  • The relationship of mother-child attachment and children's self-perception was assessed in 43 five-year-olds and their mothers. Attachment Q-set(Waters & Deane, 1985) was used to assess attachment security and the Puppet Interview(Cassidy, 1986) to assess global self-esteem. Data were analyzed by t-tests and Pearson's correlations. Attachment security was positively correlated with global self-esteem. Girls had more positive global self-esteem than boys.

  • The first part of the paper deals with a brief introduction of the plant-herbivore model system along with deterministic analysis of local stability and Hopf-bifurcations. The second part consists of stability analysis of the limit cycle arising from Hopf-bifurcation and uniqueness of limit cycle. The third part deals with the study of global stability of the model system under consideration.

  • In this paper, we investigate the local asymptotic stability, the invariant intervals, the global attractivity of the equilibrium points, and the asymptotic behavior of the solutions of the difference equation $x_{n+1}=\frac{a+bx_nx_{n-k}}{A+Bx_n+Cx_{n-k}}$, n = 0, 1,${\ldots}$, where the parameters a, b, A, B, C and the initial conditions $x_{-k}$, ${\ldots}$, $x_{-1}$, $x_0$ are positive real numbers.

  • In this paper, the main purpose is to study existence of the global attractors for the weakly damped wave equation with nonlinear boundary conditions. To this end, we first show that the existence o a bounded absorbing set by the perturbed energy method. Secondly, we utilize the decomposition of the solution operator to verify the asymptotic compactness.

  • In this paper, we consider the convective Cahn-Hilliard equation. Based on the regularity estimates for the semigroups, iteration technique and the classical existence theorem of global attractors, we prove that the convective Cahn-Hilliard equation possesses a global attractor in $H^k$($k\geq0$) space, which attracts any bounded subset of $H^k({\Omega})$ in the $H^k$-norm.

  • We prove global gradient estimates in weighted Orlicz spaces for weak solutions of nonlinear elliptic equations in divergence form over a bounded non-smooth domain as a generalization of Calder$\acute{o}$n-Zygmund theory. For each point and each small scale, the main assumptions are that nonlinearity is assumed to have a uniformly small mean oscillation and that the boundary of the domain is sufficiently flat.

  • It appears our global society and economy are here to stay, despite current events. Mass communications including The Internet, increased world travel, and more and more consumers developing the ability to afford consumer goods, are all helping to bring world cultures closer together. Indeed, the world is rapidly changing and the fashion consumer, is especially affected. Despite the increased commonalities of peoples of the world, culture is a concept crucial to the understanding of consumer behavior. Marketers must understand the values, ethics, and customs of societies around the world to be successful in the global marketplace.

  • A new filled function method is presented in this paper to solve box-constrained nonlinear integer programming problems. It is shown that for a given non-global local minimizer, a better local minimizer can be obtained by local search starting from an improved initial point which is obtained by locally solving a box-constrained integer programming problem. Several illustrative numerical examples are reported to show the efficiency of the present method.

  • To the unconstrained programme of non-convex function, this article give a modified BFGS algorithm. The idea of the algorithm is to modify the approximate Hessian matrix for obtaining the descent direction and guaranteeing the efficacious of the quasi-Newton iteration pattern. We prove the global convergence properties of the algorithm associating with the general form of line search, and prove the quadratic convergence rate of the algorithm under some conditions.

  • In this paper we consider the global convergence of a new super memory gradient method for unconstrained optimization problems. New trust region radius is proposed to make the new method converge stably and averagely, and it will be suitable to solve large scale minimization problems. Some global convergence results are obtained under some mild conditions. Numerical results show that this new method is effective and stable in practical computation.
