The purposes of this study were 1) to divide consumers into segments according to their consumption attitude and subjective knowledge about natural dyed products 2) to develop a profile for each segment with respect to the media types, the preferred media programs, the information sources, the lifestyle activities and the demographics. Data(n = 213) was collected using questionnaires via the internet. By cluster analysis of the consumers' attitude and their subjective knowledge about natural dyed products, four groups were identified 1) the loyal consumption group (20.1%), 2) the conditional/reluctant consumption group(36.6%), 3) the negative/reluctant consumption group(24.2%) and 4) the non purchasers(19.1%). Several characteristics of these four groups were then compared by ANOVA and chi-square statistics. The results indicated that the consumption attitude and subjective knowledge could be the criteria for segmenting the consumers and that the segmented groups had unique consumer characteristics. Implications of this study were discussed.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of demographic characteristics and general buying characteristics of knitwear consumers on evaluation criteria and information source searching. In this study, a self-administered questionnaire was distributed to young career women and female undergraduate students. Of 580 questionnaires, 496 were used in the following analysis. The data was analyzed with the SPSS package. The research method used factor and reliability analysis to segment consumers by their knitwear evaluation criteria. T-test, one-way ANOVA and χ²were used to characterize the impact of characteristics of the consumer on knitwear evaluation criteria and information source searching in buying knitwear. The results of this study were as follows. First, the information sources of consumers were significantly different depending on their demographic characteristics(age). According to the difference in relationship between the age of consumers and information sources, the younger the consumer, the more information in fashion magazine, the older, in fashion advertisement on catalog. Second, the knitwear evaluation criteria of consumers was classified according to six characteristics - quality, price, aesthetic, situation, self-expression and external. Their knitwear evaluation criteria were significantly different depending on demographic characteristics(job, age, education, marital status) and the general buying characteristics of knitwear(annual knitwear/clothing buying expense and frequency). Career women and married women placed significant importance on practical aspects like quality and price characteristics, while undergraduate students and single women placed significant importance on practical aspects like quality and price characteristics, while undergraduate students and single women placed significant importance on aesthetic and self-expression characteristics. Also, a group with higher annual knitwear/clothing buying expense and frequency considered aesthetic and self-expression characteristics more important. The lower the annual knitwear/clothing buying expense and frequency, the higher a group considered quality and price characteristics more important.

The purpose of this study were 1) to classify the consumer of outlet stole according to their patronage, 2) to investigate the differences between the patronge group and non-patronge group in 3 purchase behavior variables (shopping orientations, importance of store attributes, use of information sources) and demographic variables, and 3) to find out the reasons why consumers prefer outlet to department store's bargain sales (including clearance sales). The questionnaires were administered to 344 women living in Seoul, and the methods used to analyze the data were frequency, factor analysis, 1-test, $x^2$ test and content analysis. The results were as follows 1) outlet store consumers were classified into patronage group(n= 71) and non-patronage group(n=87). 2) There were some significant differences between patronage group and non.patronage group in 6 variables. Those who patronize outlet store does not count on the exclusiveness and the convenience of the store, enjoy common style in fashion, are price-conscious and lower in income. 3) Marketing implications were discussed according to the result of content analysis.
Contemporary fashion is experiencing a rise in design that combines heterogeneous things, or goes beyond the roles, boundaries, and meanings of existing things. This can be described as a 'heterogeneous fusion' that is different in character from the mixed use of heterogeneous materials, borrowed designs, and exaggeration of the silhouette that have been practices in fashion design, or the non-structure, deconstruction, and recombination that have existed since the age when post-structuralism was a central philosophy. This 'fusion' causes a 'confusion' of the generally accepted mental principle of 'one sense reacting to one stimulus', and breaks the boundary between the various senses, causing confusion in the senses of the individual, and leading him or her to experience unfamiliar feelings. In this process, all information received from external sources is not perceived as it is seen, but rather is perceived through a fusion of the individual's motivations, the environment in which it is perceived, the resulting change in emotion, and the individual's past memories. The combination of these heterogeneous elements visually accepted, or such a non-territorial combination acts as a 'fusion of senses' in the individual's perception, which causes confusion in the homeostasis of perception, and a change in emotion, and serves as a factor that causes the information to be stored in the memory for a long time. In parallel with deconstruction or non-structure, the 'heterogeneous fusion' found in modern fashion is taking root as a representative creative trend, and is represented in various forms such as the mixed use of subjects and materials, non-territorial borrowing, fusion with animal forms, fusion with non-physical geometry, and fusion with heterogeneous hair decoration.
This study analyzed purchase behavior according to the risk perceptions when customers buy Cosmetics at Internet Shopping Malls. Participants were 232 women in their 20s and 30s with more than one buying experience at an internet fashion shopping mall. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Cronbach's analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and a Duncan test. Results were as follows. Firstly, five factors of risk perception were identified: These were the payment risk, service risk, quality risk, price risk and experience risk. Secondly, customers of internet shopping malls could be categorized into three groups: A low risk perception group, a payment risk perception group and a high risk perception group. Factor analysis showed significant differences between these groups( p<.001). Thirdly, purchase behavior based on the purchase standards, purchase items, information searching were investigated according to the different groups of risk perception of internet shopping malls and results again significant differences between groups (p<.05, p<.001).
This study investigates consumer's traits of market segmentation based on the apparel benefits. The subjects were 302 college students living in Yunnam, China. The mean, ANOVA, factor analysis, Duncan test, and K-means cluster analysis were used for statisticals analysis. The results of this study are as follows. The college students were classified, into six subdivisions, according to the apparel benefits by cluster analysis: indifference group, utility pursuit group, hedonic/brand pursuit group, individuality pursuit group, social recognition/fashion pursuit group, and pursuit benefits-minded group. In the factors of happiness-pursuing and life-centered of materialism, significant differences were found according to the groups of apparel benefits, and all factors of symbolic consumption and brand loyalty were found to have significant differences according to the groups of apparel benefits. The evaluation criteria of clothing were significantly different, depending on apparel benefits subdivision in criteria of aesthetic, socio-psychological, and utility. The use of information was shown to have significant differences, according to the groups of apparel benefits. The study results are highly expected to be utilized as useful sources in marketing plans for the midwest of China.
The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between benefits segmentation and knitwear purchasing behavior of college female students in the U.S. The questionnaires for this survey were developed to measure knitwear purchasing behavior and benefits segmentation. The questionnaire was administered to 119 female college students in the University of California. The data was analyzed by percentage, frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test. The female college students in the U.S. were classified into fourth subdivisions by the cluster analysis. In the case of fashion information sources of knit wear, significant differences were found according to benefits sought subdivision in observation of famous people's clothing, fashion articles in magazines and newspapers, TV advertisements, Newspaper advertisements, advice of salespeople, and Catalogs. The evaluation criteria of knit wear product of consumers were significantly different depending on benefits sought subdivision in design/style, quality of construction, fashionable, brand and store name, pleasing to others, prestige, and sexy. The store attributes of knitwear product of consumers were significantly different depending on benefits sought subdivision in friendliness of sales personnel, product knowledge of sales personnel, brand names, new fashion, and variety of products. The outlook for the industry of knitwear look to remain bright, there should be a continuous effort to research and invest in consumer satisfaction of knitwear.
KakaoTalk has become a reputed mobile social network and an inseparable part of people's lives by leading the mobile industry in South Korea. However, there is a lack of studies in academia regarding perception of the consumers and assessment toward the mobile marketing and services by KakaoTalk. Based on the theoretical orientation of Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM: Petty & Cacioppo, 1986) and electronic service quality (E-S-QUAL: Parasuraman, Zeithaml, & Malhotra, 2005), this study investigates the effects of information sources (Charles & Richard, 1988), and examines the consumer perception toward the service quality of KakaoTalk. A total of 209 responses were collected, using a self-administered survey in Seoul and Gyeonggi province, South Korea from March 2015 to June 2015. A seven-point Likert scale survey was developed to measure the information sources (i.e., argument quality, post popularity, and post attractiveness), electronic service quality (i.e., efficiency, fulfillment, privacy, and system availability), attitude (i.e., usefulness, preference, and overall attitude), and behavioral intention (i.e., like intention, share intention, and purchase intention). This study reveals a consensus that an online environment is different from the traditional retail context in terms of information source and service quality. Specifically, the results indicate that argument quality greatly impacts the attitudes of the individuals and their behavioral intention toward mobile shopping via social media channel. The most powerful factor among E-S-QUAL is "efficiency." This dimension of service quality influences the customer perception of usefulness and preference as well as share and like intention toward mobile shopping on KakaoTalk.
This study adapted OSL (Optimum Stimulation Level) to induce the customer's behavior, especially customer's fashion behavior. The purpose of the fashion advertisement was to accelerate the purchasing desire for the clothes by catching the customer's attention. OSL is one of the methods. OSL can satisfy customers' desires using the new stimulation that reveals a customer's individual characters. In general, women are more concern about fashion and sensitive to the clothes of new fashion than men. But nowadays, many of the men are also concern about their appearance and fashion. The differences between men and women in fashion behavior and in each factor, of OSL, especially a relationship between OSL factor and fashion behavior are researched in this study. Such differences analyzed to find the sources that can satisfy their various desires. This study was expected to provide good information to plan advertising strategy in unpredictable market situation. The subjects for this study were 308 male and female university students. Mehrabian and Russell (1974),s ASTS(Arousal Seeking Tendency Scale) was adapted to measure the OSL, and twenty questions regarding fashion leadership and clothing importance released by Kwon, Shin, Lee, are adapted to measure the fashion behavior. An ANOVA was used as statistical analyzing method to find out the difference between men and women in fashion behavior. The relationship between fashion behavior and difference between men and women in OSL factors were measured by MANOVA. Conclusions were as follows; 1. In consciousness degree of fashion leadership and clothing importance in the fashion behavior, women were higher than men. 2. There was a difference between men and women in OSL's each factors in "unusual stimuli" and "sensuality", but there is no significant statistical difference in factors of "change", "risk", "new environment". Therefore women are higher than men in the stimulation level of "unusual stimuli" and" sensuality". 3. Low element of OSL relating to fashion behavior is from "change" and "unusual stimuli". 4. For the relationship between OSL and fashion behavior, fashion leadership and clothing importance were recognized better in the group of higher level of "change" and "unusual stimuli" irrespective of sex. In the case of "change" which is one of OSL factors, High OSL groups were higher than low OSL groups in the consciousness level of the fashion leadership and clothing importance. In men's case, High OSL-Change groups were higher than Low OSL-Change groups in the fashion leadership, but there was no difference between two groups in the consciousness of the clothing importance. In the case of "Unusual Stimuli", High OSL groups were superior to Low OSL groups in the fashion leadership, but there was no significant difference between two groups in the clothing importance. In women's case, High OSL-Change groups were superior to Low OSL-Change groups. In the case of "Unusual Stimuli", High OSL groups were superior to Low OSL groups in the fashion leadership, but there was no difference between two groups in the clothing importance.
