  • This paper proposes a solution approach to linear problems with many constraints of variable upper bound (VUB) type. This type of constraints are commonly found in various scheduling type problems for which tighter bounds are essential to achieve an efficiency in enumeration. An analytical framework based on factorization is adopted to devise a solution approach to the problem and extend it for more generalized VUB problem (GVUB). This research shows why the VUB type constraints are amenable to the factorization and gives a unified approach to generalized upper bound(GUB) problems, VUB problems and GVUB problems. Implementation issues are also included.

  • In this paper, we consider a system of generalized nonlinear ordered variational inclusions in real ordered Banach spaces and define an iterative algorithm for a solution of our problems. By using the resolvent operator techniques to prove an existence result for the solution of the system of generalized nonlinear ordered variational inclusions and discuss convergence of sequences suggested by the algorithms.

  • In this paper, we shall give an affirmative answer to the question raised by Kim and Tan [1] dealing with generalized vector quasi-variational inequalities which generalize many existence results on (VVI) and (GVQVI) in the literature. Using the maximal element theorem, we derive two theorems on the existence of weak solutions of (GVQVI), one theorem on the existence of strong solution of (GVQVI), and one theorem on strong solution in the 1-dimensional case.

  • In this paper we consider the dual problems for multiobjective programming with generalized convex functions. We obtain the weak duality and the strong duality. At last, we give an equivalent relationship between saddle point and efficient solution in multiobjective programming.

  • Let G = (V, E) be a connected finite graph. We study the existence of solutions for the following generalized Chern-Simons equation on G $${\Delta}u={\lambda}e^u(e^u-1)^5+4{\pi}\sum_{s=1}^{N}\delta_{ps}$$, where λ > 0, δps is the Dirac mass at the vertex ps, and p1, p2, . . . , pN are arbitrarily chosen distinct vertices on the graph. We show that there exists a critical value $\hat{\lambda}$ such that when λ > $\hat{\lambda}$, the generalized Chern-Simons equation has at least two solutions, when λ = $\hat{\lambda}$, the generalized Chern-Simons equation has a solution, and when λ < $\hat{\lambda}$, the generalized Chern-Simons equation has no solution.

  • In this paper, we define an analogue of generalized Wiener measure and investigate its basic properties. We define (${\hat}It{o}$ type) stochastic integrals with respect to the generalized Wiener process and prove the ${\hat}It{o}$ formula. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of stochastic differential equation associated with the generalized Wiener process is proved. Finally, we generalize the linear filtering theory of Kalman-Bucy to the case of a generalized Wiener process.

  • In [2] A.Hadjidimos proposed the generalized accelerated over-relaxation (GAOR) methods which generalize the basic iterative method for the solution of linear systems. In this paper we consider the convergence of the two parallel accelerated generalized AOR iterative methods and obtain some convergence theorems for the case when the coefficient matrix A is a block diagonally dominant matrix or a generalized block diagonally dominant matrix.

  • In this paper we introduce and study a new class of vari-ational inequalities which are called the generalized strongly nonlin-ear quasi-variational inequalities. An algorithm for finding the ap-proximate solution of generalized strongly nonlinear quasi-variational inequalities is also given. These variational inequalities include the previously known classes of variational inequalities as special cases.

  • A general solution to the field equations of homogeneous isotropic generalized thermoelastic diffusion with two relaxation times (Green and Lindsay theory) has been obtained using the Fourier transform. Assuming the disturbances to be harmonically time.dependent, the transformed solution is obtained in the frequency domain. The application of a time harmonic concentrated and distributed loads have been considered to show the utility of the solution obtained. The transformed components of displacement, stress, temperature distribution and chemical potential distribution are inverted numerically, using a numerical inversion technique. Effect of diffusion on the resulting expressions have been depicted graphically for Green and Lindsay (G-L) and coupled (C-T) theories of thermoelasticity.
