As the consumers' anxiety for food increases, the interest in food safety also increases. To satisfy the public requirement on food safety, the government is trying to set up a food safety standard by using regulations and certification systems. However, there is still difficulty in building up complex traceability systems for medicinal crops including ginseng due to the low participation of farming industries. The purpose of this empirical research is to draw factors that impede the GAP adoption of ginseng farms. By comparing the average attitude and intention to adopt the ginseng farms' depending on its characteristics through a two-tailed test, it was drawn that continuous farming education can positively influence the GAP adoption of the ginseng farms.

This study examined the dietary life by residence type of 409 university students (198 male and 211 female) in Chungnam They were divided into five groups according their residence: living in the family home a short distance from the university, living in the family home a long distance from the university, boarding house, self-boarding house, and university dormitory. In this study, the intake of food and nutrients and health, and dietary behaviors of each group were investigated through two-week questionnaire. The average age, height, weight, and BMI were 21.4, 175.3 cm, 68.9 kg, 22.3 in males, and 19.9, 162.3 cm, 53.3 kg, 20.2 in females, respectively. Dietary attitude of the students living in home was higher than that of the other student groups. The rate of breakfast intake and the frequency of eating 10 food items of subjects except processed food of self-boarding house group were lower than those of the other 4 student groups. These results suggest that university students of self-boarding house might have low ability of meal management and more reasonable nutrition education is needed for desirable food behaviors.

The subjects of this survey were 181 rural housewives living in Andong area. The completely answered questionnaires were analyzed for nutritional knowledge, food habit, nutritional attitude, food preferences and nutrient intakes of rural housewives. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The subjects had a high level of perceived knowledge (79.9%), that is the knowledge that each subject believed she had, but the accuracy of the knowledge was only 66.6%. The average nutritional knowledge score was 7.93 out of possible 15 points, and food habit score was 5.08 out of 10 points. Most of the subjects belonged to "Fair" or "Poor" food habit group, which is considered to be relatively bad. With increasing age, the percentage of perceived knowledge, accuracy, and nutritional knowledge score were getting lower. Food habit score and nutritional attitude score were getting lower with increasing age, too. The correlation between nutritional knowledge score and food habit score was low(r=0.01). The correlation between nutritional attitude score and food habit was low, too(r=0.15). Food preferences for kimchi, cooked rice, potato, milk, beef, chicken, and carrot were high. Average calorie and protein intakes of the subjects were 1915.7㎉ and 77.0g respectively. The ratio of caloric nutrients intake was carbohydrate 65.9%, protein 14.9%, and fat 19.2%.
The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental data on the importance of eating breakfast by analyzing the dietary habits, dietary attitude, dietary behavior, and nutrition knowledge between of male high school students according to breakfast eating status. The subjects consisted of 400 male high school students living in Chungnam. There was no significant difference according to grade, height, and weight between students who skipped breakfast and those who ate breakfast. Further, satisfaction and perception about body weight were not statistically different between the two groups. Regarding relationships with friends, to the response 'I have a lot of relationships with friends' was 25.5% in the skipping breakfast group and 45.7% in the eating breakfast group. The academic records of the students who ate breakfast were much higher. Meal regularity, meal satisfaction, and dietary attitude of the eating breakfast group were better than those of the skipping breakfast group. Regarding the level of nutritional knowledge, students who skipped breakfast scored $7.6{\pm}2.9$ points while the students who ate breakfast scores $7.9{\pm}3.1$ points, indicating no significant difference. The students who ate breakfast had better friendships, higher academic achievement, and better dietary behavior and attitude. Therefore, it is necessary to increase nutrition education and reduce the skipping of breakfast through a variety of methods, such as school food service and simple recipes for Korean food. It should also be considered that nutrition education for parents be widely provided.
148 male and 153 female college students attitude toward weight control, diet behaviors and food habits were investigated by self questionnaire. Among the students, underweight students were 11.0$\%$, normal weight students were 63.5$\%$ and obese students were 25.6$\%$ by RBW standard, and underweight students were 16.0$\%$, nromal weight students were 70.4$\%$ and obese students were 13.6% by BMI standard. However, more than 10% of male and 38$\%$ of female students thought they were obese even thought their body weight were normal. Female students tended to overeat when they were stressed or in a bad mood and generally all participants had poor scores on the dietary attitudes test, however, male students had significantly higher scores than female students. Female students tended to choose food more for its taste. Collegestudents are in early stage of adult life and their dietary attitudes, food behaviors and life style will continue to their later life. Therefore college students need more good nutrition knowledge, positive dietary attitudes, modified life styles to prevent and treat collegestudents obesity. High sodium intake in many countries has become the leading cause of chronic diseases. This situation requires correct dietary behavior to ensure proper sodium intake in the younger population. The purpose of the present study was to assess eating behavior regarding sodium intake and identify its correlation with common dietary attitudes in children. This cross-sectional study was conducted by surveying 588 elementary school children in Korea. Sodium-related dietary behavior and common eating attitudes were examined through questionnaires, and analyses were conducted by comparing the results between boys and girls. The most undesirable sodium-related dietary behavior in subjects was they 'eat kimchi with every meal' followed by the 'tendency to eat hot and spicy food'. Girls had better dietary behavior regarding sodium intake than boys (P<0.05). However, the common eating attitude between boys and girls was not significantly different. For all subjects, sodium-related dietary behavior and eating attitude showed a significant positive correlation (P=0.0032). The present study shows that a common eating attitude is better when the sodium-related dietary behavior is more desirable in children.
Objectives: This study examined the dietary characteristics and needs for community kitchens among young adults of single-person households in Seoul according to the cooking attitude. Methods: During April 2018, an online survey was conducted on young adults of single-person households in their 20s and 30s residing in Seoul. The respondents were classified into the more positive cooking attitude group (More Positive Group; n=152, mean=4.11) and the less positive cooking attitude group (Less Positive Group; n=190, mean=3.03) based on the mean score (3.51) of the 4-item 5-point Likert scales measuring the cooking attitude. The responses of the two groups were compared. Results: Approximately 90% of the More Positive Group had the cooking ability to prepare ordinary meals or more advanced cooking skills, whereas only 61% of the Less Positive Group had such skills. Approximately a half of the More Positive Group cooked at home three times a week or more; only 30% of the Less Positive Group did so, and more than 30% of the group seldom cooked. The More Positive Group had higher mean scores in the levels of satisfaction with dietary life and care for food safety and nutrition than the Less Positive Group. Approximately 30% of all the respondents expressed their needs for community kitchens. The most frequently answered reason for such needs was "being able to have a meal with others". Conclusions: The young adults of single-person households with a more positive cooking attitude possessed a higher cooking ability, cooked more often, and cared more about food safety and nutrition than those with a less positive cooking attitude. There were moderate needs for community kitchens among young adults of single-person households living in Seoul. Therefore, societal efforts to improve their cooking attitude would be meaningful for improving their quality of dietary life. Cooking lessons or social dining programs based on community kitchens could be an option.

The average expenditure for eating-out was 62,000 won per visit with the average of 39,000 won in the lowest income group and 78,000 won in the highest one. Regarding the meal balance score, the overall score was 3.48 with the lowest score(2.98) being recorded for the dairy products and the highest score(3.95) for vegetables.
