Satisfying the same probability of loss of control and essentially two fail operative performance with a triplex computer architecture requires a lot of modification of the conventional redundancy management design techniques, previously employed in quadruplex digital flight control computer. T-50 FCS for triplex redundancy management design applied an advanced digital flight control architecture with an I/O controller which is functionally independent of the digital computer to achieve the same reliability and special failure analysis and isolation schemes for fail operational goals with a triplex configuration. The analysis results indicated that the triplex flight control system is to satisfy the safety requirement utilizing the advanced flight control techniques and the system performance of the implemented flight control system was verified by failure mode effect test.
The aviation safety policy master plan is promoting the development of aviation safety management technology applying the 4th industrial revolution technology with the goal of establishing a flawless aviation safety management system and establishing a future aviation safety infrastructure. The master plan includes the establishment of various aviation safety management systems such as aircraft fault management using AI & Big data and flight training system using VR/AR. Currently, the Air Force is promoting a flight safety management system using new technology under the goal of building smart air force. Therefore, this study intends to apply the 4th Industrial Revolution technology to the aircraft condition check system that finally checks the safety of the aircraft before flight. The Air Force conducts airframe flaw checks and pre-flight aircraft check. In this study, we architect the airframe flaw check system using AI and drones, and the pre-flight aircraft condition check system using the IoT and big data for more precise and detailed check of aircraft condition and flawlessness check.

As the domestic aviation industry develops, demand for pilots is increasing. As a result, the demand for flight training using flight simulation training devices that implement the same or similar interior of aircraft is also increasing. Despite this increase in demand, domestic laws, regulations and management systems related to flight simulation training devices have remained unchanged since 2009. As a result, the criteria for designation of new or developed flight simulation training devices are ambiguous. In addition, proper improvement of the current system should be prioritized for designation of new devices such as UAM and VR, along with developing flight simulation training devices. It is intended to present measures to improve the domestic flight simulation training system by investigating and analyzing advanced cases overseas.
As demand for best practices relative to flight test safety management operations and processes in the aviation industry grows, standards for such aspects of the industry in Korea should be examined. Therefore, in this paper, we conducted flight test operation processes and safety management program development studies based on documents related to flight tests of the Korean civil aviation KC-100, the military aircraft T-50, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), and CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) for performance validation, test evaluation and safety certification for aircraft under development and remodeling. In addition, we introduced and analyzed best practices of the FTSC (Flight Test Safety Committee) applicable to aircraft flight test processes.

In this paper, a waypoint guidance law Line Tracking algorithm is designed for testing an Unmanned Airship. In order to verify, we develop an autonomous flight control and test system of unmanned airship. The flight test system is composed FCC (Flight Control Computer), GCS (Ground Control System), Autopilot & Guidance program, GUI (Graphic User Interface) based analysis program, and Test Log Sheet for the management of flight test data. It contains flight test results of single-path & multi-path following, one point continuation turn, LOS guidance, and safe mode for emergency.

As the use of unmanned aerial vehicles increases, in order to expand the operability of the unmanned aerial vehicle, it is essential to develop an unmanned aerial vehicle traffic management system, and to establish the system, it is necessary to analyze the integrated navigation performance of the unmanned aerial vehicle to be operated. Integrated navigation performance is affected by various factors such as the type of unmanned aerial vehicle, flight environment, and guidance law algorithm. In addition, since a large amount of flight data is required to obtain high-reliability analysis results, efficient and consistent flight scenarios are required. In this paper, a flight scenario that satisfies the requirements for integrated navigation performance analysis of rotary and fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles was designed and verified through flight experiments.
This paper considers the arrival, airport and departure capacity as a whole, through which, the network effect between airports is fully emphasized, the flight action is coordinated, and the flight demand pattern is reasonably assigned. The optimization problem of flight queues in multi-airport is studied in detail; the mathematical model of multi-airport opening non-real time flow management in terminal area is established, and related problems such as the parameters, the simplification and the solving of the model are discussed in detail to some extent. Appropriate decision making variables are taken to make the multi-airport network system linear 0-1 integer programming model, thus, the solving of the model is available and the central flow management is realized. The heuristic implicit enumeration presented in this paper can effectively solve this kind of problems. Through the simulation of some airports network system, we not only validate the algorithm presented in this paper, but also give a deep analysis of the results, which would produce reference for later practicable use. The simulation proves that this algorithm offers a good way to settle the problem of multi-airport flight queue optimization in air traffic management automation system in terminal area.

In this study, when establishing a UTM(UAS Traffic Management) system, a corridor must be set to separate the flight distance between unmanned aerial vehicles, and the size of the corridor was calculated in consideration of TSE(Total System Error). The flight data of the straight section and the turning section were collected using a hybrid vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial vehicle. The flight data were derived from the TSE using the SQSM(Scalar Quantity Summation Method) method, and the impact on the straight and turning sections was analyzed by calculating in detail by NSE(Navigation System Error) and FTE(Flight Technical Error). The corridor size was calculated by referring to the TSE analysis results and PBN (Performance-based Navigation) manual.

A national comprehensive aviation test center is being constructed for the purpose of flight tests for development and modification of aircraft or flight inspections for the development of navaids. Flight testing is a high-risk task, so strict risk management processes are required prior to operation. In addition, since the flight test center is subject to the airdrome regulations under the current law, the introduction of the safety management system will enhance safety as usual in ordinary airports. The establishment of a safety management system based on ICAO criteria is an optimal means of ensuring safe and effective operation of the test center and may mitigate the risks that may arise during flight testing. This paper focuses on risk assessment and mitigation required for safety management at the flight test center. We conducted risk assessments on the flight hazards identified in the previous study. Then the high risk group of hazards were selected and risk mitigation techniques such as avoidance, reduction, acceptance, and control were applied.
This paper presents a comprehensive investigation into the optimization of Flight Management Systems (FMS) with a particular emphasis on data processing efficiency by conducting a comparative study with conventional methods to edge-computing technology. The objective of this research is twofold. Firstly, it evaluates the performance of FMS navigation systems using conventional and edge computing methodologies. Secondly, it aims to extend the boundaries of knowledge in edge-computing technology by conducting a rigorous analysis of terrain data and its implications on flight path optimization along with communication with ground stations. The study employs a combination of simulation-based experimentation and algorithmic computations. Through strategic intervals along the flight path, critical parameters such as distance, altitude profiles, and flight path angles are dynamically assessed. Additionally, edge computing techniques enhance data processing speeds, ensuring adaptability to various scenarios. This paper challenges existing paradigms in flight management and opens avenues for further research in integrating edge computing within aviation technology. The findings presented herein carry significant implications for the aviation industry, ranging from improved operational efficiency to heightened safety measures.
