동하중을 받는 구조물의 최적화에 관한 연구동향 (An Overview of Optimization of Structures Subjected to Transient Loads)

  • Various aspects of structural optimization techniques under transient loads are extensively reviewed. The main themes of the paper are treatment of time dependent constraints, calculation of design sensitivity, and approximation. Each subject is reviewed with the corresponding papers that have been published since 1970s. The treatment of time dependent constraints in both the direct method and the transformation method is discussed. Two ways of calculating design sensitivity of a structure under transient loads are discussed - direct differentiation method and adjoint variable method. The approximation concept mainly focuses on re- sponse surface method in crashworthiness and local approximation with the intermediate variable Especially, as an approximated optimization technique, Equivalent Static Load method which takes advantage of the well-established static response optimization technique is introduced. And as an application area of dynamic response optimization technique, the structural optimization in flexible multibody dynamic systems is re- viewed in the viewpoint of the above three themes

원형탱크 구조물 벽체의 텐던 배치에 대한 고찰 (Effect of the Prestressing Tendon Arrangement in the Wall of Circular Storage Tank)

  • 등가하중법은 프리스트레싱 텐던의 영향을 구조물에 작용하는 외력으로서 고려하는 것으로, 프리스트레싱의 효과를 명확히 하고 해석을 단순화시켜주는 유력한 방법론이다. 본 연구에서는 등가하중법의 관점에서 원형탱크 벽체의 원환텐던 및 수직텐던의 배치가 구조물에 미치는 영향을 이론적으로 분석하였으며, 관련된 설계 시방서에서 규정하고 있지는 않지만 실구조물에서 적지 않은 영향을 미칠 수도 있는 사항들에 대해 고찰하였다. 원환텐던의 편심배치시 텐던의 직선이동의 원리가 성립하므로 어떠한 편심배치에 대해서도 구조거동은 크게 달라지지 않을 것으로 사료된다. 또한, 기존의 수직텐던의 설계 및 해석에 있어서 편심배치에 의한 모멘트 효과를 잘못 산정한 예에 대해 올바른 해석법을 제시하였다. 일반적으로 수직텐던의 편심배치는 구조적으로 큰 효과가 있다고 보기는 힘든 것으로 사료된다. 수직텐던과 관련하여 프와송비의 효과나 절곡부위의 영향이 흔히 간과되어 왔으나, 예제의 분석결과 때로는 원형탱크의 구조거동에 적지 않은 영향을 미칠수도 있다고 판단된다.

Mixture of Cumulants Approximaton 법에 의한 발전 시물레이션에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Probabilistic Production Cost Simulation by the Mixture of Cumulants Approximation)

  • This paper describes a new method of calculating expected energy generation and loss of load probability (L.O.L.P) for electric power system operation and expansion planning. The method represents an equivalent load duration curve (E.L.D.C) as a mixture of cumulants approximation (M.O.N.A). By regarding a load distribution as many normal distributions-rather than one normal distribution-and representing each of them in terms of Gram-Charlier expansion, we could improve the accuracy of results. We developed an algorithm which automatically determines the number of distribution and demarcation points. In modeling of a supply system, we made subsets of generators according to the number of generator outage: since the calculation of each subset's moment needs to be processed rapidly, we further developed specific recursive formulae. The method is applied to the test systems and the results are compared with those of cumulant, M.O.N.A. and Booth-Baleriaux method. It is verified that the M.O.C.A. method is faster and more accure than any other method.

Buckling response of smart plates reinforced by nanoparticles utilizing analytical method

  • This article deals with the buckling analysis in the plates containing carbon nanotubes (CNTs) subject to axial load. In order to control the plate smartly, a piezoelectric layer covered the plate. The plate is located in elastic medium which is modeled by spring elements. The Mori-Tanaka low is utilized for calculating the equivalent mechanical characteristics of the plate. The structure is modeled by a thick plate and the governing equations are deduced using Hamilton's principle under the assumption of higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT). The Navier method is applied to obtain the bulking load. The effects of the applied voltage to the smart layer, agglomeration and volume percent of CNT nanoparticles, geometrical parameters and elastic medium of the structure are assessed on the buckling response. It has been demonstrated that by applying a negative voltage, the buckling load is increased significantly.

비틀림 거동을 하는 구조물의 설계 편심 (The Design Eccentricity for Torsionally Unbalanced Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 구조물의 안전성과 경제성을 함께 도모하도록 하기 위하여 모드 해석법을 이용하여 비틀림 거동을 하는 구조물의 동적 거동을 정적 하중으로 치환할 경우에 대한 횡하중 중심점을 가정하고, 횡하중 중심점과 구조물의 강도 중심을 일치시키도록 구조물의 설계 편심을 조절하는 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 방법에 의해 구조물을 설계하였을 경우, 다른 내진 기준에 의해 설계된 구조물과 비교하여 지나친 추가 연성도를 요구하지 않는다는 것을 보여준다.

  • 성능에 기초한 내진설계 분야에서 구조물의 내진성능평가를 위해서는 비탄성 지진거동을 보다 정확하게 예즉할 필요가 있다. 성능기초 설계기준에 반영되어 있는 내진성능 평가 방법 가운데 하나인 pushover해석을 이용한 방법은 몇몇 연구자들에 의하여 다양한 해석 방법론이 개발되었다. 이 방법을 사용하여 비탄성 전체 또는 국부적 지진응답을 보다 정확하게 평가하기 위해서는 사용되는 횡하중 분배가 구조시스템과 지반운동의 동적특성에 부합되도록 반영되어야 한다. 그리고 구조물의 변형능력을 합리적으로 평가하여 성능점을 보다 정확하게 산정해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 개선된 적응적 횡하중 분배방법과 건물의 등가응답을 이용하여 비탄성 지진응답을 정확하고 효율적으로 평가할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 건물의 전체 비탄성 거동에 대한 내진성능을 평가하고 국부적인 비탄성 지진응답을 정확하게 산정하는데 사용될 수 있다. 또한 제안된 방법의 정확성과 타당성을 검증하기 위해서 비탄성 시간이력해석과 기존의 다른 해석방법들에 의한 비탄성 지진응답과 비교하였다.

등가정하중을 이용한 구조최적설계 방법을 이용한 비선형 거동구조물의 최적설계 (Non-linear Structural Optimization Using NROESL)

  • Nonlinear Response Optimization using Equivalent Static Loads (NROESL) method/algorithm is proposed to perform optimization of non-linear response structures. It is more expensive to carry out nonlinear response optimization than linear response optimization. The conventional method spends most of the total design time on nonlinear analysis. Thus, the NROESL algorithm makes the equivalent static load cases for each response and repeatedly performs linear response optimization and uses them as multiple loading conditions. The equivalent static loads are defined as the loads in the linear analysis, which generates the same response field as those in non-linear analysis. The algorithm is validated for the convergence and the optimality. The function satisfies the descent condition at each cycle and the NROESL algorithm converges. It is mathematically validated that the solution of the algorithm satisfies the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker necessary condition of the original nonlinear response optimization problem. The NROESL algorithm is applied to two structural problems. Conventional optimization with sensitivity analysis using the finite difference method is also applied to the same examples. The results of the optimizations are compared. The proposed method is very efficient and derives good solutions.

Asymptotically Stable Adaptive Load Torque Observer for Precision Position Control of BLDC Motor

  • A new control method for the robust position control of a brushless DC(BLDC) motor using the asymptotically stable adaptive load torque observer is presented. A precision position control is obtained for the BLDC motor system approximately linearized using the field-orientation method. And the application of the load torque observer is published in [1] using fixed gain. However, the flux linkage is not exactly known for a load torque observer. Therefore, a model reference adaptive observer is considered to overcome the problem of the unknown parameter in this paper. And stability analysis is carried out using Liapunov stability theorem. As a result, asymptotically stable observer gain can be obtained without affecting the overall system response. The load disturbance detected by the asymptotically stable adaptive observer is compensated by feedforwarding the equivalent current having the fast response.

  • Load models for the analysis and simulation of power system are often introduced when the more accurate result is required. This work presents a single expressed load model as T-equivalent circuit of induction motor, for the composite characteristics of various loads. The parameters of the proposed load model are identified based on the system identification method as Recursive Least Square identification method. Case study results show the accuracy of proposed load model, and compared with some field measurements.

추진인버터 시험을 위한 실시간 부하 시뮬레이터에 관한 연구 (Study on Real-Time Load Simulator for Testing Propulsion Inverter Test)

  • A newly-built inverter has to undergo a series of stress tests in the final stage of production line. This can be achieved by connecting it to a dynamometer consisting of a three-phase machine joined by a rigid shaft to a DC load machine. The latter is controlled to create some specific load characteristic needed for the test. In this paper a test method is proposed, in which no mechanical equipment is needed. The suggested test stand consists only of a inverter to be tested and a simulator converter. Both devices are connected back-to-back on the AC-side via smoothing reactors. The simulator operates in real-time as an equivalent load circuit, so that the device under test will only notice the behaviour of a three-phase machine under consideration of the load. In oder to prove rightness of the suggested test method, the simulation and actural experiment carried out emulation for a 2.2kW induction motor.
