  • Genshin Impact is an open-world action role-playing game launched by miHoYo in 2020 and has been released on multiple platforms. Due to the excellent character design, it has received widespread attention once it was released, and it has been ranked in the top 10 best-selling lists in several countries after a few weeks of launch. This article will first analyze the map design of the game's open world, and what elements are used on the game map to allow players to immerse themselves in it. Then, in the gameplay of the game, a rich and varied combat system is formed by using the relationship between the elements to restrain each other. There is also a card drawing system added to it, which makes the acquisition of characters full of randomness and allows more players to participate in it. It is concluded that the novel design and rich and varied play methods have made the game Genshin Impact high in popularity, occupying the forefront of the app download list for a long time.

  • The scale of game development are rapidly increasing as the blockbuster games which cost $7\~20$ billion won, often appear on the markets. The game mechanics which is concentrated on technological elements of the game, necessarily requires the management of quality. In this paper, we propose a computer simulator for the quality evaluation of game mechanics which can analyze the quality accurately and economically in the design phase. The proposed simulator provides Petri net[7,8] and Smalltalk[9] for convenient modeling. The simulator gives the realistic evaluation like play test because it uses the realistic data of gameplay environment such as player action-pattern, game world map, and item DB but the previous evaluation methods can not consider the realistic gameplay environment and can only cover a limited scope of evaluation. To prove good performance of the proposed simulator, we have 80 simulations for the quality evaluation of the game mechanics of Dungeon & Dragon[13,14] in a given world map. The simulation results show that the proposed simulator can evaluate the faultlessness, optimization, and play balance of the game mechanics and gives better good performance than other evaluation methods.

  • Recent stealth games are mainly action games with frontal confrontation or combat features. In this paper, we designed and implemented an stealth game, where characters are weak person and play is conducted by avoiding the situation, not by frontal confrontation. We chose the light as the key factor for the avoidance. The players can survive and fulfill the missions by blocking the enemy's vision. After implementing the first version, we found that the game using only the avoidance is not as fun as expected. To make the game more interesting, we added limited attack function, provided mini map for better user interface, and this paper describes the options we had and experiences of the decision making process to make the better game.

  • The use of the A' for the path search of the agent in the game map give the overhead of computing time in real time game processing. The other heuristic search algorithms do not guarantee the optical path. The route table of which the row is defined by current position, goal position, visiting position is presented in this paper. This route table is made in the game development phase and tilized in game playing. The visiting position which is contatined in the optimal path to the goal position from the current position can guarantee the optical path, and this mothod has no overhead on computing time. But the memory space is requred too much. This problem can also be solved using the data compression by skipping the duplicated route table.

  • We propose a feature map method to detect a collision for a motion-based game. The feature map can be made an optimally reduced motion data using subtraction image and virtual ball images according to image size and condition. And we calculate the overlapped ratio between moving image data and objects. This ratio is an invariant for detection even though image size is changed. And we compare this ration with collision detection constant, the feature map can detect fast collisions as well as the collided direction. To evaluate the method, we implemented a motion-base game that consists of a web cam, a player, an enemy, and some virtual balls, and we obtained some valid results for our method for the collision detection. The results demonstrated that the proposed approach is robust, and they can be used as a basic collide detection algorithm for a motion-based game where the size and the position of characters are continuously changing.

  • In MMORPG, gamers can engage in a variety of activities with other players from all over the world. So, this kind of games has unprecedented heavy load. There are so many kind of method to balance the load of MMORPG. But. many of them are not adaptable to dynamic load variation. In this paper, we propose a dynamic map-partition method based on VML. By use of dynamic map-partition based on VML, we can easily adapt to dynamic load variation. And by changing VML. we can manage field servers within game system.

  • In a dynamic game where the players move in a periodical sequence, each player observes the strategy of the others. So the players who move later in a game get to know the moves of others having made before them. Those who move earlier must take this into account in devising their optimal strategy. In the Poolco model, the bidding game is executed periodically. The player participating in the bidding game accumulates the information of its own and others'strategies, and payoffs through the repeated bidding process. Thereby, the players in this game would be able to map out how get the maximum profit, and get closer to the optimal strategy. This paper presents a mathematical modeling for a player to determine his or her optimal strategy at period T, based on the information acquired from the previous rounds for the periods, T-1, T-2, and so on. The proposed modeling is demonstrated with a dynamic fame theory.

  • This study concluded that smart glass can combine realistic media and reasonable technologies to compensate for the disappointment of simple one-dimensional board game contents, suggest various games to board game contents that were only possible through advertisements and promotions, and can promote board games, tourism services, and insufficient tourism contents. Content development is highly complete as an educational content in that it can be omitted or repeated by customers, and it is expected to be a board game using interesting smart glasses for the MZ generation.

  • This paper proposes the adaptive way that intended screen applies the same proportion of the game screen to mobile devices having various resolution. Generally speaking, clipping is the way to show only part of screen with designated proportion and is widely used in game industry. It costs additionally because developers make game screens fit various resolutions. However, the proposed method of this study saves developing time and cost if automatically calculated output is possible according to designated screen proportion and devices' aspect ratio. This suggested algorithm makes it possible to display game screen in same proportion automatically to various resolution and the mini-map is automatically fixed regardless of the mobile devices' resolution.
