  • This paper presents a simple methodolosy that makes a continuous-time nonlinear system chaotic using fuzzy control. The nonlinear system is represented by the T-S fuzzy model. Then, a fuzzy controller makes the T-S fuzzy model, which could be stable or unstable, bounded and chaotic. The verification of chaos in the closed-loop system is done by the following procedures. We establish an asymptotically approximate relationship between a continuous-time T-S fuzzy system with time-delay and a discrete-time T-S fuzzy system. Then, we verify the chaos in the closed-loop system by applying the Marotto theorem to its associated discrete-time T-S fuzzy system.

  • In this paper, a problem of event-triggered model predictive control is investigated for continuous-time Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with input quantization. To efficiently utilize network resources, event-trigger is employed, which transmits limited signals satisfying the condition that the measurement of errors is over the ratio of a certain level. Considering sampling and quantization, continuous Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems are regarded as a sector bounded continuous-time T-S fuzzy systems with input delay. Then, a model predictive controller (MPC) based on parallel distributed compensation (PDC) is designed to optimally stabilize the closed loop systems. The proposed MPC optimize the objective function over infinite horizon, which can be easily calculated and implemented solving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) for every event-triggered time. The validity and effectiveness are shown that the event triggered MPC can stabilize well the systems with even smaller average sampling rate and limited actuator signal guaranteeing optimal performances through the numerical example.

  • This paper presents a design method of a static output feedback controller for continuous T-S fuzzy systems via parallel distributed compensation (PDC). The existence condition of a set of static output feedback gains is represented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The sufficient condition presented here does not need any transformation matrices and equality constraints and is less conservative than the previous results seen in [20].

  • In [8], we introduced the concept of fuzzy r-minimal structure which is an extension of smooth fuzzy topological spaces and fuzzy topological spaces in Chang's sense. And we also introduced and studied the fuzzy r-M continuity. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of fuzzy r-minimal compactness on fuzzy r-minimal compactness and nearly fuzzy r-minimal compactness, almost fuzzy r-minimal spaces and investigate the relationships between fuzzy r-M continuous mappings and such types of fuzzy r-minimal compactness.

  • This paper develops a stability analysis and controller synthesis methodology for a continuous-time affine Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with parametric uncertainties. Affine T-S fuzzy system can be an advantage because it may be able to approximate nonlinear functions to high accuracy with fewer rules than the homogeneous T-S fuzzy systems with linear consequents only. The analysis is based on Lyapunov functions that are continuous and piecewise quadratic. The search for a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function can be represented in terms of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). A simulation example is given to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concept of fuzzy weakly (r,s)-semicontinuous mappings on intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces in Sostak's sense. The relations among various kinds of fuzzy mappings on intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces in $\check{S}ostak^{\prime}s$ sense are displayed. The characterization for the fuzzy weakly (r,s)-semicontinuous mapping is obtained. Also, we introduce the notion of fuzzy weakly (r,s)-semicontinuous mappings at a given intuitionistic fuzzy point. The relation between fuzzy weakly (r,s)- semicontinuous mappings and fuzzy weakly (r,s)-semicontinuous mappings at an intuitionistic fuzzy point is discussed.

  • The concept of fuzzy sets was introduced by Zad도 in his highly influential paper [5]. Using this concept, Chang [1] introduced a notion of fuzzy topological spaces which formally is the same one as for ordinary topological spaces. Observing that with Chang's definition constant maps between fuzzy topological spaces are not necessarily continuous, Lowen [2] gave an alternative and more natural definition for a fuzzy topological spaces and characterized the fuzzy compact spaces by means of prefilters in [4]. In this paper we give new characterizations of fuzzy compact spaces introduced in [2]. These results explain more clearly fuzzy compactness in fuzzy topological spaces.
