사물탕(四物湯)과 사군자탕(四君子湯)의 전탕액과 그 증류액에 대한 GC분석 실험 (Study on the Gas Chromatography of Samul-tang, Sakunja-tang and their Distillate)

  • The GC pictures were taken to investigate the difference of Samul-tang and Sakunja-tang from their distillate each. For Samul-tang, it's distillate contained many peaks which had been shown very small peaks in the GC picture of the original solution, but the one pick(rt about 7 min.) of the picture didn't been found in the GC picture of the distillate. For Sakunja-tang, it's distillate contained all peaks which had shown in the GC picture of the original solution. After distillation, there was almost no peak in the rest of the solution.

  • Yinqiao San is the medicine for the outer part disease of the human body. In ${\ulcorner}$Wenbingtiobian${\lrcorner}$, this medicine is the most useful when it is used within short time after the starting boiling it. In this study, the volatile ingredients of the Yinqiao San were observed by GC and compared with each other in time scale. Most of the ingredients were observed about 5 min after the starting boiling it, after10 min., the GC peaks were smaller and smaller, and after 2 hours and 30 min. the GC peaks were almost gone. It is confirmed that was written about the Yinqiao San in ${\ulcorner}$Wenbingtiobian${\lrcorner}$.

Identification of Marker Compounds for Discriminating between Embryogenic and Nonembryogenic Calluses of Higher Plants Using Pyrolysis Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry and Genetic Programming

  • When whole cells are subjected to pyrolysis gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) analysis, it provides biochemical profiles containing overlapping signals of the majority of compounds. To determine marker compounds that discriminate embryogenic calluses from nonembryogenic calluses, samples of embryogenic and nonembryogenic calluses of five higher plant species were subjected to Py-GC/MS. Genetic programming of Py-GC/MS data was able to discriminate embryogenic calluses from nonembryogenic calluses. The content ratio of 5-meyhyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde and 5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-furancarboxaldehyde was greater in nonembryogenic calluses than in embryogenic calluses. However, the content ratio of phenol, p-cresol, and $^1H-indole$ in embryogenic calluses was 1.2 to 2.4 times greater than the ratio in nonembryogenic calluses. These pyrolysates seem to be derived from the components of the cell walls, which suggests that differences in cell wall components or changes in the architecture of the cell wall playa crucial role in determining the embryogenic competence of calluses.

Comparison of the Cold-Pressed Peel Oil Composition between ]Korean and Japanese Satsuma Mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marcov. forma Miyagawa-wase) by GC, GC-MS and GC-O

  • The comparison of the volatile flavor components from Korean and Japanese Satsuma mandarin (C. unshiu Marcov. forma Miyagawa-wase) peel oils, isolated by cold-pressing, was performed by gas chromatography, mass-spectrometry and gas chromatography-olfactometry (GC-O). Eighty-five volatile components were identified in each oil by GC and GC-MS. Forty-three components were detected in each oil by GC-O. The total amount of monoterpene hydrocarbons was 95.88% (Korean mandarin) and 95.29% (Japanese mandarin). Limonene, ${\gamma}$-terpinene, myrcene and $\alpha$-pinene were the main components of the cold-pressed oils from the both samples. The volatile composition of the Japanese mandarin was characterized by a higher content of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, especially bicyclogermacrene, $\alpha$-humullene and valencene. The volatile composition of two samples can easily be distinguished by the percentages of aldehydes, ketones and esters, which were found at higher levels in the Japanese mandarin. The sweet and fruity flavor was stronger in the Korean mandarin oil while herbaceous flavor was stronger in Japanese sample. From GC-O data it is suggested that the sweet and fruity flavor of the Korean mandarin resulted from terpinolene and linalool, and the herbaceous note of the Japanese mandarin from $\alpha$-humullene, nepal, ι-carvone and perill aldehyde.

한국산(韓國産) Horseradish 뿌리의 휘발성 풍미 성분 (Volatile Compounds Characterizing the Flavor of Korean Horseradish Roots)

  • Volatile components of Korean horseradish roots harvested at different dates were prepared by steam distillation. Samples were examined by gas chromatography (GC) and combined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The major pungent constituent, allyl isothiocyanate was confirmed add tended to increase with delayed harvest time. Pungent principles also included allyl thiocyanate, 2-phenethyl, 2-butyl, 4- pentenyl, benzyl and 3-methylthiopropyl isothiocyanates. Infrared (IR) spectroscopy study showed that allyl isothiocyanate - thiocyanate interconversion did not occur under the condition of this study.

  • This paper describes a simple procedure for the quantitative analysis of 7 PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) in soils on the waste reclaimed land, The procedure involved sample clean up using silicagel column, acetonitrile partition and sulfuric acid procedures. The instrumental technique is applied GC/PDD(gas chromatography/pulsed discharge detector) and GC/ECD(gas chromatography/electron capture detector). Concentration of $sub-{\mu}g/g$ level was attainable with 20g soils on the waste reclaimed land.

  • Some s-triazine herbicides, namely simazine, atrazine, and propazine present as trace components in a complex mixture were analyzed by GC/MS and GC/MS/MS methods. Even though monitoring the molecular ions was the best in terms of sensitivity, adequate analysis could not be done when interfering species were present. When doubly charged ions which appeared at characteristic m/z values were monitored, chromatograms were rather free from interference. More importantly, selected reaction monitoring was found to provide a selective means of detection with general applicability.

3가지 약용 허브 추출물에 함유된 유기산 검색 및 조성 비교 (The Screening and Pattern Comparison of Organic Acids in 3 Kinds of Medicinal Herbal Extracts)

  • Gas chromatography를 이용한 profiling과 신속한 동정을 허브류에 존재하는 유기산의 분석에 적용하여 보았다. 흡착제로 Chromosorb P와 용출 용매로 diethyl ether를 사용하는 고체상 추출법을 이용하여 허브추출물로부터 유기산을 분리한 후, tert-butyldimethylsilyl 유도체로 만들어 극성이 다른 DB-5와 DB-17 컬럼으로 동시분석하였다. 두 컬럼에서 분리된 유기산 피크들을 dual capillary column system의 retention index(RI) library 탐색과 RI specta 비교로 신속하고 정확하게 동정할 수 있었으며 이들을 GC-MS로 확인하였다. 허브추출물들의 유기산 분석 결과 fatty acid, dioic acid, hydroxy acid, aromatic acid등 24가지의 유기산이 동정되었고 각 허브의 종류에 따라 특징적인 유기산 GC-profile을 나타내었다. 각 허브추출물의 GC profile의 유기산 조성만을 단순화시킨 RI spectra로 표현한 결과, 각 허브의 유기산 패턴의 분별이 매우 용이하였다.

기체크로마토그래피를 이용한 식이보충제에서 메틸설포닐메탄의 검증된 분석법 개발 (Development of a Validated Determination of Methylsulfonylmethane in Dietary Supplement by Gas Chromatography)

  • The convenient determination of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) for a commercially available dietary supplement was developed using gas chromatography (GC)-flame ionization detector (FID). Chromatography was performed on a capillary column ($0.32mm\;I.D{\times}30m$, $0.25{\mu}m$) coated with dimethylpolysiloxane using diethylene glycol methyl ether as an internal standard. The performance characteristics of GC were evaluated in terms of selectivity, linearity, precision, accuracy, recovery, limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ). The calibration curve was highly linear (the coefficient of determination: 0.9979) within the concentration range of $10.0{\sim}800.0{\mu}g/mL$ for MSM. The recoveries for three fortified concentrations were 96.7~97.1%, 96.6~97.3% and 96.8~97.2%, respectively. The LOD and LOQ of the method were $0.29{\mu}g/mL$ and $0.97{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. All obtained results were acceptable according to the guidelines of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists for dietary supplements. Thus, the validated analytical method using the GC-FID system is suitable for the determination of MSM in dietary supplement formulations for quality control.

SPME-GC를 이용한 인삼의 향분석과 관능강도와의 상관관계 (Correlation between SPME-GC Analysis and the Aroma Intensity for Ginseng Volatiles)

  • 인삼 본래의 향기 강도를 기기분석적으로 평가할 수 있는 방법을 확립하기 위해서, SPME-GC를 이용한 휘발성 향성분 분석값과 코로써 느끼는 강도와의 상관관계를 연구하였다. 여러 장소에서 재배된 인삼시료(수삼, 백삼, 홍삼)에 대한 향기성분석결과와 코로써 느끼는 측정 결과와의 상관관계를 분석해 본 결과, 백삼과 홍삼의 경우에 관능평가에 의한 향의 강도가 높으면 GC의 peak area값도 크다는 상호관계를 얻음으로써 인삼 본래 향의 강도를 객관적으로 표기 할 수 있는 계기를 마련할 수 있었다.
