  • This paper proposes an alternative observation scheme, T-S fuzzy model based indirect adaptive fuzzy observer. Nonlinear systems arc represented by fuzzy models since fuzzy logic systems arc universal approximators. In order to estimate the unmeasurable states of a given nonlinear system, T-S fuzzy modeling method is applied to get the dynamics of an observation system. T-S fuzzy system uses the linear combination of the input state variables and the modeling applications of them to various kinds of nonlinear systems can be found. The adaptive fuzzy scheme estimates the parameters comprising the fuzzy model representing the observation system. The proposed indirect adaptive fuzzy observer based on T-S fuzzy model can cope with not only unknown states but also unknown parameters. In the process of deriving adaptive law, the Lyapunov theory and Lipchitz condition are used. To show the performance of the proposed observation method, it is applied to an inverted pendulum on a cart.

  • This paper proposes an indirect adaptive fuzzy controller for general SISO nonlinear systems. In indirect adaptive fuzzy control, based on the proved approximation capability of fuzzy systems, they are used to capture the unknown nonlinearities of the plant. Until now, most of the papers in the field of controller design for nonlinear system considers the affine system using fuzzy systems which have fixed grid-rule structure. We proposes a dynamic fuzzy rule insertion scheme where fuzzy rule-base grows as time goes on. With this method, the dynamic order of the controller reduces dramatically and an appropriate number of fuzzy rules are found on-line. No a priori information on bounding constants of uncertainties including reconstruction errors and optimal fuzzy parameters is needed. The control law and the update laws for fuzzy rule structure and estimates of fuzzy parameters and bounding constants are determined so that the Lyapunov stability of the whole closed-loop system is guaranteed.

  • In this paper, a decentralized fuzzy output feedback controller for the nonlinear networked control system is proposed for wireless sensor network. Especially, it is assumed that the networked control system has the output packet loss and the input transmission failure. For the fuzzy control of the nonlinear subsystem, it presents Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model of each subsystem and it designs the decentralized fuzzy output feedback controller. The stability condition of the closed-loop system with the proposed controller is obtained by Lyapunov functional. The obtained stability condition is represented to the linear matrix inequality (LMI) form, and the control gain is obtained by LMI. An example is given to show the verification discussed throughout the paper.

The proposed indirect adaptive fuzzy observer based on T-S fuzzy model can cope with not only unknown states but also unknown parameters. The proposed controller is based on a simple output feedback method. Therefore, it solves the singularity problem, without any additional algorithm, which occurs in the inverse dynamics based on the feedback linearization method. The adaptive fuzzy scheme estimates the parameters and the feedback gain comprising the fuzzy model representing the observation system. In the process of deriving adaptive law, the Lyapunov theory and Lipchitz condition are used. • In this paper, we propose direct and indirect adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control approaches for a class of nonaffine nonlinear systems. In the direct case, we use the implicit function theory to prove the existence of an ideal implicit feedback linearization controller, and hence approximate it to attain the desired performances. In the indirect case, we exploit the linear structure of a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy system with constant conclusion to establish an affine-in-control model, and therefore design an indirect adaptive fuzzy controller. In both cases, the adaptation laws of the adjustable parameters are deduced from the stability analysis, in the sense of Lyapunov, to get a more accurate approximation level. In addition to their robustness, the design of the proposed approaches does not require the upper bounds of both external disturbances and approximation errors. To show the efficiency of the proposed controllers, a simulation example is presented.

  • This paper presents a delay dependent fuzzy H_\infty$ filter design method for delayed fuzzy dynamic systems. Using delay-dependent Lyapunov function, the global exponential stability and H_\infty$ performance problem are discussed. A sufficient condition for the existence of fuzzy filter is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). The filter design utilize the concept of parallel distributed compensation. And the filter gains can also be directly obtained from the LMI solutions. A simulation example is given to illustrate the design procedures and performance of the proposed methods.

  • In this paper, a robust $H_{\infty}$ stabilization problem to a uncertain fuzzy systems with time-varying delay via static output feedback is investigated. The Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent an uncertain nonlinear systems with time-varying delayed state. Using a single Lyapunov function, the globally asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed-loop fuzzy control system are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of robust $H_{\infty}$ controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

  • A servo system requires faster and more accurate dynamic responses. Generally a PD control is mainly used to obtain the precision, and in the other hand a fuzzy control to improve the transient response and to cope with the nonlinearity of systems. Recently hybrid control, which is attempted to combine the advantages of PD control and a Fuzzy control was proposed, but this technique requires complicate design procedures. Therefore in this paper, a Fuzzy controller with a series of membership functions, and various sampling periods and rules, was designed on the basis of Lyapunov stability theory and auto tuning methods of input scale factors. And also it was showed to have the excellent adaptive performances against internal-external disturbances and the usefulness of this controller from the results of simulations.
