  • Prior bankruptcy studies have established that bankrupt firm's pre-filing financial ratios are different from those of healthy firms or of randomly selected going concerns. However, they may not be sufficiently different from the financial ratios of other firms in financial distress to allow the development of a ratio-based model that predicts bankruptcy with reasonable accuracy. As the result, in the multiple discriminant model, independent variables divided firms into bankrupt firms and healthy firms are retained earnings to total asset, receivable turnover, net income to sales, financial expenses, inventory turnover, owner's equity to total asset, cash flow to current liability, and current asset to current liability. Moreover four variables Retained earnings to total asset, net income to sales, total asset turnover, owner's equity to total asset indicate that these valuables classify bankrupt firms and distress firms. On the other hand, Owner's Equity to borrowed capital, Ordinary income to Net Sales, Operating Income to Total Asset, Total Asset Turnover and Inventory Turnover are selected to predict bankruptcy possibility in the Logistic regression model.

  • The main purpose of the research was to prove, in a practical sense, the relationship among perceived equity, role stress and life satisfaction of employed wives working in sales departments. The subjects were employed wives working in sales departments who have at least one child and a spouse, living in Seoul and the Metropolitan area. The final data analysis used 487 out of 668 questionnaires. Statistical analyses were carried out using SPSS/PC WIN which included frequencies, mean, percentages, Pearson's correlation, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study were as follows: 1) As their education level was low, the education level of their spouse was high, the communication level between couples was high, and the self-oriented perfectionism was low, their perceived emotional relationship was equal. As they were old, the communication level between couples was high, and the self-oriented perfectionism was low, their perceived position in sharing household chores was equal. On the other hand, as they were younger, the education level of their spouse was high, the reason for getting a job lay in supporting the family, and overtime hours worked, there was a higher level of role stress. 2) The influential variables which affect the life satisfaction, in order of importance, were communication level between couples, mother's role stress, age, non-financial reason of getting a job, and sharing household works. For relative contribution degree about life satisfaction, psychological variables among independent variables were revealed as the most influential ones. Thus, efficient communication between couples affected the life satisfaction to a great degree. Furthermore, the study proved that not only role stress variables but also perceived equity variables contributed to the life satisfaction.

  • Recently organizations are implementing strict security policies and technologies to minimize security incidents. However, strict information security can cause work stress of employees and can make it difficult to achieve security goals. The purpose of this study is to present the preconditions for mitigating the negative impact of security-related work stress. We conducted a questionnaire survey of employees working in the financial industry and secured a total of 266 samples. The test of the research hypothesis was carried out by structural equation modeling. As a result, work stress had a negative effect on compliance intention, and value congruence reduced work stress. Also, security feedback had a moderating effect on the relationship between research factors. The results have theoretical and practical implications for mitigating work stress of employees.

  • A comparison was made between workers exposed to organic solvents and those not exposed to them regarding stress perception and psychopathology, using GARS scale and SCL-90-R. The exposed group scored significantly higher than the non-exposed group in stress perception relevant to job-wort changes in relationship, sickness or injury, financial, and overall global area. The exposed group was significantly higher in somatization scale than the non-exposed group. However, there was no significant correlation between duration of exposure and psychopathology. In each of the groups. female workers showed more psychopathology than male ones. Age showed significantly nagative correlation with psychopathology. These results suggest that the exposed group shows higher stress perception and more psychopathology than the non-exposed group. Thus. it is emphasized that health policy makers as well as employers should pay more attention to health. espcially mental health for the workers exposed to organic solvents.

  • Socially, organizations are required to maintain strict management of their information resources and invest in the adoption of information security (IS) technologies and policies. However, the ongoing threat of information exposure by employees persists within the organization. This study aims to identify the role stress that employees may experience due to strict IS policies and propose methods for reducing its negative impact. Specifically, our study suggests a mechanism for mitigating role stress by incorporating factors related to IS policy goal setting and work regulatory focus. We conducted a survey among workers in the financial industry, where IS policies are rigorously enforced, and tested our research hypotheses using a sample of 309 participants. The results indicate that increasing the difficulty and specificity of IS policy goals reduces role stress (conflict and ambiguity) and positively influences employees' intention to comply with IS policies. Furthermore, individual work promotion focus moderated the relationship between role stress and IS compliance intention. These findings have important implications for organizations seeking to strengthen their IS compliance among employees and inform the development of effective IS strategies.

  • In this paper, the hybrid prefabricated retrofit method that improve structural performance and reduce construction period was developed by using a finite element analysis. The hybrid prefabricated retrofit method consist of a Z-shaped side plate, a L-shaped lower plate, and a bottom plate containing an steel plate with openings. This shape has advantage that a retrofit method is possible regardless of the size of the beams and a follow-up process such as reinforcement bars placing are not required. The finite element analysis of hybrid Prefabricated retrofit method showed the most ideal stress distribution when the thickness of bottom plate was 10mm, the thickness of the L-shaped lower plate was 5mm, the thickness of the Z-shaped side plate was 2.5mm, and the bolt spacing was 200mm. The bending strength equation of Hybrid prefabricated retrofit method was proposed through the plastic stress distribution method in KDS 41 31 00. The result of Comparison the proposed equation with the finite element analysis, it is determined that the design of hybrid prefabricated retrofit method is possible through the KDS 41 31 00.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between resilience of migrant workers and their mental health for improving their quality of life and adaptation in Korean society. Methods: Data were collected from March 21 to May 7, 2011. The participants included 488 migrant workers who lived in Busan Metropolitan City or Gyoungnam province. Results: First, heavy working burdens and lack of rests, low wages, poor living environments, low economic status & deficiency of living necessities, hard physical labors, and conflicts with Korean workers had negative effects on mental health. Second, high perceived stress caused by usual 'living difficulties', high 'cutural shock', high feeling of 'social isolation', and high discomfort from 'lack of Korean language proficiency' gave negative effects on migrant worker's mental health. Third, the most important factor on the mental health was the 'cultural shock' among stressors. Even though many stressors existed among migrant workers, these negative effects on mental health were lessened by their high resilience level. Conclusions: This study highlights the importance of migrant workers in Busan, Korea. To improve their mental health, social support including financial supports and educational programs that foster resilience needed.

  • Increasing life expectancy leads to a rise in the prevalence of aging-related mental diseases and a concomitant increase in the financial and societal pressures related to their prevention and management. This issue is attracting increasing attention from researchers. Therefore, this study aimed to determine whether a healing program in a forest environment is effective for improving cognitive function, depression, anxiety, and stress in elderly people. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The experimental group consisted of 18 males and females aged 60 to 80 years who participated in a forest healing program for seven days, while the comparison group comprised 10 people with similar demographics. For the process of data analysis, this study performed a cross-analysis to determine the homogeneity of the data and carried out the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, a nonparametric statistical test, to verify the significance of each group. Participation in the forest healing program led to a significant improve-ment in cognitive function (p=0.030). The levels of depression decreased, but this result was not statistically significant. The levels of anxiety decreased significantly (p=0.004). The mean cortisol score, a measurement of stress, decreased, but it was not statistically significant. These findings confirmed the effectiveness of this program for improving certain mental conditions of elderly people, and affirmed that the use of long-term forest healing programs can be expected to alleviate national pressures created by aging societies.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting employment stress among Emergency Department students and reduce stress of employment. A questionnaire survey was administered to 276 students who experienced clinical practice among 4 emergency college students in Jeollabuk-do and Jeollanam-do at 4-year and 3-year colleges from September 10 to 15, 2017. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 18.0 program and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. In the results, there were significantly negative correlations between clinical training stress and major satisfaction (r=-0.192, p=0.001), significantly positive correlations between career stress and clinical training stress (r=0.222, p<0.001), and significantly negative correlations between career stress and major satisfaction (r=-0.245, p<0.001). In the multi-regression analysis, the following was discovered: higher clinical training stress (${\beta}=0.157$, p=0.005), lower major satisfaction (${\beta}=-0.211$, p<0.001), and higher career stress. Junior students (${\beta}=0.237$, p<0.001) and senior students (${\beta}=0.288$, p<0.001) had the highest career stress. Subjects with medium-level financial status had high career stress (${\beta}=0.173$, p=0.012). Therefore, this study suggests that colleges should reduce clinical training stress among emergency medical technology students, and more job support centers should be opened and job management programs developed.
