  • This paper focuses on the application of Fuller's ideal gradation curve to theoretically design blended ratio of all solid materials of high performance concrete (HPC), with the aid of error function, and then to study the effect of rice husk ash (RHA) on the performance of HPC. The residual RHA, generated when burning rice husk pellets at temperatures varying from 600 to $800^{\circ}C$, was collected at steam boilers in Vietnam. The properties of fresh and hardened concrete are reviewed. It is possible to obtain the RHA concrete with comparable or better properties than those of the specimen without RHA with lower cement consumption. High flowing concrete designed by the proposed method was obtained without bleeding or segregation. The application of the proposed method for HPC can save over 50% of the consumption of cement and limit the use of water. Its strength efficiency of cement in HPC is 1.4-1.9 times higher than that of the traditional method. Local standards of durability were satisfied at the age of 91 days both by concrete resistivity and ultrasonic pulse velocity.

  • Let I be an ideal in a Gorenstein local ring A with the maximal ideal m and d = dim A. Then we say that I is a good ideal in A, if I contains a reduction $Q=(a_1,a_2,...,a_d)$ generated by d elements in A and $G(I)=\bigoplus_{n\geq0}I^n/I^{n+1}$ of I is a Gorenstein ring with a(G(I)) = 1-d, where a(G(I)) denotes the a-invariant of G(I). Let S = A[Q/a$_1$] and P = mS. In this paper, we show that the following conditions are equivalent. (1) $I^2$ = QI and I = Q:I. (2) $I^2S$ = $a_1$IS and IS = $a_1$S:sIS. (3) $I^2$Sp = $a_1$ISp and ISp = $a_1$Sp :sp ISp. We denote by $X_A(Q)$ the set of good ideals I in $X_A(Q)$ such that I contains Q as a reduction. As a Corollary of this result, we show that $I\inX_A(Q)\Leftrightarrow\IS_P\inX_{SP}(Qp)$.

  • Characterizations of hesitant fuzzy left (right) ideals are considered. The notion of hesitant fuzzy (generalized) bi-ideals is introduced, and related properties are investigated. Relations between hesitant fuzzy generalized bi-ideals and hesitant fuzzy semigroups are discussed, and characterizations of (hesitant fuzzy) generalized bi-ideals and hesitant fuzzy bi-ideals are considered. Given a hesitant fuzzy set $\mathcal{H}$ on a semigroup S, hesitant fuzzy (generalized) bi-ideals generated by $\mathcal{H}$ are established.

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe the structure of the rings $\mathbb{Z}_{p^2}[X]/({\alpha}(X))$ with ${\alpha}(X)$ a monic polynomial and $\={X}^{\kappa}=0$ for some nonnegative integer ${\kappa}$. Especially we will see that any ideal of such rings can be generated by at most two elements of the special form and we will find the 'minimal' set of generators of the ideals. We indicate how to identify the isomorphism types of the ideals as $\mathbb{Z}_{p^2}-modules$ by finding the isomorphism types of the ideals of some particular ring. Also we will find the annihilators of the ideals by finding the most 'economical' way of annihilating the generators of the ideal.

  • Let ${\mathcal{H}}$ be an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space with a fixed orthonormal base $\{e_1,e_2,{\cdots}\}$. Let L be the subspace lattice generated by the subspaces $\{[e_1],[e_1,e_2],[e_1,e_2,e_3],{\cdots}\}$ and let $Alg{\mathcal{L}}$ be the algebra of bounded operators which leave invariant all projections in ${\mathcal{L}}$. Let p and q be natural numbers (p < q). Let ${\mathcal{A}}$ be a linear manifold in $Alg{\mathcal{L}}$ such that $T_{(p,q)}=0$ for all T in ${\mathcal{A}}$. If ${\mathcal{A}}$ is a Lie ideal, then $T_{(p,p)}=T_{(p+1,p+1)}={\cdots}=T_{(q,q)}$ and $T_{(i,j)}=0$, $p{\eqslantless}i{\eqslantless}q$ and i < $j{\eqslantless}q$ for all T in ${\mathcal{A}}$.

  • A ring R is called symmetric, if abc = 0 implies acb = 0 for a, b, c ${\in}$ R. An ideal I of a ring R is called symmetric (resp. radically-symmetric) if R=I (resp. R/$\sqrt{I}$) is a symmetric ring. We first show that symmetric ideals and ideals which have the insertion of factors property are radically-symmetric. We next show that if R is a semicommutative ring, then $T_n$(R) and R[x]=($x^n$) are radically-symmetric, where ($x^n$) is the ideal of R[x] generated by $x^n$. Also we give some examples of radically-symmetric ideals which are not symmetric. Connections between symmetric ideals of R and related ideals of some ring extensions are also shown. In particular we show that if R is a symmetric (or semicommutative) (${\alpha}$, ${\delta}$)-compatible ring, then R[x; ${\alpha}$, ${\delta}$] is a radically-symmetric ring. As a corollary we obtain a generalization of [13].

  • We show that, if R is a graded Noetherian ring and I is a proper ideal of R generated by n homogeneous elements, then any prime ideal of R minimal over I has h-height ${\leq}$ n, and that if R is a graded Noetherian domain with h-dim R ${\leq}$ 2, then the integral closure R' of R is also a graded Noetherian domain with h-dim R' ${\leq}$ 2. We also present a short improved proof of the result that, if R is a graded Noetherian domain, then the integral closure of R is a graded Krull domain.

  • A ring is called left P-coherent if every principal left ideal is finitely presented. Let M be a right R-module with the endomorphism ring S. We mainly study the P-coherence of S. It is shown that S is a left P-coherent ring if and only if the left annihilator $ann_S$(X) is a finitely generated left ideal of S for any M-cyclic submodule X of M if and only if every cyclically M-presented right R-module has an M-torsionfree preenvelope. As applications, we investigate when the endomorphism ring S is left PP or von Neumann regular.

  • In this paper we study exponential growth of Betti numbers over artinian local rings. By the Change of Tor Formula the results in the paper extend to the asymptotic behavior of Betti numbers over Cohen-Macaulay local rings. Using the length function of an artinian ring we calculate an upper bound for the number of generators of modules, this is then used to maximize the number of generators of sygyzy modules. Finally, applying a filtration of an ideal, which we call a Loewy series of an ideal, we derive an invariant B(R) of an artinian local ring R, such that if B(R)>1, then the sequence $b^{R}$$_{i}$ (M) of Betti numbers is strictly increasing and has strong exponential growth for any finitely generated non-free R-module M (Theorem 2.7).).
