  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationship between self-directed learning, online class environment, and learning satisfaction of general high school students. 219 12th grade students in Sejong B High School responded to the survey questionnaire. For data analysis, correlation analysis and structural equation models were implemented. Results are as follows. First, there was a moderate or higher correlation between self-directed learning, online class environment, and learning satisfaction. Second, the model fit of the structural model among variables was good. Self-directed learning had an effect on the online class environment, and the online class environment had a positive effect on learning satisfaction. However, self-directed learning had no statistically significant effect on learning satisfaction. The researcher found the implication that learners' online class satisfaction showed a synergistic effect when students' self-directed learning ability and educators' excellent class environment are created. Also, the researcher proposed to analyze online learning satisfaction by comprehensively considering the individual, family, and school factors of various learners.

  • To estimate the thermal effect of the vegetation canopy on the surface sublayer environment numerically, we used the combined model of Pielke's1) single layer model for vegetation and Deardorff's2) Force restore method(FRM) for soil layer. Application of present combined model to three surface conditions, ie., unsaturated bare soil, saturated bare soil and saturated vegetation canopy, showed followings; The diurnal temperature range of saturated vegetation canopy is only 20K, while saturated bare soil and unsaturated bare soil surface are 30K, 35K, respectively. The maximum temperature of vegetation canopy occurs at noon, about 2 hours earlier than that of the non-vegetation cases. The peak latent heat fluxes of vegetation canopy is simulated as a 600Wm-2 at 1300 LST. They have higher values during afternoon than beforenoon. Furthermore, the energy redistribution ratios to latent heat fluxes also increased in the late afternoon. Therefore, oasis effect driving from the vegetation canopy is reinforced during late afternoon compared with the non-vegetated conditions.

  • This study analyzes the effect of job crafting behavior on career satisfaction and job satisfaction that allows active participants to perform their jobs in a work environment where autonomy and delegation are emphasized, and how the degree of person-job fit plays a role in the relationship between the three variables. The results of an empirical analysis of 360 employees of domestic companies are as follows. First, job crafting was found to have a positive (+) effect on career satisfaction and job satisfaction, respectively, confirming the importance of job crafting in a situation where the work environment changes rapidly. Second, job crafting was found to have a positive (+) effect on desire-supply fit and ability-demand fit, respectively, which are components of person-job fit. This means that person-job fit can be improved through task, cognitive, and relationship crafting. Third, it was found that desire-supply fit and ability-demand fit had a positive (+) effect on career satisfaction and job satisfaction. This means that the higher the person-job fit the more satisfied the career and job. Finally, desire-supply fit has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between job crafting, career satisfaction, and job satisfaction and ability-demand fit has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between job crafting, job satisfaction. In summarizing the above research results, this study suggested in a changing organizational environment that it is necessary to provide individual active work performance (job crafting) opportunities for career satisfaction and job satisfaction, and that it is important to create an organization's support environment to enhance person-job fit.

  • The study aimed to investigate the relation between patriarchal family environment and zero-sum beliefs, and the mediating effect of sexism on the relation based on the Instrumental Model of Group Conflict (Esses et al., 1998). This study also examined the moderating effect of gender on the relation between patriarchal family environment and sexism, and the moderated mediating effect of gender through sexism. Participants were 310 first-year college students (234 males and 76 females) in the college of science and engineering, and they completed a survey consisting of patriarchal family environment, sexism, and zero-sum belief. Data were analyzed using SPSS Macro Process, and the results indicated that the relation between patriarchal family environment and zero-sum beliefs was fully mediated by sexism. In addition, the relation between patriarchal family environment and sexism was moderated by gender. Specifically, patriarchal family environment significantly predicted sexism for men, but not for women. Moreover, only for men, sexism mediated the relation between patriarchal family environment and zero-sum beliefs. Therefore, patriarchal family environment could cause sexism which could promote zero-sum beliefs for men.

  • A study has been made of the corrosion fatigue of high strength low alloy steel in 3.5% NaCl solution under tension stress for solution temperature being 25.deg. C, 55.deg. C and 85 .deg. C. The main results obtained are as follows; 1) The corrosion fatigue crack growth rate curve could be divided into the First Region, the Second Region and the Third Region. 2) The corrosion fatigue crack growth rates in the First Region and the Second Region were Arrhenius temperature-dependent in this test range. The apparent activation energies for the corrosion fatigue cack growth rate were found to be 2000cal/mol in the First Region and 3700 cal/mol in the Second Region. 3) Hematite (Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$) as the hexahedral crystal and magnetite (Fe$_{3}$O$_{4}$) as the octahedral crystal were observed in the corrosion products on the corrosion fatigue fracture surface at 85.deg. C and the anode fusion seem to be generated in the crack tip region at high temperature. 4) The complex environment effect ratio which was defined by the ratio of fatigue crack growth rate in corrosion environment to that in air might be considered not only a criterion estimating the effect of environment quantitatively but also an important parameter in the selection of the design stress for the fail safe design. The complex environment effect was not greater than ten in this test.

  • In this article, the vibration behavior of embedded Functionally Graded Nanoplate (FGNP) employing nonlocal Kirchhoff's plate theory has been investigated under hygrothermal environment. The FGNP is considered to be supported by Winkler-Pasternak foundation. The Eringen's differential theory is used for size effect on the vibration of the FGNP. Rayleigh-Ritz method with orthogonal polynomials are employed for the governing equations and edge constraints. The advantage of this method is that it overcomes all the drawbacks of edge constraints and can easily handle any combinations of mixed edge constraints. The coefficients viz. moisture expansion, thermal expansion and elastic coefficients are considered to be transversely graded across the FGNP. The similarity of the calculated natural frequencies is examined with the previous research, and a good concurrency is seen. The objective of this article is to analyze the parameters' effect on the nondimensionalized frequency of embedded FGNP under hygrothermal environment subjected to all possible edge constraints. For this, uniform and linear rise of temperature and moisture concentration are considered. The study highlights that the nonlocal effect is pronounced for higher modes. Moreover, the effect of the Pasternak modulus is seen to be prominent compared to the Winkler modulus on non dimensionalized frequencies of FGNP.
