  • In past patriarchal societies, childbearing was considered the sole possession of women. At a time when women were struggling to move into society, the concept of parenting as the mainstay of the capitalist economic society and the head of the family has naturally been taken for granted by a woman named "housewife." Since the role of male babies is as important as that of females, Fathers are trying to promote the importance of the effects of fathers due to active participation in childcare and help change old perceptions of the past. Men also know the importance of participating in childcare in early childhood, but often do not know what their children want or why they cry due to lack of basic child care knowledge and lack of education. We tried to give fathers the meaning of indirect experience and change their perception of parenting by producing interactive VR content, which is completed with dad's participation, so that they can experience the child in person. In addition, through familiar childcare professional product advertisement and 360 degree stereo sound. It is made to immerse in the game to gain persuasive effect, inducing fathers to have interest and interest in childrearing.

  • Traditionally, fathers have been a bread earner and responsible for external matters as the head of household. However, the interest of today's fathers in their children has changed from that of the traditional fathers due to the increased employment of female, decreased birth rate and the trend of shared role in parenting. The purpose of this study was to identify the perception type of fathers of preschool children regarding obesity and the characteristics of the type by applying Q-methodology, and to create the basic data for the development of education programs for fathers or policy-making to prevent child obesity. Data were collected by applying 38 Q statements to 24 fathers of preschool children. Collected data were analyzed with the PC QUANL program. Results indicate that fathers' perception of obesity was divided into three types: 'management of physical activity and diet,' 'generous acknowledgment of reality' and 'compromised emphasis on homemade meal.' The 'compromised emphasis on homemade meal' type is those who consider homemade food important, although they sometimes suggest conditions to make their children cooperative for food. It was found that the subject of the study uniformly recognized that processed foods, fast foods or chocolates are harmful to health. The type of fathers' perception of obesity in preschool children was discussed, focusing on the perception type identified in this study.

The interviews were intended to examine their father-role, working life, balance between work and family, and demand for the educational programs for fathers with particular regard to the themes, contents, and arrangement strategies they desire of the programs. The results show that fathers have a high demand for learning detailed methods of childrearing such as how to effectively sooth and play with their child(ren). Further, it was discovered that job flexibility is the major variable that determines a man's satisfaction with his parental role. Various information about possible arrangements of fathering education was collected from the interview data, such as desired themes, number of sessions, size of the educational program, volunteer role of participants, and focus of the course (e.g., many indicated interest in focusing on gender equality). This study reveals that greater detail, more effective contents, and efficient managerial strategies are required in fathering education in order to impart broader perspectives and knowledge about how to enhance the relationship between father and child(ren).
