Jeju Haenyeos are represented as an image of the diligent and strong woman. With such an image, they have become the symbol of Jeju women. Furthermore, Jeju Haeyeo culture will be rebranded. The Jeju woman divers wear special swimsuit (Mul-sojungii) when harvesting the various sea products. The Mul-sojungii was buttoned down the right side so that it could be easily removed. Therefore, it is to review the fashion design products for effective item applied the original or modified folding technique of Mul-sojungii. As a result, it was to develop the bolero, jump suit and dress design of Korean image using folding technique(Guljapgi) of Mul-sojungii that is one of the unique, indigenous construction of Jeju.
The folding of aptamer immobilized on an Au electrode was successfully detected using label-free electrochemical methods. A thrombin binding DNA aptamer was used as a model system in the presence of various monovalent cations. Impedance spectra showed that the extent to which monovalent cations assist in folding of aptamer is ordered as $K^+$ > $NH_4^+$ > $Na^+$ > $Cs^+$. Our XPS analysis also showed that $K^+$ and $NH_4^+$ caused a conformational change of the aptamer in which it forms a stable complex with these monovalent ions. Impedance results for the interaction between aptamer and thrombin indicated that thrombin interacts more with folded aptamer than with unfolded aptamer. The EQCM technique provided a quantitative analysis of these results. In particular, the present impedance results showed that thrombin participates a folding of aptamer to some extent, and XPS analysis confirmed that thrombin stabilizes and induces the folding of aptamer.
The manufacturing of a metal bellows consists of the four main forming processes; deep-drawing, ironing, tube bulging and folding. Among these, the bulging and folding processes are critically important because the quality of metal bellows is greatly influenced by the forming conditions of these processes. In the present study, the finite element analysis technique is applied to the bulging and folding processes. The springback analysis is also called out. From the analysis results, it has been revealed that around the crown point the stress state is in one-directional tension and one-directional bending mode. Meanwhile, around the inner point of metal bellows it is in two-directional bending mode. It has also revealed that the thickness of metal bellows around the crown point is nearly uniform.
The next generation of diesel engine can operate at high injection pressure up to 1,800bar. The common rail pipe must have higher internal strength because it is directly influenced by the high-pressure fuel. Folding defects in the Common rail pipe can not ensure the structural safety. Therefore, Preform design and fatigue-life analysis are very important for preventing the head of the common rail pipe from folding in the heading process and for predicting fatigue life according to the amount of folding. In this study, a closed form equation to predict fatigue life was suggested by Goodman theory and pressure vessels theory in ASME Code in order to develop an optimization technique of the heading process and verified its reliability through fatigue-structural coupled field analysis. The results calculated by the theory were in good agreement with those obtained by the finite element analysis.
We present and discuss the Tropopause Folding Turbulence Detection (TFTD) algorithm for the Korean Communication, Ocean, Meteorological Satellite (COMS) which is originally developed for the Tropopause Folding Turbulence Product (TFTP) from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R. The TFTD algorithm assumes that the tropopause folding is linked to the Clear Air Turbulence (CAT), and thereby the tropopause folding areas are detected from the rapid spatial gradients of the upper tropospheric specific humidity. The Layer Averaged Specific Humidity (LASH) is used to represent the upper tropospheric specific humidity calculated using COMS $6.7{\mu}m$ water vapor channel and ERA-interim reanalysis temperature at 300, 400, and 500 hPa. The comparison of LASH with the numerical model specific humidity shows a strong negative correlation of 80% or more. We apply the single threshold, which is determined from sensitivity analysis, for cloud-clearing to overcome strong gradient of LASH at the edge of clouds. The tropopause break lines are detected from the location of strong LASH-gradient using the Canny edge detection based on the image processing technique. The tropopause folding area is defined by expanding the break lines by 2-degree positive gradient direction. The validations of COMS TFTD is performed with Pilot Reports (PIREPs) filtered out Convective Induced Turbulence (CIT) from Dec 2013 to Nov 2014 over the South Korea. The score test shows 0.49 PODy (Probability of Detection 'Yes') and 0.64 PODn (Probability of Detection 'No'). Low POD results from various kinds of CAT reported from PIREPs and the characteristics of high sensitivity in edge detection algorithm.

Folded structure is widely applied in various engineering fields. Many of the Japanese folding fans in the Edo era (1603-1868) have been successfully blended with the processing technology of "natural materials" that is the origin of Japan's "Monodzukuri" (craftsmanship) and its application "artistic originality". The charm of a fan lies in the diversity of stereoscopic expression not born in plane representation. For example, the effects of folds, the expression of the front and back sides flowing from the front to the back by double-sided description, and the two-layer effect of raising the backside from the surface using the permeability of Japanese paper, the calculated depiction are also seen. Moreover, by handling the fan, it also produced an illusion effect which skillfully calculated the change due to movement of the viewpoint. Students experience the natural materials such as Japanese paper, bamboo and starch paste, which are the materials of paint and fan at the time, and processing method, and know the difference with the current one. This study is to verify the effectiveness of engineering education which gains experience by making concrete fans and to understand deeply this traditional technology with the artistry of a Japanese fan at the same time. And we can learn from the characteristics of the fan to Japan's history and culture.

Protein folding is a fundamental problem in structural bioinformatics and so numerous studies have been devoted to the subject. As the most common regular secondary conformation in proteins, helix has been an important ingredient of the protein folding problem. In particular, alanine based polypeptides are widely studied to identify the helix folding process in that the aianine amino acid is known to have one of the highest helix propensities. In principle, intrinsic helix propensities can be obtained from gas-phase measurements where solvent effect is absent. Hudgins et al. studied alanine-based peptides in vacuo using high-resolution ion mobility measurement technique. It was reported that introduction of a single Iysine at the C terminus resulted in the formation of very stable, monomeric polyalanine helices. We also have investigated helix formation in vacuo with different terminal charge conditions; we have found a new type of helix motif, To the best of our knowledge, this type of helix conformation has not been characterized before and we name it as I-helix.
