  • In this paper, we introduce the definition of sequentially g-connected components and sequentially locally g-connected by using sequentially g-closed sets. Moreover, we investigate some characterization of sequentially g-connected components and sequentially locally g-connected.

  • The method of Conjugate Gradient(C.G.M) is applied to the solution of current distribution from body of revolution (B.O.R).Using the C.G.M it is possible to analyze electrically large arbtrarily oriented B.O.R. The fundamental differences between C.G.M and moment method are outlined. This method converges for any initial guess and this techniqe gurantees a monotonic convergence. Numerical results are presented for electromagnetic case which show good agreement with moment solution.

  • The frequency response functions of systems incorporating a non-linear cubic stiffness subject to sinusoidal excitation are derived using the Volterra series and the convergence characteristics investigated. It is shown that the series representation of the frequency response functions converges only when the sinewave input amplitude is within a certain range. Within the range of convergence the frequency response function based on the Volterra series approaches the analytical one as more higher order frequency response function terms are included. Proposed is a criterion for the studies systems to predict approximately the range of sinewave input amplitude for which the series representation of the frequency response functions converges.

  • In this paper, we have investigated deformation of cup for EFI detonator in high velocity impact test. The experimental result shows that STS cup deformed 0.170 mm with the bulged shape. The numerical simulation result with static/dynamic material properties of SUS304 shows 0.166 mm of deformation. The main parameters to decrease the deformation of cup are stength, thickness and density of cup. The initial condition of SUS304 cup was strength of 215 MPa and thickness of 0.12 mm. As strength increases to 500 MPa, deformation of cup converges to 0 mm, and as thickness increases to 0.18 mm, deformation of cup converges to 0 mm. If the density of cup decreases from 8 to 2.7 g/cc, the deformation of cup decreases to 0.141 mm.

  • For arbitrary random variables {$X_{n},n{\geq}1$}, the order of growth of the series. $S_{n}\;=\;{\sum}_{j=1}^n\;X_{j}$ is studied in this paper. More specifically, when the series S_{n}$ diverges almost surely, the strong law of large numbers $S_{n}/g_{n}^{-1}$($A_{n}{\psi}(A_{n}))\;{\rightarrow}\;0$ a.s. is constructed by extending the results of Petrov (1973). On the other hand, if the series $S_{n}$ converges almost surely to a random variable S, then the tail series $T_{n}\;=\;S\;-\;S_{n-1}\;=\;{\sum}_{j=n}^{\infty}\;X_{j}$ is a well-defined sequence of random variables and converges to 0 almost surely. For the almost surely convergent series $S_{n}$, a tail series strong law of large numbers $T_{n}/g_{n}^{-1}(B_{n}{\psi}^{\ast}(B_{n}^{-1}))\;{\rightarrow}\;0$ a.s., which generalizes the result of Klesov (1984), is also established by investigating the duality between the limiting behavior of partial sums and that of tail series. In particular, an example is provided showing that the current work can prevail despite the fact that previous tail series strong law of large numbers does not work.

  • Hjort(1990) obtained the nonparametric Bayes estimator $\^{F}_{c,a}$ of $F_0$ with respect to beta processes in the random censorship model. Let $X_1,{\cdots},X_n$ be i.i.d. $F_0$ and let $C_1,{\cdot},\;C_n$ be i.i.d. G. Assume that $F_0$ and G are continuous. This paper shows that {$\^{F}_{c,a}$(u){\|}0 < u < T} converges weakly to a Gaussian process whenever T < $\infty$ and $\~{F}_0({\tau})\;<\;1$.

  • In this paper, we prove for a nonexpansive mapping T that under certain conditions the trajectory $t \to G_t(x), t \in [0,1]$, defined by the equation $G_t(x) = (1 - t)x + tTG_t(x)$ strongly converges to a fixed point of T as $t \to 1^{-1}$.

  • Non-point pollutants, which mainly originate from high traffic roads and rural areas, contaminate the environment by flowing into various rivers and lakes and thus are of interest as an environmental issue. Accordingly, efforts have been made to design and maintain efficient filter systems for the control of the non-point pollutants. Meanwhile, clay-type materials are widely used for the absorption of chemicals included in pollutants and the absorption performances of various clays have been reported in the literature. Thus, the present study proposes a non-destructive monitoring method for the performance of a clay-type filter using electrical resistivity measurement. A series of experimental tests is performed on celite-based particulate filters with infiltrating non-point source pollutants having the same characteristics as pollutants on high traffic roads. Each test measures permeability, resistivity of the filter materials and resistivity of the filtrated water. As the particulate filter materials filtrate pollutants and absorb heavy chemicals (e.g., $Cr^{6+}$, lead, nickel, among others), ionic concentration increases resulting as the electrical resistivity decrease. When the filter systems approach the end of their lifetime, the electrical resistivity of the filter material converges to a very low value due to lowered filter absorption efficiency. Hence, the electrical resistivity of the filtrated water also converges to a low value due to high concentrations of heavy metals. The permeability converges to a very low value because of significantly reduced porosity due to clogging and absorption of pollutants on the filter material. The experimental results show that electrical resistivity monitoring of filter materials is a promising approach to estimation of filter performance and its life expectancy.

  • Analyzing the relationships among the parameters for quantifying the quality of research published in journals is a challenging task. In this paper, we analyze the relationships between the impact factor, h-index, and g-index of a journal. To keep our analysis simple and easy to understand, we consider a generalized version of the impact factor where there is no time window. In the absence of the time window, the impact factor converges to the number of citations received per paper. This is not only justified for the impact factor, it also simplifies the analysis of the h-index and g-index as well because addition of a time window in the form of years complicates the computation of indices too. We derive the expressions for the relationships among impact factor, h index, and g-index and validate them using a given set of publication-citation data.

  • In this paper we introduce the concept of fuzzy ${\beta}-compact^*$ spaces. Besides giving some interesting properties of fuzzy ${\beta}-compact^*$ spaces we also give a characterization on fuzzy $\beta$-compact spaces by making use of newly introduced concept of fuzzy $\beta$-filters.
