유압식 추락 방지장치에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Hydraulic Fall Prevention Device)

  • Since a tower crane is too high for a worker to ascend and by the wind in the high altitude, the possibility of a safety accident is very high, a lift assist is used. In this study, the hydraulic fall prevention device using the pressure generation device by Seok, et al. was developed. For this, the effects on the fall prevention performances of factors such as gear clearance, oil viscosity, rotative velocity and so on were evaluated by the analysis of fluid flow using FEM and the prototype was producted and a function test was performed.

  • 본 논문에서는 수심적분 2차원 모형을 하나 소개하고, 이 모형이 가질 수 있는 오차의 한계를 민감도분석을 통해 제시하였다. 민감도 분석 결과, Manning 조도계수, 혼합계수, 침강속도, 한계전단력 등이 부유사농도에 대해 모형에 미치는 영향은 매우 크게 나타났으며, 조위와 확산계수의 영향은 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다.

Discrimination of Fall and Fall-like ADL Using Tri-axial Accelerometer and Bi-axial Gyroscope

  • A threshold-based fall recognition algorithm using a tri-axial accelerometer and a bi-axial gyroscope mounted on the skin above the upper sternum was proposed to recognize fall-like activities of daily living (ADL) events. The output signals from the tri-axial accelerometer and bi-axial gyroscope were obtained during eight falls and eleven ADL action sequences. The thresholds of signal vector magnitude (SVM_Acc), angular velocity (${\omega}_{res}$), and angular variation (${\theta}_{res}$) were calculated using MATLAB. When the measured values of SVM_Acc, ${\omega}_{res}$, and ${\theta}_{res}$ were compared to the threshold values (TH1, TH2, and TH3), fall-like ADL events could be distinguished from a fall. When SVM_Acc was larger than 2.5 g (TH1), ${\omega}_{res}$ was larger than 1.75 rad/s (TH2), and ${\theta}_{res}$ was larger than 0.385 rad (TH3), eight falls and eleven ADL action sequences were recognized as falls. When at least one of these three conditions was not satisfied, the action sequences were recognized as ADL. Fall-like ADL events such as jogging and jumping up (or down) have posed a problem in distinguishing ADL events from an actual fall. When the measured values of SVM_Acc, ${\omega}_{res}$, and ${\theta}_{res}$ were applied to the sequential processing algorithm proposed in this study, the sensitivity was determined to be 100% for the eight fall action sequences and the specificity was determined to be 100% for the eleven ADL action sequences.

노인의 낙상과 연관된 위험요소와 균형 측정 방법 (Risk Factors and Methods in Balance Assessment Associated with Fall in Older Adults)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine risk factors and methods in balance assessment associated with fall in older adults. Methods : This article describes many of the tools that can be used to evaluate the physical parameters associated with fall risk in older adults. Results : Composite ratings of performance(Tinetti balance assessment, Guralnik test battery, Berg balance scale, modified-physical performance test) measures the score compounding the balance measure to determine fall risk. Static balance instruments are composed of FICSIT-4 that measures the ability of maintaining foot positions and CTSIB that measures postural stability. Dynamic balance instrument is composed of functional reach test. To measure walking velocity and mobility, 8-foot up-and-go test and walking around two cones are used. We can use 1-RM and to measure muscular strength, isokinetic dynamometery, and 30-second chair stand to measure lower extremity muscle strength. Conclusion : The described instruments are easy to use and widespread. To select and use these tool kits carefully is considered to be helpful in identifying those who are most likely to fall. The final part of the article includes a brief discussion of the potential role of exercise training interventions to improve these physical parameters and prevent falls.

서포트벡터머신을 이용한 충격전 낙상방향 판별 (Determination of Fall Direction Before Impact Using Support Vector Machine)

  • Fall-related injuries in elderly people are a major health care problem. This paper introduces determination of fall direction before impact using support vector machine (SVM). Once a falling phase is detected, dynamic characteristic parameters measured by the accelerometer and gyroscope and then processed by a Kalman filter are used in the SVM to determine the fall directions, i.e., forward (F), backward (B), rightward (R), and leftward (L). This paper compares the determination sensitivities according to the selected parameters for the SVM (velocities, tilt angles, vs. accelerations) and sensor attachment locations (waist vs. chest) with regards to the binary classification (i.e., F vs. B and R vs. L) and the multi-class classification (i.e., F, B, R, vs. L). Based on the velocity of waist which was superior to other parameters, the SVM in the binary case achieved 100% sensitivities for both F vs. B and R vs. L, while the SVM in the multi-class case achieved the sensitivities of F 93.8%, B 91.3%, R 62.3%, and L 63.6%.

  • Vertical velocity is critical in many areas, such as the control of unmanned aerial vehicles, fall detection, and virtual reality. Conventionally, the integration of GPS (Global Positioning System) with an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) was popular for the estimation of vertical components. However, GPS cannot work well indoors and, more importantly, has low accuracy in the vertical direction. In order to overcome these issues, IMU-barometer integration has been suggested instead of IMU-GPS integration. This paper proposes a new complementary filter for the estimation of vertical velocity based on IMU-barometer integration. The proposed complementary filter is designed to minimize drift error in the estimated velocity by adding PID control in addition to a zero velocity update technique.

은닉 마르코프 모델을 이용한 동영상 기반 낙상 인식 알고리듬 (Video Based Fall Detection Algorithm Using Hidden Markov Model)

  • 동영상에서 추출한 변수값을 은닉 마르코프 모델(Hidden Markov Model; HMM)에 적용한 새로운 낙상 인식 알고리듬을 제안한다. 개인간 낙상 양식의 차이나 유사 낙상을 실제 낙상과 구분하기 위한 기계 학습 방법으로 HMM알고리듬을 사용하였다. 비디오의 낙상 특징 변수를 얻기 위해 동영상의 광류를 구한 후 이를 주성분 분석 방식에 적용하여 움직임을 정량화하였다. 주성분 분석으로 얻어진 전체 움직임 벡터의 각도, 장단축의 비, 속도등의 조합으로 새로운 여러 종류의 낙상 특징 변수를 정의한 후 이를 HMM에 적용하여 결과를 비교, 분석하였다. 이들 변수들 중에 각도에 의해 얻어진 변수가 가장 좋은 결과를 보여 본 실험에서 91.5%의 민감도(성공 감지율)와 88.01% 의 특이도(실패 감지율)를 나타내었다.

소경 굴참나무 횡절 원판의 강제송풍천연건조 (Forced Air-drying of Cross-cut Disks from Small-diameter Logs of Quercus variabilis)

  • 소경 참나무 횡절목을 열처리하여 브로치 등 악세사리용 소재로 개발하였다. 그러나 국산참나무는 난건조수종으로 특히 횡절 원판을 건조결함없이 건조하기 어렵다. 소경 굴참나무(Quercus variabilis)에서 얻은 원판(섬유방향 길이 7 mm)을 여름과 가을에 강제송풍천연건조하면서 여러 조건에 따른 건조수율을 조사하였다. 같은 조건에서 가을에 건조한 시편의 최종 평균함수율이 여름에 건조한 시편의 평균함수율보다 낮았다. 두 계절 모두 큰 직경의 시편은 풍속에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았으나 작은 직경의 시편은 풍속이 높았을 때 최종 평균함수율이 약간 낮았다. 두 계절 모두 직경이 큰 시편의 할렬 발생빈도가 직경이 작은 시편보다 높았는데 가을에는 2배 정도인데 반해 여름에는 4배가 넘었다. 여름에 낮은 풍속에서 건조한 큰 직경 시편의 할렬 발생빈도가 높은 이유는 여름의 높은 습도와 낮은 풍속으로 반복적인 수분 응축과 증발이 일어났기 때문으로 설명할 수 있다.

Damage Assessment of Free-fall Dropped Object on Sub-seabed in Offshore Operation

  • This paper presents the damage assessment of a free-fall dropped object on the seabed. The damage to a dropped object totally depends on the relationship between the impact energy and the soil strength at the mudline. In this study, unexpected dropping scenarios were first assumed by varying the relevant range of the impact velocity, structure geometry at the moment of impact, and soil strength profile along the penetration depth. Theoretical damage assessments were then undertaken for a free-fall dropping event with a fixed final embedment depth for the structure. This paper also describes the results of a three-dimensional large deformation finite element analysis undertaken for the purpose of validation. The analyses were carried out using the coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian approach, modifying the simple elastic-perfectly plastic Tresca soil model. The validation exercises for each dropping scenario showed good agreement, and the present numerical approach was capable of predicting the behavior of a free-fall dropped object.

석회석 노천채광장의 분진 비산특성 (Dust Fall Property of Open Cut Limestone Mine)

  • 본 연구에서는 Dust Fall Sample을 설치하여 한라시멘트 옥계 채광현장의 천공, 발파작업시 발생되는 분진을 측정하고, 실험적인 방법으로 100m길이의 가설 풍동을 만들어 풍속별 비산거리 및 분진입도 분포 등을 파악하여 주변작업 환경영향을 평가하였다. 그 결과 낙진량은 기본적으로 분진원으로부터 거리가 멀어질 수록 현저하게 감소하며, 같은 조건일 때는 풍속이 빠를수록 낙진량도 증가하였다. 또한 석회석 노천채광시 발파작업장으로부터 100m 내외의 주변 지표상의 낙진량은 아주 작은량임을 알 수 있었다.
