  • As several innovative technologies for flexible electric devices are being realized, demand for in-situ strain monitoring for flexible electric devices is being emphasized. Because flexible devices are commonly influenced by substrate strain, suitable strain sensors for flexible devices are essential for the sophisticated maneuvering of flexible devices. In this study, a flexible strain sensor based on an Ag electrode is prepared on a polyimide substrate using the LDW (laser direct writing) process. In this process, first, the Ag nanoparticles are coated on the substrate and selectively sintered using a focused laser. Because of the advantages of the LDW process (such as being mask-less, using low temperatures, and having non-vacuum characteristics), the entire fabrication process has been dramatically simplified; as a final outcome, a highly reliable strain sensor has been fabricated. Using this strain sensor, various strain conditions that arise from different bending radii can be detected by measuring real-time electrical signals.

  • Nasotracheal intubation is generally a useful maxillofacial surgery that provides good surgical access for intraoral procedures. When nasotracheal intubation is difficult, laryngeal mask airway (LMA) insertion can be performed, and the flexible $LMA^{TM}$ (FLMA) is also useful for anesthetic management. However, the FLMA provides limited access to the mouth, which restricts the insertion of instrumentation and confines the surgical field available. Here, we present our experience using the FLMA airway management for dental treatment cases involving difficulty with intubation.

  • Recently introduced Mask R - CNN presents a conceptually simple, flexible, general framework for instance segmentation of objects. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for efficiently searching objects of images, while creating a segmentation mask of heat generation part for an instance which is a heating element in a heat sensed image acquired from a thermal infrared camera. This method called a mask R - CNN is an algorithm that extends Faster R - CNN by adding a branch for predicting an object mask in parallel with an existing branch for recognition of a bounding box. The mask R - CNN is added to the high - speed R - CNN which training is easy and fast to execute. Also, it is easy to generalize the mask R - CNN to other tasks. In this research, we propose an infrared image detection algorithm based on R - CNN and detect heating elements which can not be distinguished by RGB images. As a result of the experiment, a heat-generating object which can not be discriminated from Mask R-CNN was detected normally.

  • Micro-fabrication techniques such as lithography and LIGA processes usually require large investment and are suitable for mass production. Therefore, there is a need for a new micro-fabrication technique that is flexible and more cost effective. In this paper a novel, economical and flexible method of producing micro-pattern on silicon wafer is presented. This method relies on selective removal of mask by mechanical cutting. Then micro-pattern is produced by chemical etching. V-shaped grooved of about 3 ${\mu}m$ wide and 2 ${\mu}m$ deep has been made on ${SiO_2}m$ coated silicon wafer with this method. This method may be utilized for making microstructures in MEMS application at low cost.

  • For the micro conductive line, memory device fabrication process use many expensive processes such as manufactur-ing of photo mask, coating of photo resist, exposure, development, and etching. However, direct printing technology has the merits about simple and cost effective processes because nano-metal particles contained inks are directly injective without mask. And also, this technology has the advantage about fabrication of fine pattern line on various substrates such as FPCB, PCB, glass, polymer and so on. In this work, we have fabricated the fine and thick metal pattern line on flexible PCB substrate for the next generation electronic circuit using Ag nano-particles contained ink. To improve the line tolerance on flexible PCB, metal lines are fabricated by sequential prinitng method. Sequential printing method has vari-ous merits about fine, thick and high resolution pattern lines without bulge.

  • 355nm UV pulse laser is irradiated on the surface of polyimide (PI) by LDW (Laser Direct Writing) method to produce a high sensitivity flexible humidity sensor using a simple one-step process. The LDW method continuously investigates 2-D CAD data using a galvano scanner and an F-lens. This method is non-contact, so it minimizes physical strain on the PI. Laser-induced graphene (LIG) produced by lasers has a high surface area due to its high flexibility and numerous pores and oxidizers compared to conductors. For this reason, it is highly useful as a flexible humidity sensor. The humidity sensor produced in this study was attached to the inside of a mask filter, which has become a hot topic recently, and its applicability was confirmed. The measurement of humidity measured the sensitivity, reactivity, stability and recovery behavior of the sensor by measuring changes in capacitance and resistance.

  • In this paper, we fabricated flexible antenna radiator using the CNT/PVDF (carbon nanotube / polyvinylidene fluoride) composite film. We used polymer film as a matrix material for the flexible devices, and introduced CNTs for adding conductivity into the film resulting in obtaining performances of the antenna radiator. Spray coating method was used to form the CNT/PVDF composite radiator, and pattern formation of the radiator was done by shadow mask during the spray coating process. We investigated the electrical properties of the CNT/PVDF composite films with the CNT concentration, and also estimated the radiator performance. Finally we discuss the feasibility of the CNT/PVDF composite radiator for the flexible antenna.

  • A new dry-processing method of organic gate dielectric film in field-effect transistors (FETs) was proposed. The method use vapor deposition polymerization (VDP) that is continuous and low temperature process. It has the advantages of shadow mask patterning and dry processing in flexible low-cost large area applications. Here, 80 nm-thick Al as a gate electrode was evaporated through shadow mask. Gate insulators used two different polyimides. The one material was 4,4'-oxydiphtahlic anhydride (ODPA) and 4,4'-oxydianiline (ODA). Another was 2,2-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl) Hexafluoropropane Dianhydride (6FDA) and 4,4' -oxydianiline (ODA). These were co-deposited by high-vaccum thermal-evapora and cured at 150 $^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour, respectively. Pentacene as a semiconductor and 100 nm-thick Au as a source and drain electrode were evaporated through shadow mask.
