  • This thesis is focused on kinematical and kinematical analysis of each types(Type #1 : use both swing of arm and reaction of knee, Type #2 : Use only swing of arm, not reaction of knee, type #3 : Neither use of swing of arm nor reaction of knee) of vertical jumps according to gender of High School Students. The subjects of this study is High School Student's male and female, 5 each, for analyzation of actions 3D image analyzing and GRF machines were used. To identify the differences of analyzed variables, an independent T-test on gender, an One-way ANOVA on types were used. Summery of the results are stated below. first of all, female students showed differences on Hip Joint angle and Joint Velocity from male students on Kimentic Variable. So training on hip joint force of flection and extension of female students is needed. Both male and female students showed relatively bigger result of arm's Angular Momentum than thigh's Angular Momentum on Type #1. This is regarded of faster Joint Velocity of Arm. Bigger result of female students of arm's contribution on Type #1 than male students can be said as Female student's weaker hip joint's angular muscle force than male student's, so the dependency of arm is heavier than male students. In Kinetic variable, GRF showed bigger result on male students than female students. So female students need to enhance joint's torque to increase GRF than male students. On vertical Impulse, high numeric data of last two reaction of tiptoe of vertical GRF and antero-posterior GRF helped increasing impulse by extending action time of force.

  • The purpose of this study was to recognize the effects of parenting behaviors as perceived by female high school students on their loneliness and perceived competence. The subjects of this research consisted of 301 female high school students. The data collected were analyzed by multi-regression analysis. The father and mother's behaviors, defined as inconsistency, intrusiveness, physical abuse and neglect, all- resulted in increased levels of loneliness amongst the subjects, and also negatively influenced their perceived competence. However, the parent's monitoring, reasoning and affection behaviors tended to reduced loneliness and perceived lack of competence. The father and mother's affection, when recognized as such by female adolescents, revealed itself to be a positive influence on their various areas of perceived competence. In conclusion, parenting behaviors may affect loneliness and perceived competence on the part of female adolescents during the ego-identity formation stage.

  • For the purpose of developing 'Web-Based Nutritional Education Program', this study analyzed nutritional problems of junior/senior high school students and set appropriate instructional goals for nutritional education program. Survey questionnaires were distributed from October 21,2002 to October 26, 2002 to a total of 564 students at three junior high schools and five senior high schools located in Seoul. The total number of questionnaires collected and used in our study was 479, which is 84.9% of the total questionnaires distributed. According to the survey results, three student groups (male and female students at junior high schools and female students at senior high schools) had lower than an ideal body weight. In case of their Basal Metabolic Indices (BMI), the female students and junior high school students showed a tendency to be underweight, while the other three student groups were within the normal range. The result of the survey showed that all four groups of students showed a deficiency in nutrient intake of calories, calcium and thiamin when compared with Korean RDA. Particularly, in the case of the female students at senior high schools, the deficiency of iron intake was a problem. The survey about food attitudes and food habits of the students showed that the senior high school students had more problems when compared with their junior high school counterparts (p < .001). Therefore, the instructional goals of nutritional education program were set as follows: 1) To improve the level of understanding and the perception of junior and senior high school students about the importance of a dietary lifestyle. 2) To change food attitudes and nutritional knowledge related to individual dietary 1ifestyle, so as to maintain good health through the enhancement of the students' physical activities. We found out that it is critically important to factor in the existing problems of food attitudes and food habits, as well as nutrient intake among junior and senor high school students when setting objectives for nutritional education programs. • This study was conducted to examine the effect of family environment on smoking behavior, smoking knowledge and smoking attitude in primary school students. For the purpose of the study, a questionnaire-based examination was made with 1,476 sixth-grade students in Taegu from November 1st to 30th, 1998. The results of the study are summarized as follows. Out of 22 points for smoking knowledge, the male student group got 12.9 points, and the female student group 13.0 points. For both groups, students with better school achievement showed a significantly higher score (p<0.01). For the female student group, those who had nonsmoking fathers showed a significantly higher score(p<0.05). A perfect score for smoking attitude was 20 points. The male student group received 14.9 points and the female student group 16.3. For both groups, the score appeared to be significantly higher in the students who had better school achievement and no smoking experience. For the female group, the score was higher if they were living with widowed mothers or had nonsmoking parents. The percentage of smoking experience was 22.0% for the male group and 4.7% for the female group. The present smoking percentage of both groups accounted for 0.3% and 0.1%, respectively. The percentage of the male group's smoking experience was significantly higher if school achievement was poor, if the mother has religious, and if her occupation belonged to significantly different category. For the female group, it was significantly higher if a mother's educational background was less than the primary school level, or if a mother smokes. Family adaptability and cohesion were not significant variables for both groups. The score for smoking knowledge according to family cohesion was highest if male and female members were in an enmeshed state. For the female group, the higher the family adaptability, the significantly higher the score for smoking knowledge. The score for smoking attitude according to family cohesion showed a significant difference for both groups. The family adaptability was not a significant variable for both groups. The results of multiple regression analysis, with the scores for smoking knowledge and smoking attitude were used as a dependent variable, revealed that, for both groups, the better the school achievement. For the female group, the higher the family cohesion, the significantly higher the score(p<0.01). For the male group, the score for smoking attitude was significant1y higher if school achievement was better, if students were living with a widowed mother or father, if they had drinking mothers, if family adaptability was low, if family cohesion was high, or if the score for smoking knowledge was high. For the female group, the score for smoking attitude was higher if school achievement was better. Also, if famale student had nonsmoking fathers, if the family adaptability was lower, on the higher the score for smoking knowledge, a smoking attitude scored higher. The results of a multiple logistic analysis, with smoking experience as a dependent variable, revealed that, for the male student group, the worse the school achievement, the higher the score for smoking knowledge, the lower the score for smoking attitude, or the lower the family adaptability, the higher the percentage of smoking experience. For the female student group, the higher the score for smoking knowledge or the lower the score for smoking attitude, the higher the percentage of smoking experience. In conclusion, family environment, including smoking of parents and family functions, had a great effect on smoking knowledge, smoking attitude and smoking experience of students, and it is required to adjust subjects and methods for smoking and nonsmoking education as smoking attitude and smoking behavior greatly differ according to sex.
