  • Using the equivalent ARMA model representation of the mixed random errors, we propose Klaman filter design methods for aided INS(Inertial Navigation System) which contains the gyroscope mixed random errors. At first step, considering the characteristic of indirect feedback Kalman filter used in the aided INS, we perform the time difference of equivalent ARMA model. Next, according to the order of the time differenced ARMA model, we achieve the state space conversion of that by two methods. If the order of AR part is greater than MA part, we use controllable or observable canonical form. Otherwise, we establish the state apace equation via the method that several step ahead predicts are included in the state variable, where we can derive high and low order models depending on the variable which is compensated from gyroscope output. At final step, we include the state space equation of gyroscope mixed random errors into aided INS Kalman filter model. Through the simulation, we show that both the high and low order filter models proposed give less navigation errors compared to the conventional filter which assume the mixed random errors as white noise.

  • The Keumryeong deposits is a low grade copper deposits in which copper minerals form disseminated grains and thin veinlets in felsic volcanics seem to be dacite. Alteration of the volcanics consists mainly pervasive propylitization and silicification. Potassic alteration characterized by biotite developed locally adjacent to southwestern contact of granodiorite body. Principal sulfide minerals in altered zone are mainly pyrite and lesser chalcopyrite. Chalcopyrite content in potassic zone is relatively higher than that of surrounding propylitized zone. Pyrite and chalcopyrite accompanies magnetite, molybdenite, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, pentlandite, marcasite, hematite, ilmenite, rutile, bismuthinite and native Bi as disseminations, veinlets and knots. Granodiorite body is propylitized and contains veinlets of pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite. Fluid inclusions in sulfide-bearing quartz veinlets and quartz grains of felsic volcanics and granodiorite in altered zone consist of liquid-rich, vapor-rich, $CO_2-bearing$ and halite-bearing inclusions. These four types of inclusion intimately associated on a microscopic scale and indicate condensing or boiling of ore fluid during mineralization. Homogenization temperature of coexisting fluid inclusions are mostly in the range of 350 to $450^{\circ}C$. High salinity fluid contains 28.6 to 48.4 weight percent NaCI equivalent and moderate salinity fluid cotains 0.5 to 12.5 weight percent NaCl equivalent. Pressure estimated from $CO_2$ mole fraction of $CO_2-bearing$ inclusion range 160 to 375 bars. The Kigu copper deposits is a fissure filling copper vein developed 500 m south from the Keumryong deposits. Mineralogy and fluid inclusion data of the Kigu deposits are similar to that of the Keumryeong deposits. Homogenization temperature of fluid inclusions from the Kigu deposits are reasonable agreement with temperature estimated from sulfidation curve of cubanite-chalcopyrite-pyrite-pyrrhotite and pyrite-pyrrhotite mineral assemblages. Not only mineral occurrence and wall rock alteration in the Keumryeong deposits but also fluid inclusion data such as temperature, salinity, pressure and boiling evidences are similar to those of porphyry copper deposits.

  • The purpose of thin paper is to test difference of the two question formats, open-ended and dichotomous choice formats, in the contingent valuation method using the estimated recreational benefits. The data were collected from the visitors at the Songnisan National Park. The recreational benefit based on the equivalent variation. The two question formats, but the same content, were asked of the same individuals. In this analysis, it was used travel cost and monthly income as the exogenous variables, which assumed a linear functional form for the WTP equation. The model assumed a bivariate normal distribution on the basis of the probit and tobit model concerning the censored zero WTP. The result showed no differences in the recreational benefits from the different question formats under a same respondent. The mean benefit was estimated 25.556 Won per 5 years per visitors.

  • As a pre-study for researches on powering characteristics of straight-framed V-bottom hull forms for usual commercial vessels, practicability of such a hull is investigated from viewpoints of over-all ship economy. For this purpose, a trawler hull of straight-elements with double chines, SV(T)-1, similar to Prof. Nevitt's W-8 in size and hull form coefficients was designed and tested at the SNU Ship Model Towing Tank for resistance measurements. The result is given in Fig.3 together with those of W-8 and other equivalent hulls of double curvature, such as FAO 135a-173, Doust and Takgi. The curves of the latters are reproduction of Prof. Nevitt's analysis, and given for comparison purpose. With in speed range of $9.0{\sim}10.5$ konts the resistance coefficients of SV(T)-1 are $18{\sim}25%$ higher than those of W-8, and $5{\sim}20%$ and $12{\sim}14%$ higher than those of FAO 135a-173 and Doust respectively. SV(T)-1, however, is slightly superior in resistance characteristics than Takagi's equivalent hull within the speed range. On the other hand, an equation for reduction rates of hull construction cost required to compensate for propulsion power increase in straight-elements hulls was derived from the definition of the economic efficiency of commercial vessels. The solution of the equation is given in Fig.4 graphically, from which it is known that $10{\sim}20%$ increase in propulsion power can be compensated by $8{\sim}16%$ reduction in hull construction cost. Considering simplicity and less equipments required in construction of straight -elements hulls, the author does argue for attainability of the above reduction rates in hull construction cost. Consequently, it is concluded that there is clear feasibility to adopt straight-elements hulls for usual commercial vessels of medium and small-size. And a further research will be done to obtain reliable data for chine shapes having good flowliness with the flow around ships depending on ship's size and speed.

  • In this paper, the dynamic characteristic of vibrating system which has translational and rotational degrees of freedom is studied. The moment of inertia of the system is modeled here as the inerter and the equivalent model to the system is proposed using dynamic stiffness method. It is shown that the size of inerter plays a major role to determine the dynamic characteristic of the system. This two degree of freedom system(DOF) is applied as a dynamic vibration absorber(DVA) to the elimination of single peak of main body. The solution for the undamped DVA is presented in analytical form while the damped DVA is designed using fixed point theory. The numerical examples are presented for verifying the methods.

  • This study started to deduce a permeability relationship that can consider the geometric features of various porous media under different flow regimes. With reference to the previous works of Kozeny and Carman, the conventional Darcy-Weisbach relation (Darcy's friction flow equation) was reviewed and expanded for porous flow analysis. Based on the capillary model, this relation was transformed to the friction equivalent permeability (FEP) definition. The validity of the FEP definition was confirmed by means of comparison with the Kozeny-Carman equation. Hereby, it was shown that the FEP definition is the generalized form of the Kozeny-Carman equation, which is confined to laminar flow through a circular capillary. In conclusion, the FEP definition as a new permeability estimation method was successfully developed by expanding the Darcy-Weisbach relation for porous flow analyses.

  • Radiation shielding of affinity material, which is widely used in medical institutions, is made in sheet form and is mainly applied to apron. Shielding performance is presented based on lead equivalent, and is presented as 0.25-0.50mmPb. In the case of shielding materials where lead is used as the main material, the shielding performance can be adjusted by thickness due to the excellent machinability of lead. However, eco-friendly shielding sheets are difficult to control shielding performance based on thickness criteria as shielding performance varies depending on the content of shielding materials, the properties of polymeric materials that are base materials, and the technical differences in the process. In this study, shielding sheets were manufactured based on thickness to solve these problems and the shielding performance was compared in this study. As a result, it was shown that the laminated structure shielding sheet was more effective.

  • The crystal structure of The crystal structure of $Ag^+$-Exchanged Zeolite A, $Ag_{4.6}Na_{7.4}-A$, dehydrated, treated with $H_2$, and evacuated, all at $350^{\circ}C$, has been determined by single crystal x-ray diffraction methods in the cubic space group Pm3m at $24(1)^{\circ}C;$ a = $12.208(2)\AA.$ The structure was refined to the final error indices R1 = 0.088 and R2 (weighted) = 0.069 using 194 independent reflections for which II_0$ > $3{\sigma}(I_0)$. On threefold axes near the centers of 6-oxygen rings, $7.4 Na^+$ ions and $0.6 Ag^+$ ions are found. Two non-equivalent 8-ring $Ag^+$ ions are found off the 8-ring planes, each containing about $0.6 Ag^+$ ions. Three non-equivalent Ag atom positions are found in the large cavity, each containing about 0.6 Ag atoms. This crystallographic analysis may be interpreted to indicate that $0.6 (Ag_6)^{3+}$ clusters are present in each large cavity. This cluster may be viewed as a nearly linear trisilver molecule $(Ag_3)^0$ (bond lengths, 2.92 and 2.94 $\AA;$ angle, $153^{\circ})$ stabilized by the coordination of each atom to a Ag^+$ ion at 3.30, 3.33, and 3.43 $\AA$, respectively. In addition, one of the silver atoms approaches all of the 0(1) oxygens of a 4-ring at $2.76\AA.$ Altogether $7.4 Na^+$ ions, $1.8 Ag^+$ ions, and 1.8 Ag atoms are located per unit cell. The remaining $1.0 Ag^+$ ion has been reduced and has migrated out of the zeolite framework to form silver crystallites on the surface of the zeolite single crystal.

  • The setting and hardening of concrete is accompanied with nonlinear temperature distribution caused by development of hydration heat of cement. Especially at early ages, this nonlinear distribution has a large influence on the crack evolution. As a result, in order to predict the exact temperature history in concrete structures it is required to examine thermal properties of concrete. In this study, the coefficient of air convection, which presents thermal transfer between surface of concrete and air, was experimentally investigated with variables such as velocity of wind and types of form. From experimental results, the coefficient of air convection was calculated using equations of thermal equilibrium. Finally, the prediction model for equivalent coefficient of air convection including effects of velocity of wind and types of form was theoretically proposed. The coefficient of air convection in the proposed model increases with velocity of wind, and its dependance on wind velocity is varied with types of form. This tendency is due to a combined heat transfer system of conduction through form and convection to air. From comparison with experimental results, the coefficient of air convection by this model was well agreed with those by experimental results.
