We show feasibility of deployment of global wireless communications network with airliners, especially for disastrous vast areas by earthquakes or a tsunami as well as unwired regions of the global to extend Internet access. In this study, we collect flight information data related to civil aircraft passing through, especially South Korea, Japan, United States, and Europe. From the collected data, we obtain hourly available service area ratio and cumulative average service area when airliners are equipped with a long range wireless communication gadget. Then, we reveal that it is possible to deploy global wireless communications network using airliner ad hoc network.

Due to the problems of global warming, the frequency of meteorological extremes such as droughts, floods and the annual rainfall amount are suddenly increasing. Even though the increase of greenhouse gases, for example, is thought to be the main factor for global warming, its impact on global climate has not yet been revealed clearly in rather quantitative manners. Therefore, tile objective of this study is to inquire the change of precipitation condition due to climate change by global warming. In brief, this study want to see its assumption if rainfall quantile estimates are really changing. In order to analyze the temporal change, the rainfall quantile estimates at the Seoul rain gauge stations are estimated for the 21-year data period being moved from 1908 to 2002 with 1-year lag. The main objective of this study is to analyze the variability of rainfall quantile estimates using four methods. Next, The changes in confidence interval of rainfall quantile are evaluated by increasing the data period. It has been found that confidence interval of rainfall quantile estimates is reduced as the data period increases. When the hydraulic structures are to be designed, it is important to select the data size and to re-estimate the flood prevention capacity in existing river systems.

Leucine-responsive Regulatory Protein (Lrp) is a global regulator involved in modulating a variety of metabolic functions, including the catabolism and anabolism of amino acids as well as pili synthesis. In addition, there is growing evidences that Lrp may play an important role when cells make transition between rich and lean nutritional conditions. In this review, the biochemical characteristics of Lrp are described to provide a good example that shows how bacteria adapt to nutrient limitation and environmental stress.

This article explores how we pursue and operate the English medium instruction(EMI) in engineering colleges so as to educate global engineers. Engineering students in the 21st century society need to have fundamental work in languages, cultural differences, and strategies for working with diverse colleagues. EMI is not sufficient for preparing our engineering students to cope with the changed environments in our globalized society. Based on the case study, we emphasize that EMI needs to be located in the context of global engineering education which demands our understanding of different cultures and communication practices. We also suggest some programs how we develop our EMI circumstances.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects which applies teaching program that search solution to prevent global warming in middle school gifted class. This program of total 10 class was theoretical and experimental class and the students presented after collecting the synthetic data about climate-change and roleplayed what they debated to firm their country's opinion about Kyoto Protocol. Finally, students as policymaker made mock Kyoto Protocol by discussion. Impression papers and images about climate-changes was made by students in last class. In discussion of making up mock Kyoto Protocol, developed and developing nations had an argument about carbon dioxide emissions because of their economic benefits. In the course of allocating mutual $CO_2$ reduction, they needed yield and negotiation among nations. Although they mainly took passive position about $CO_2$ reduction, atmosphere that all the country make greater effort for the future global environment was formed. Like this, students had more concepts over climate change by making mock Kyoto Protocol. And they could equipped global scientific literacy and responsibility by participating in social decision making process of solving global environmental issues.

This study compares transformation algorithms for co-registration of terrestrial laser scan data. Pair-wise transformation which is used for transformation of scan data from more than two different view accumulates errors. ICP algorithm commonly used for co-registration between scan data needs initial geometry information. And it is difficult to co-register simultaneously because of too many control points when managing scan at the same time. Therefore, this study perform global registration technique using matching points. Matching points are extracted automatically from intensity image by SIFT and global registration is performed using GP analysis. There are advantages for operation speed, accuracy, automation in suggested global registration algorithm. Through the result from it, registration algorithms can be developed by considering accuracy and speed.

Moringa oleifera leaves, seeds, pods, roots, and flowers have been widely used for their medicinal and nutritional properties. Many studies have been conducted on the chemical composition and effectiveness of M. oleifera. In fact, almost every part of M. oleifera has been found to contain essential nutrients and medicinal value. Especially, the leaves of M. oleifera are known to have various nutrients and diverse efficacy. Several studies have assessed the potential toxicity of the leaves when prepared by various methods. The results showed that the M. oleifera leaves when prepared differently were safe in locally used doses and amounts. Moreover, M. oleifera is known to contain various physiological efficacies, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and anticancer effects and so on. In the latest research, many attempts are being made to utilize the diverse effects of M. oleifera. This research seems to be bringing a promising view of M. oleifera as a therapeutic functional food for various diseases.

The development of informatization impacts all sectors, including agriculture. Agricultural informatization builds the knowledge linkage structures of agricultural innovation systems globally. This study investigated the global knowledge linkage structures in agricultural innovation pertinent to information technology (IT) for agricultural research and development (R&D) investments and activities. We explored the longitudinal trend of systemness within the networked research relationships in the triple helix (TH) of the university, industry and government (UIG). We collected data from publications in the Science Citation Index (SCI), the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), and the Arts and Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI) to analyze the TH network dynamics. We also performed a scientometrics analysis to quantitatively identify the knowledge and insights of global agricultural innovation structures. These results could be informative for individual countries. Our findings reveal that the global knowledge linkage structures in the agricultural sector that are pertinent to IT fluctuate widely and fail to increase the capacity of agricultural innovation research due to a neglect of the network effects of the TH dynamics of UIG.

'Born Global' is a core value that small to medium sized enterprizes (hereinafter SMEs) in Korea are pursuing due to increasing competitiveness and relatively smaller market size in domestic markets. How can we build capabilities to be born global? This paper seeks to find the answer for the question, and investigates the role of psychological ownership of top executives. Results show that psychological ownership of top executives positively influence the ratio of export in revenue, surrogate for global performance. In addition, the results show that psychological ownership can be built through information access, participation in decision making, and procedural justice.

This study examines the increasing influence of the private sorter in global media governance, which represents decentralization of international politics resulted from the rapid globalization in the areas of politics, economy and culture. Introducing a concept of the private authority which theoretically explains increasing power of the private sector, including transnational corporations and business associations in global governance, this study discusses how the private sector and its governance activities ran be recognized as legitimate as those of the state. Based on this theoretical discussion, the study examines what the Increasing role and power of the private sector In global media governance imply with regard to democratic accountability.
