  • To reduce the personnel and material loss caused by fire, we propose the automatic fire extinguishing system based on the ignition point tracking using the flame detecter. This automatic fire extinguishing system is composed of the flame detecting system and the fire extinguishing system based on the water cannon. We study the method for the ignition point tracking and the automatic fire extinguishing using the water cannon and the flame detecter. The flame detecting system for the early fire detection and the ignition point tracking has to be satisfied the requirement of the detecting range and the flame detection time. So we study the signal process algorithm for an improvement of the flame detecting system.

  • Modern society shows rapid growth that is different from that of the development of existing technologies. The development of these technologies has led to the tendency of buildings to become dense, large and advancing. Regarding fire hazards, the possibility of large-scale fires causing fatal damage, due to the rapid spread of fire, increases. Therefore, for this reason, fire defense, i.e. detection and fire extinguishing facilities, in buildings are essential and well applied. But there are always limitations to that. Based on this reason, we would like to suggest the introduction of a new concept of a fire safety system. The method presented here is not only to use a single system for fire detection and fire extinguishing systems but to jointly use it in the environment and energy management fields within the building. However, an important step is required before introducing a system of these technologies. The fire extinguishing method proposed by this system is a method of extinguishing by blocking oxygen flowing into the space where the fire occurred. However, a sufficient basis is needed for this system to be applied in practice. Therefore, in this study, we intend to conduct a preliminary experiment to introduce the new concept of fire detection and extinguishing. The experiment used ethanol with a relatively simple combustion reaction and a high possibility of complete combustion. As a result, it was confirmed how the internal values changed during a fire using ethanol. Resultingly, we obtained the internal oxygen concentration and internal environmental changes according to the initial flame size. Lastly, the data accumulated in this study can be used as data for application in an automatic fire extinguishing system.

The Design and Implementation of Mobile Application Solution for Forest Fire based on Drone Photography and Amazon Web Service (AWS)

  • Last year's Goseong-Sokcho forest fires have highlighted the limitations of extinguishing work for night-time forest fire and the importance of quick identification for information on the spread of forest fire. However, it is not easy to find services that take into account the characteristics of forest fires, as most existing disaster-related mobile applications and research assume various disaster situations rather than just forest fire situations. Therefore, a system that can provide information quickly is needed, taking into account the characteristics of forest fires and the limitations of extinguishing work. In this paper, we propose evacuation route guidance services that bypass areas where fire has already spread, supplement existing methods of extinguishing work, and provide general information on forest fire situations in real time, by putting drones into forest fire situations. It has been implemented to automate image analysis using the Rekognition service of Amazon Web Service (AWS), and the results of fire detection and the T Map API guide the evacuation path. It is expected that the results of this paper will allow efficient and rapid rescue and extinguishing work to be carried out, and further reduce the damage of human life caused by forest fires.

도로터널용 방수노즐 위치제어형 자동소화설비의 화재감지성능실험 (Fire Detection Performance Experiment of the Water Jet Nozzle Position Control Type Automatic Fire Extinguishing Facility for Road Tunnels)

  • 이 연구는 불꽃파장 감지기술과 불꽃영상 감지기술을 융합한 도로터널용 자동소화설비의 화재감지성능을 평가하기 위한 실험이다. 화재감지성능을 향상시키기 위한 이 융합기술은 화재 시 화원의 위치를 파악하고, 노즐을 화원으로 향하여 화재가 발생한 장소에만 가압수를 방사함으로서 화재진압에 따른 수손피해를 줄이는 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 도로터널의 화재 중 불꽃 및 연기가 선행되는 상황에서 각각 15 m, 20 m, 25 m, 30 m, 35 m 거리에 $70cm{\times}70cm$의 목표물을 두었을 때 화원의 위치를 파악하는지를 실험하였다. 실험결과 농연의 간섭으로 인해 자외선 및 삼파장적외선센서의 감지능력이 감쇠되는 결과를 확인하였다. 또한 농연으로 인해 불꽃이 가려진 경우 이미지센서가 농연을 감지하여 화재신호를 발신함을 확인하였다.

소화약제 누기 감시장치의 모듈개발 및 성능검증에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Fire Extinguishing Agent Leakage Monitoring Module and its Performance Assessment)

  • 가스계소화설비는 소화약제의 자연 누기와 소화설비 노후로 인한 누기 등으로 화재진압 능력이 저하되는 문제점이 발생하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 소화약제의 누기를 실시간으로 감지하는 압력누기 체크센서 모듈을 개발하였으며, 개발 모듈에 대한 성능평가를 하였다. 국내 외적으로 압력누기 감시 시스템에 대한 명확한 시험기준이 마련되어 있지 않다. 따라서 국외 유사 기준 ISO 7240, FM 1421와 국내 수신기 형식승인 및 제품검사의 기술기준을 참고하여 개발 모듈에 맞게 기본 성능과 내환경성에 대한 기준을 마련하고 평가를 실행하였다. 기본 성능 평가는 압축공기를 모듈에 인가하는 방식으로 최저작동 압력이 0.3 bar인 것을 확인하였다. 내환경성 검증은 통상적으로 발생할 수 있는 기후변화에도 오작동 없이 정상적으로 작동하는지를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 고온($50^{\circ}C$) 및 저온($-10^{\circ}C$) 환경 기준에서 이상 없이 정상 작동하였다.

목조문화재 보존을 위한 소방시설에 대한 고찰 (Consideration on Fire-prevention Facilities for Wooden Cultural Heritages)

  • Wooden cultural heritages have many factors of fires and structural characteristics vulnerable to the fire extinguishing. Also, they are surrounded with forests and so remote from fire stations, which make it difficult to handle it quickly when fires break out. Wooden cultural heritages made of wood materials belong to the general fire in a Class A. Taking characteristics such as a smoldering and a backfire from the that fire of wooden materials into consideration, extinguishing the fire by the cooling system is the most effective. If the fire can't be put out at the early stage, it is almost impossible to protect wooden cultural heritages from the fire, because wooden structures can be destroyed in a high temperature and in a short time and it takes around average 7 minutes to reach its peak of flames in the process of a fire. According to the geographical and environmental situation of the cultural heritages, currently, the fire-prevention facilities such as the auto fire detector for the prompt detection, the water mist fire suppression system for the 1st early and urgent fire suppression and the outdoor fire hydrant and the water curtain etc. for the 2nd full-scale suppression and the prevention of the fire gaining force are being installed for the wooden cultural heritages.

Design of Emergency Fire Fighting and Inspection Robot Riding on Highway Guardrail

  • Based on the problems of untimely Expressway fire rescue and backward traditional fire rescue methods, an emergency fire fighting and inspection robot riding on expressway guardrail is designed. The overall mechanical structure design of emergency fire fighting and inspection robot riding on expressway guardrail is completed by using three-dimensional design software. The target fire detection is realized by using the target detection algorithm of Yolov5; By selecting a variety of sensors and using the control method of multi algorithm fusion, the basic function of robot on duty early warning is realized, and it has the ability of intelligent fire extinguishing. The BMS battery charging and discharging system is used to detect the real-time power of the robot. The design of the expressway emergency fire fighting and inspection robot provides a new technical means for the development of emergency fire fighting equipment, and improves the reliability and efficiency of expressway emergency fire fighting.

공동주택 및 오피스텔 지하층에 대한 피난 안전성 평가 (Evacuation Safety Evaluation for Apartment Complexes and Officetel under Floors)

  • Human and material damage can be reduced if the risk is evaluated by engineering analysis of fire combustion products, smoke concentration, and smoke movement speed in the event of a fire in apartment houses and officetels. In this study, a lot of research on related safety evaluation in the basement needs to be studied and reflected in design, so experimental research was conducted to analyze the flow of smoke through computer simulation and provide analysis data through evacuation safety evaluation. First of all, the five-story underground parking lot subject to simulation has a large floor area, which is advantageous for improving evacuation safety performance, but it uses temperature detectors to increase detection time and fire spread speed. Second, it was analyzed that the evacuation time at all evacuation ports did not exceed the evacuation time, and as the time from the start of evacuation to the evacuation time was 216.9% compared to the travel time, it was evaluated that the safety performance of the evacuation was secured. Third, the above simulation results are a comprehensive safety evaluation based on the non-operation of fire extinguishing facilities in the fire room to increase safety, which means that smoother evacuation safety performance can be secured by linking fire extinguishing facilities.

도로 터널 스마트관리를 위한 디지털 트윈 및 지능형 레일 로봇 개발 (Development of Digital Twin and Intelligent Monorail Robot for Road Tunnel Smart Management)

  • The objective of this study was to create intelligent rail robots that are optimized for facility management and implement digital twin systems for smart road tunnel management. An autonomous surveillance system is formed by combining the sensing platform consisting of railing robots, fixed cameras and environmental detection sensors with the digital twin data platform technology for tunnel monitoring and early fire suppression. In order to develop mobile rail robots for fire extinguishing, we also designed and manufactured robots for extinguishing & monitoring and fire extinguishing devices, and then we examined the optimization of all parts. Our next step was to build a digital twin for road tunnel management by developing continuous image display system and implementing 3D modeling. After constructing prototypes, we attempted simulations by configuring abnormal symptom scenarios, such as vehicles fires. This study's proposal proposes high-accuracy risk prediction services that will enable intelligent management of risks in the tunnel with early response at each stage, using the data collected from the intelligent rail robots and digital twin systems.
