  • One of the major problems with the livestock industry is that in the summer, livestock will die from heat waves or infectious diseases. Under these circumstances, what livestock need is a proper indoor temperature and a regular sterilization system. Therefore, in this study, we developed a system that automatically controls the power of the fan according to the temperature inside the shaft, and a function that provides feed and sterilization on a regular basis, so that we could manage the toast efficiently. It also proposed the ability to automatically control the power of the fan, to display the temperature inside the shaft to mobile applications, and to provide food and sterilization. First, the function of controlling the power of the fan automatically turns the fan on when the temperature inside the shaft rises above a certain level. Conversely, if the temperature inside the shaft falls below a certain level, turn off the fan. Second, the function of the mobile application is to check the temperature inside the shaft. The third feeding function is periodically fed using a servo motor, and the feeding provided is delivered to livestock through a conveyor belt. Finally, the sterilization function is a function to sterilize livestock periodically using DC motor pump. The intelligent congratulatory functions proposed in this study may contribute to the health of livestock.

  • With the development of IT technology recently, medical information systems are being constructed in an integrated u-health environment through cloud services, IoT technologies, and mobile applications. These kinds of medical information systems should provide the medical staff with authorities to access patients' medical information for emergency status treatments or therapeutic purposes. Therefore, in the medical information systems, the reliable and prompt authentication processes are necessary to access the biometric information and the medical information of the patients in charge of the medical staff. However, medical information systems are accessing with simple and static user authentication mechanism using only medical ID / PWD in the present system environment. For this reason, in this paper, we suggest a dynamic situation authentication mechanism that provides transparency of medical information access including various authentication factors considering patient's emergency status condition and dynamic situation authentication system supporting it. Our dynamic Situation Authentication is a combination of user authentication and mobile device authentication, which includes various authentication factor attributes such as emergency status, role of medical staff, their working hours, and their working positions and so forth. We designed and implemented a dynamic situation authentication system including emergency status decision, dynamic situation authentication, and authentication support DB construction. Finally, in order to verify the serviceability of the suggested dynamic situation authentication system, the medical staffs download the mobile application from the medical information server to the medical staff's own mobile device together with the dynamic situation authentication process and the permission to access medical information to the patient and showed access to medical information.

  • Purpose: The Pedisole is a newly developed shoe-mounted wearable assessment system for analyzing balance and gait. This study aimed to determine the reliability and validity of the parameters provided by the system for static balance and gait analysis of healthy adults. Methods: This study included 38 healthy adults (22.4±1.9 years) with no history of injury in the lower limbs. All participants were asked to perform balance and gait tasks for undertaking measurements. For analysis of balance, both the smart Pedisole and Pedoscan systems were concurrently used to analyze the path length of the center of pressure (COP) and the weight ratio of the left and right for 10 s. Gait was measured using the smart Pedisole and GaitRite walkway systems simultaneously. The participants walked at a self-selected preferred gait speed. The cadence, stance time, swing time, and step time were used to analyze gait characteristics. Using the paired t-test, the intra-class coefficient correlation (ICC) was calculated for reliability. The Spearman correlation was used to assess the validity of the measurements. In total, data for balance from 36 participants and the gait profiles of 37 participants were evaluated. Results: There were significant differences between the COP path lengths (p<.050) derived from the two systems, and a significant correlation was found for COP path length (r=.382~.523) for static balance. The ICC for COP path length and weight ratio was found to be greater than .687, indicating moderate agreement in balance parameters. The ICC of gait parameters was found to be greater than .697 except for stance time, and there was significant correlation (r=.678~.922) with the GaitRite system. Conclusion: The newly developed smart insole-type Pedisole system and the related application are useful, reliable, and valid tools for balance and gait analysis compared to the gold standard Pedoscan and the GaitRite systems in healthy individuals.

  • Purpose: Although numerous systematic reviews or meta-analysis have reported the hypotensive effects of garlic, the application of these results in the area of functional food is limited. This is because the trials used various garlic preparations and patients with differing hypertensive intensities. To validate the use of garlic powder as a blood pressure lowering functional food, we performed the current meta-analysis, focusing on the study of prehypertensive subjects. Methods: Literature search was carried out using various database up to July 2020, including PubMed, Cochrane, ScienceDirect and Korean studies Information Service System, and each study was screened by pre-stated inclusion/exclusion criteria. We identified nine trials that met the eligibility, of which two studies with moderate or high risk of bias were excluded. Results: Meta-analysis of the seven studies revealed that an intake of garlic powder significantly lowered the systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) by -6.0 mmHg (95% confidence interval [CI], -11.2, -0.8; p = 0.025) and -2.7 mmHg (95% CI, -5.3, -0.1; p = 0.046), respectively. Shapes of the funnel plot for both SBP and DBP seemed symmetrical, and the Egger's regression revealed no publication bias. Moreover, duration of the intervention period was inversely associated with the pooled effects of garlic powder on SBP (p = 0.019) and DBP (p = 0.019), and this result was supported by the subgroup-analysis. The daily dose of garlic powder, baseline value of each biomarker, and subject number, did not moderate the effects on SBP and DBP. Conclusion: Results of the present meta-analysis indicate that garlic powder supplements are superior to placebo for improving the BP in prehypertensive individuals.

  • Korea's National Treasure No. 229, the Jagyeongnu (clepsydra) of Changgyeonggung Palace, is a scientific and cultural property representing the pinnacle of science and technology in the Joseon Dynasty. Currently, only the large, mid-sie, and small Pasuhos (bronze jars) remain. During a nearly two-year conservation project by the Cultural Heritage Conservation Science Center (CHCSC) that began in 2018, conservators identified the contaminants on the surface of the water clock's components. It turned out that the contaminants had been caused by the exposure of squalane and silicone oil, used in an earlier preservation treatment, to the elements. The CHCSC conducted experiments to determine the most effective method to remove the contaminants. First, the conservators tried using an organic solvent, a poultice, and the application of toluene and bentonite, which yielded excellent reactivity and significant color difference changes (𝚫E). However, the reactivity was insufficiently effective to warrant the health hazards to the conservators and the environment (toluene is toxic). Although organic solvents required considerably more effort, time, and human resources, the conservators confirmed that their use achieved a true color difference variation (𝚫E) that was within the same range as the toxic hydrocarbon. Thus, they confirmed that using an organic surfactant was the best method for removing the contaminants.

  • The COVID-19 crisis inevitably led to full-scale non-face-to-face education in 2020. The researchers selected five universities out of 48 universities in radiology and radiology departments nationwide (1.2 in 2019 and 1.2 in 2020) to examine the results of face-to-face training and non-face-to-face mock tests conducted by senior students in radiology departments and radiology departments of the national health department (12 in 2019 and 1.2 in 2020) in preparation for the license test. It turned out to be. Comparing the results of face-to-face and non-face-to-face training (two in 2019 and two in 2020), statistics were analyzed by nonparametric tests, and the results showed that there were differences in theory (Z=-2.023, p<0.05, application (Z=-2.023), p<0.05), practical skills (Z=-1.753, and p<0.05). As a result of the mock test, non-face-to-face education results in poor grades compared to face-to-face education, it is believed that lectures should be taught differently or various educational methods that can communicate with students should be combined.

  • In recent years, with the rapid development of large and medium-sized urban rail transit in China, the total operating mileage of high-speed railway and the total number of EMUs(Electric Multiple Units) are rising. The system complexity of high-speed EMU is constantly increasing, which puts forward higher requirements for the safety of equipment and the efficiency of maintenance. At present, the maintenance mode of high-speed EMU in China still adopts the post maintenance method based on planned maintenance and fault maintenance, which leads to insufficient or excessive maintenance, reduces the efficiency of equipment fault handling, and increases the maintenance cost. Based on the intelligent operation and maintenance technology of PHM(prognostics and health management). This thesis builds an integrated PHM platform of "vehicle system-communication system-ground system" by integrating multi-source heterogeneous data of different scenarios of high-speed EMU, and combines the equipment fault mechanism with artificial intelligence algorithms to build a fault prediction model for traction motors of high-speed EMU.Reliable fault prediction and accurate maintenance shall be carried out in advance to ensure safe and efficient operation of high-speed EMU.

  • The aim of this paper is to analyze the educational gap between 250 local governments, by their location and size, in terms of the efficiency of education. For the analysis, this paper employed the data envelopment analysis(DEA), which can consider input and output factors simultaneously, as a research method. Input factor included student number per teacher, student number per class, student number per staff, and donation fund per student, whereas college entrance rate and employment rate were used as output factor. The data were collected through 'the school information' website. Research target was confined to high schools, taking into consideration the variables used for output factor. As a result of analysis, while the high schools in local governments around the capital area showed the high density of students in terms of input factor, college entrance rate and employment rate were higher in the high schools of non-capital area. An efficiency score was also higher in the schools of the non-capital area in both aspects of BCC and CCR models. By the size of local governments, high schools in agricultural-type and small-sized local governments were higher in the efficiency of education, compared to those in populated local governments.

  • Recently, as an aging society progresses, a lot of interest in health and diagnosis is increasing, As the field of various bio-imaging systems for guided surgery capable of accurate diagnosis has emerged as important, a Fluorescence imaging system capable of accurate measurement and real-time confirmation has emerged as an important field. Fluorescence images currently being used are mainly in the NIR-I band, but many studies are in progress in the NIR-II band in order to improve resolution and confirm fluorescence deeply and accurately. In this paper, the difference between NIR-I and NIR-II, optical characteristics, and SBR (signal to background ration) of a fluorescent imaging system, was investigated using the finite element (FEM) method. After confirming, it was confirmed that the SBR was 16.2 times higher in the NIR-II area than in the NIR-I by making the skin phantom and measuring the fluorescence. It is confirmed that the enhancement in SBR of the Fluorescence imaging system is more effective in the NIR-II region than in the NIR-I region and expected to be used in application fields such as guided surgery, bio-sensor and also device which can detect the defect of optical devices.
