Post Annealing Effects on the Electrical Properties of Polysilicon Metal-Semiconductor-Metal Photodetectors (폴리 실리콘을 이용한 금속-반도체-금속 광 검출기의 열처리에 따른 전기적 특성)

  • This study investigated the effects of the post annealing temperatures on the electrical and interfacial properties of a metal-semiconductor-metal photodetector(MSM-PD) device. The interdigitate type MSM-PD devices had the structure Al(500 nm) / Ti(200 nm) / poly-Si(500 nm). Structural analyses of the MSM-PD devices were performed by employing X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscope(TEM). Electrical characteristics of the MSM-PD were also examined using current-voltage(I-V) measurements. The optimal post annealing condition for the Schottky contact of MSM-PD devices are $350^{\circ}C$-30minutes. However, as the annealing temperature and time are increased, electrical characteristics of MSM-PD device are degraded. Especially, for the annealing conditions of $400^{\circ}C$-180minutes and $500^{\circ}C$-30minutes, the I-V measurement itself was impossible. These results are closely related to the solid phase reactions at the interface of MSM-PD device, which result in the formation of intermetallic compounds such as $Al_3Ti$ and $Ti_7Al_5Si_{12}$.

Re-coloring Methods using the HSV Color Space for people with the Red-green Color Vision Deficiency (적록 색각 이상자를 위한 HSV색공간을 이용한 색변환 기법)

  • This paper proposes a new re-coloring method for the people with the red-green color vision deficiency (CVD). These people have difficulty in discriminating the red and green colors since they abnormally perceive the hue and luminance value of the colors. We introduce a color transformation that adjusts the hue and luminance value in HSV color space. The color transformation is determined according to the severity of CVD. Our aim is to maintain the color differences in original image while maintaining the recolored image to be natural to the people with normal color vision. Experimental results show that the proposed method can yield more comprehensible images for the people with red-green CVD while maintaining the naturalness of the recolored images.

  • Green technologies such as renewable energy resources, Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (EVs/PHEVs), electric locomotives, etc. are continually increasing at the existing power network especially distribution levels, which are Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV). It can be noted that the increasing level of green technologies is driven by the reduction emission policies of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$). The green technologies can affect the quality of power, and hence its impacts of are analysed. In practical, the environment such as wind, solar irradiation, temperature etc. are uncontrollable, and therefore the output power of renewable energy in that area can be varied. Moreover, the technology of the EVs/PHEVs is still developed in order to improve the performance of supply and driving systems. This means that these developed can cause harmonic distortion as the control system is mostly used power electronics. Therefore, this paper aims to analyse the voltage variation and harmonic distortion in distribution power network in urban area in Europe due to the combination between wind turbine, hydro turbine, photovoltaic (PV) system and EVs/PHEVs. More realistic penetration levels of SSDGs and EVs/PHEVs as forecasted for 2020 is used to analyse. The dynamic load demands are also taken into account. In order to ensure the accurate of simulation results, the practical parameters of distribution system are used and the international standards such as Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards are also complied. The suggestion solutions are also presented. The MATLAB/Simulink software is chosen as it can support complicate modelling and analysis.

  • The flexible 2-inch AMOLED with $176{\times}144$ pixels has been demonstrated using top emission OLED driven by organic thin film transistors (OTFTs). For the development of AMOLED display on plastic substrate, we have developed several integration and unit process technologies. Through the optimization of the process based on plastic substrate, OTFT backplane with 2 transistors and 1 capacitor in a pixel has been fabricated and integrated with top emission OLED. The active addressing by OTFT driving circuit has been achieved and green light with 15 $cd/m^2$ at 15V has been observed.

  • A new method was developed to fabricate 1-3 piezo composite, a part of ultrasonic transducer. PZT rod arrays were made by pressing PZT green sheet with LIGA mold, and were sintered. Its dielectric constant and electro-mechanical coupling coefficient showed 4000 and 55% at 1kHz, respectively. So, PZT rod arrays made by means of this process can be applied to ultrasonic transducer.

  • Air gap control method using a conventional actuator for near field recording technology has been reported. To achieve good performance in the air gap servo and further experiments, the assembling between OL and SIL is the critical procedure. A lens set with NA 1.45 at 405 m has been assembled and tested by using a Twyman-Green interferometer. The tolerance of assembling is very tight and the designing and adjusting procedure must be carefully controlled.

  • A study was conducted in order to remove PVC from the waste plastic film mixture. The fittings of Air Table was modified to increase the separation efficiency of PVC. By using the improved air table, the PE and PVC was successfully separated from PVC-PE film mixture with the yield of PE 90% or more and with the content of PVC in PE 1% or less. The detail of the separation condition and result will be discussed in this paper.

  • Recently, many countries around the world are investing heavily in green industries based on green IT technology. The key industry in the green industry is LED. If we replace traditional lighting, we can save a lot of socioeconomic costs. Because it is energy efficient. However, the research and development on maintenance and management are still insignificant about LED lighting. Therefore, after the failure, the post-treatment is delayed and often occurs. In order to solve these problems, it is planned to detect the failure of the LED lighting and to establish a monitoring system that can monitor the situation in real time on the computer or mobile phone of the remote manager using the latest IoT network technology.

  • In this paper, a novel method is presented for efficient calculation of the spatial-domain Green's functions of 2D electromagnetic problems. This method combines spectral and spatial domain calculation schemes and prevents the Green's functions from diverging at the singularities that complicate the process of the Method of Moment(MoM) application. For the validation of this proposed method, fields will be evaluated along the spatial distance including zero distance for 2D free-space and periodic homogeneous geometry. The numerical results show the validity of the prosed method and correspondng physics.

  • We have fabricated and evaluated newNew high high-efficiency green green-light light-emitting phosphorescent devices with an emission layer of [$TCTA/TCTA_{1/3}TAZ_{2/3}/TAZ$] : $Ir(ppy)_3$ were fabricated and evaluated, and compared the electroluminescence characteristics of these devices were compared with the conventional phosphorescent devices with emission layers of ($TCTA_{1/3}TAZ_{2/3}$) : $Ir(ppy)_3$ and (TCTA/TAZ) : $Ir(ppy)_3$. The current density, luminance, and current efficiency of the a device with an emission layer of ($80{\AA}-TCTA/90^{\circ}{\AA}-TCTA_{1/3}TAZ_{2/3}/130{\AA}-TAZ$) : 10%-$Ir(ppy)_3$ were $95\;mA/cm^2$, $25000\;cd/m^2$, and 27 cd/A at an applied voltage of 10 V, respectively. The maximum current efficiency was 52 cd/A under the a luminance value of $400\;cd/m^2$. The peak wavelength and FWHM (FWHM (full width at half maximum) in the electroluminescence spectral were 513 nm and 65 nm, respectively. The color coordinate was (0.30, 0.62) on the CIE (Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage) chart. Under the a luminance of $15000\;cd/m^2$, the current efficiency of the a device with an emission layer of ($80{\AA}-TCTA/90{\AA}-TCTA_{1/3}TAZ_{2/3}/130{\AA}-TAZ$) : 10%-$Ir(ppy)_3$ was 34 cd/A, which has beenshowed an improvement of improved 1.7 and 1.4 times compared to those of the devices with emission layers of ($300{\AA}-TCTA_{1/3}TAZ_{2/3}$) : 10%-$Ir(ppy)_3$ and ($100{\AA}-TCTA/200{\AA}$-TAZ) : 10%-$Ir(ppy)_3$, respectively.
