Nonlinear Vibrations of Piezoelectric Microactuators in Hard Disk Drives (하드디스크 드라이브용 압전형 마이크로 액추에이터의 비선형 진동 특성)

  • Nonlinear vibration characteristics of a piezoelectric-type micro actuator used for hard disk drives are experimentally studied. The nonlinear characterisitics include hysteresis, superharmonic resonance, jump phenomenon, and shifting of natural frequencies. The vibration modes and frequencies of the commercial actuator of the Hutchinson's Magnum series are measured using a laser vibrometer. From harmonic excitation to the PZT acturator, we observe interesting hysteresis patterns with 3 times input frequency. It is shown that the micro actuator has the typical 3 times superhamonic resonances coupled to the first torsional and sway modes of the suspension.

  • The position control accuracy of a robot arm is significantly deteriorated when a long arm robot is operated at a high speed. In this case, the robot arm must be modeled as a flexible structure, not a rigid one, and its control system should be designed with its elastic modes taken into account. In this paper, the tip position control scheme of a one-link flexible manipulator using 2-DOF controller with sliding mode is presented. The robot consists of a flexible arm manufactured with a thin aluminium plate, an AC servo motor with a harmonic drive for speed reduction, an optical encoder and a CCD camera as a vision sensor for on-line measuring the tip deflection of the flexible m. Simulation and experimental results of the flexible manipulator with a proposed controller are provided to show the effectiveness of the controller.

  • The 3-level inverter is applied to the induction motor drive as the voltage type inverter for large poller one. This inverter divides the DC link voltage into the two parts and it is supplied to the inverter. The 3-level inverter can reduces the voltage between the each devices, and get more sinusoidal current waveform. This paper presents the new PWM method which can reduces the harmonics. The modulation at the inverter side is implemented using a DSP microprocessor.

  • The objective of this paper is to present a quantitative analysis leading to the assessment of optimum terminating impedances in the design of active frequency multipliers. A brief analysis of the basic principal of the GaAs FET frequency multiplier is presented. The analysis is outlined in bias optimization and drive power determination. Utilizing the equivalent circuit model of GaAs FET, we have simulated the optimized load impedance for the maximum output of the active frequency multipliers. The C-class and reverse C-class frequency doublers have been fabricated and the load impedances have been measured. The experimental results are in good agreement with the estimated results in the simulation with the accuracy of 90%.

  • This paper presents a design method of driving system for EV(Electric Vehicle). EV driving system consist of batteries, battery interface system and inverter. The power control circuit of the driving system is simple, since only one PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) inverter is used. These test spectrums and waveforms can be used to determine the filter component ratings as well as to compute the harmonics injected into the source. The hybrid control strategy which can reduced harmonic components. The analysis results indicate that the required capacity of the condenser can be reduced with LC filter. In this paper, the design and implementation of the proposed systems are described and some experimental results are given to show the performance of this driving system. The control strategy of the system to available inverter's power and motor's power and torque is discussed.

  • Brushless DC Motor(PM BLDCM) is widely used in industrial applications due to its high efficiency and power density. In order to increase reliability and reduce system cost, this paper studies particularly applicable method for sensorless PM BLDCM drive system. The resulting third harmonic signal keeps a constant phase relationship with the rotor flux for any motor speed and load condition, and is practically free of noise that can be introduced by the inverter switching, making this a robust sensing method. As a result, the method described here is not sensitive to filtering delays, allowing the motor to achieve a good performance over a wide speed range. In addition, a simple starting method and a speed estimation approach are also proposed.

  • This paper proposes problem improvement in existing method about three-phase current reconstruction method and present minimum voltage injection method and Smooth voltage injection method in single current sensor for washing machine motor drive. So, presented wash noise improvement method through ripple reduction in inverter. The simulation and experimental results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method for reconstructing the phase currents and reducing the noises.

  • 본 논문에서는 소용량의 직류단 캐패시터를 가지는 교류전동기 구동 시스템의 전류 주입 방식 기반의 새로운 입력 전류 고조파 저감 방법에 대해 논의한다. 소용량 직류단 캐패시터를 가지는 전동기 구동 시스템의 가격 및 부피의 경쟁력을 유지하면서 주어진 고조파 규제를 만족시킬 수 있도록, 최소의 비용 추가로 입력 전류의 고조파를 저감하기 위한 새로운 회로를 제안하고, 제안된 회로를 이용하여 최적의 성능을 얻을 수 있는 제어 방법을 소개한다. 제안된 회로 구성 및 제어 방법의 타당성은 실험을 통하여 검증한다.

  • A major problem in conventional multilevel inverter is that an increase in power semiconductor switches causes an increase in cost and switching losses of the inverter. The multicarrier strategy adopted for the multilevel inverters has become more popular due to reduced cost, lower harmonic distortion, and higher voltage capability than the conventional switching strategy applied to inverters. Various topologies and modulation strategies have been reported for utility and drive applications. Level shifted based pulse width modulation techniques are proposed to investigate the performance of the multilevel inverter. The proposed work focuses on reducing the utilized switches so that the cost and the switching losses of the inverter do not go up and the consistent efficiency could be achieved. This paper presents the detailed analysis of these topologies. The analysis is based on the number of switches, DC sources, output level, maximum voltage, and the efficiency. As an illustration, single phase cascaded multilevel inverter topologies are simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK and the experimental results demonstrate the viability of these inverters.

Design of Active Control Engine Mount Using Direct Drive Electrodynamic Actuator (전동식 직접 구동형 능동 엔진 마운트의 설계)

  • This paper is focused on design of a new active control engine mount (ACM), which is compact in size and cost effective. The ACM, consisting of an electrodynamic actuator as the active element, flat springs and a sliding ball joint, is different in structure from the previous ACM designs based on the conventional hydraulic engine mount. Dynamic characteristics of the proposed ACM are extensively investigated before a prototype ACM, which meets the design specifications, is built in the laboratory. For cost effectiveness, a feed-forward control algorithm without a feedback sensor is used for reduction of the transmitted force through the ACM from the engine. The prototype ACM is then harmonic-tested with a rubber testing machine for verification of its control performance as well as adequacy of modeling. Experimental results show that the proposed ACM is capable of reducing the transmitted force by 20 dB up to the frequency range of 60 Hz.
