. The high-frequency characteristics of the inductance(L) and quality factor(Q) obtained for the designed inductors through simulation agreed well with those obtained by theoretical calculations, confirming that the simulated result is realistic. The optimum structure of high-performance (Q$\geq$60, L = 1${\mu}$H, efficiency $\geq$90%), high-frequency ($\geq$5MHz), and solenoid-type magnetic thin film inductors was designed successfully.

  • SiGe heterojuction bipolar transistors (HBT) have been studied and applied for advanced high speed integrated circuits. Device characteristics of SiGe HBT depending on the Ge profile of the transistor base region have been analysed using a device simulator, ATLAS/BLAZE. The models and parameters have been calibrated to the measured characteristics of the device, having a trapeziodal base profile, including the cut-off frequency of 45GHz and the dc current gain of 200. The Ge concentration which increases linearly, exponentially, or root-functionally from the emitter-base junction to the base-collector junction, has been tried to find out the influence on the device characteristics. The cut-off frequency and gain rather strongly depends on the exponential and root-functional Ge base profiles, respectively.

  • Thermo-plastic has generally bad electrical characteristics at high temperature comparing to thermoset-plastics when the plastic apply to electrical power apparatus as an electrical insulator. To solve the problem, we study engineering plastics such as Polyamide and Polyphthalamide as a base resin. And filler of the engineering plastics is glass fiber. Electrical characteristics studied are permittivity, loss factor and breakdown strength according to temperature and frequency of measuring signal. Electrical characteristics of Polyphthalamide has good temperature and frequency dependency comparing to those of Polyamide.

디자인유형의 차이가 주시특성에 끼치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of the Difference at Design Pattern on the Characteristics of Observation)

  • This study divided the observation area in an indoor space for area setup to analyse the effect of the difference of design types on the characteristics of observation with the observed time of each area as objects. Though it is thought that the difference of design patterns may be influenced by the factors and material composing the space, no existing approaches have had any quantitatively measuring method. Eye-tracking could be efficiently utilized for observation analysis from the viewpoint of dating observation behavior. The followings are the results of analysing the observation characteristics depending on design pattern. First, 5 observing areas were set up according to concentration of observation time in order for the concentration by area to be examined and the factors of design having effect on the difference of observation patterns by design type could be analysed. Second, as a whole, the observation of modern types showed high observation characteristics. When the difference of observation characteristics by pattern was examined by difference at observation frequency, the observation frequency defined to be more than 50% was seen to be almost same from Area I to III and to get higher from Area IV, and that defined to be 30% was high at Areas III and IV. In Area V, it was very high at natural. Third, that of Area II is no more than 8.2% but had the most observation time. As for observation characteristics, the horizontal observation of the central part was the highest and had more observation frequency at modern type that at natural one. These observation characteristics by area enabled to analyse the observation tendency depending on design characters at relevant area. Fourth, the design factors composing natural type were found to bring more attention when the area showed higher concentration at natural type than at modern one. And the analysis of design factors could make it to be confirmed that the quality of material and background factors in addition to design factors in the area had more effect on sight concentration.

복합 ferroxplana 전파흡수체의 재료정수와 전파흡수 특성 (The Material Constants and Microwave Absorbing Characteristics of ferroxplana Composite Microwave Absorber )

  • 본 연구에서는 복합 ferroxplana 전파흠수체의 X-band에서의 재료정수와 전파흡수특성과의 상관관계를 규명하였다. Ferroxplana 분말과 지지재인 고무와의 함량비(F/R)가 증가함에 따라 ${\mu}_{r}'$은 감소하며, ${\mu}_{r}"$은 증가하였다. 전파흡수체의 두께가 증가함에 따라 최대반사감쇠량이 얻어지는 주파수 가 낮은쪽으로 이동하였으며, 흡수체의 두께가 2.6mm인 경우에는 대역폭이 우수하였고, 두께가 3.2mm인 경우에는 반사감쇠량이 우수하였다. 복합 ferroxplana 전파흡수체의 재료 정수를 광대역화에 요구되는 전파흡수체의 재료정수영역에 적용하여 전파흡수특성을 정량적으로 도출하였으며 이러한 재료 정수영역의 설정은 광대역 ferrite 전파흡수체의 설계지침으로 활용이 가능하다.

  • In this paper, design method for a high frequency transformer with high insulation is presented. The insulation performance of the high frequency transformer is determined by the distance between primary and secondary windings, and the characteristics of dielectric material. For the voltage strength safty, a high frequency transformer model is designed. By using computer simulation, the transformer model is evaluated.

  • In contrast to a conventional transformer, the flat transformer is made using a number of small ferrite cores. Two cores for transformer and one core for inductor, which composed one module. Many modules can be connected together to form a flat matrix transformer. This structural arrangement eliminates the single hot spot problem in conventional transformers and permits high current density pertains at high frequency. In this study, the ferrite magnetic cores of Mn-Zn system for the Flat transformer were manufactured and the electrical and magnetic characteristics of its tested. The power loss of sample FO2(Mn-Zn ferrite) sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ was $350kW/m^3$ in test conditions of 250kHz, 200mT and $100^{\circ}C$, which showed the good power loss property in high frequency. The power loss of FO2 samples has been studied as a function of magnetic flux density and frequency. Steinmetz exponent was 2.82 at 250kHz and 2.73 at 500kHz. These results illustrated the switching of power loss mechanism in ferrite core from hysteresis losses to eddy current losses or others.

압축된 고무재료의 정적 변형 해석과 동특성 예측 (Static Deformation Analysis and Dynamic Characteristics Predicton of Compressed Rubber Materials)

  • The effect of static preload on the dynamic properties of rubber materials is rather important, especially when good isolation characteristics are required at high frequencies. However, there are still few papers for dynamic characteristics of compressed rubber components. It was demonstrated in reference (4) that for bonded rubber material of a cylindrical shape, a simplified theory equation between linear dynamic and nonlinear static behavior of rubber material was useful to predict their combined effects. This paper presents the second part of the study. It is confirmed that for the compressed rubber material, the stress can be factored into a function of frequency and a function of strain(stretch). The finite element methodis applied to analyze non-linear large deformation of rubber material and its results are compared with those of a simplified theory equation. The predicted dynamic material properties based on non-linear static finite element analyses have a good agreement of experimental results and those based on simplified theory equation.

열처리 온도에 따른 Li 도펀트 ZnO 박막형 공진기의 주파수 특성 (Frequency Characteristics of Li Doped ZnO Thin Film Resonator by Annealing Temperatures)

  • In order to study the influence of post-annealing treatment on the frequency characteristics of the Li doped ZnO(Li:ZnO) FBAR(Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator) device, we investigated the material and electrical properties of Li:ZnO films in the annealing temperature range from 300 to $500^{\circ}C$. In our samples, as annealing temperature was increased, Li:ZnO films showed the improvement of high c-axis orientation and resistance value with relieved stress and low surface roughness. In addition to, the return loss in the frequency property of fabricated FBAR was improved by annealing treatment from 24.9 to 29.8dB. From experimental results, the optimum post-annealing temperature for FBAR is $500^{\circ}C$ and it can obtain excellent Li:ZnO FBAR performance with stronger c-axis orientation, smoother surface, relieved stress, and lower loss factor.

Duplex Stainless Steel의 저온 플라즈마 침질탄화시 Pulse Frequency 및 Duty Factor에 따른 표면 특성평가 (The Influence of Pulse Frequency and Duty Factor on Surface Characteristics during Low Temperature Plasma Nitrocarburizing Treatment of Duplex Stainless Steel)

  • A low temperature plasma nitrocarburizng was implemented on the duplex stainless steel to achieve the enhancement of surface hardness without degradation of its corrosion resistance. Attempts were made to investigate the influence of Pulse frequency and Duty factor of pulsed power in a high Pulse frequency regime on the surface characteristics of the hardened layer. The hardened layer (S-phase) was formed on all of the treated surfaces. Surface hardness reached up to 1300 $HV_{0.1}$ which is about 4.6 times higher than that of the untreated material (280 $HV_{0.1}$). The thickness of the hardened layer tends to increase lightly with the higher Pulse frequency and the higher Duty factor. The corrosion resistance of nitrocarburized duplex stainless steel was almost similar to that of the untreated material. Both the Pulse frequency and the Duty factor do not have a significant influence on the corrosion property of plasma treated duplex stainless steel.
