개선된 학부 의공학 소프트웨어 교육과정을 위한 새로운 과목의 제안 (Enhanced Undergraduate Software Education Curriculum for Biomedical Engineering: a Proposal for a New Class)

  • Biomedical engineering is a discipline where engineering principles and techniques are applied to the medical field. Biomedical engineering lies between traditional engineering and medicine and is an inter-disciplinary field in its nature. Current Korean undergraduate biomedical engineering curriculum is a simple list of traditional engineering courses combined with basic medical/life science courses. There have been efforts to improve biomedical engineering education to reflect its inter-disciplinary nature. Enhanced software course for biomedical engineering is proposed as a part of effort to overhaul the undergraduate biomedical engineering curriculum. In this newly proposed course, students will learn MATLAB and LabVIEW, which are the most widely used software tools in biomedical engineering.

특성화고등학교 수학 수업에서의 교육과정 활용 방안: 직업기초능력 함양을 위한 교수-학습 자료 개발 (A Study on Mathematics Teachers' Use of Curriculum in Vocational High Schools: Developing Materials of Teaching and Learning Mathematics for Enhancing Employ Ability)

  • 특성화고등학교의 수학 수업은 일반계고등학교와 달리 직업기초능력으로서 수리활용 능력의 함양을 지향하고 있으나 일반계고등학교와 동일한 국가 수준의 교육과정에 근거하여 수학 수업이 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 특성화고등학교에서 활용할 수 있는 수학 교수-학습 자료의 개발 방향을 탐색하고 실제 개발 결과를 사례로서 제시한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 특성화고등학교에서 학업성취도평가 대신 실시하고 있는 직업기초능력평가를 분석하고 직업기초능력의 함양이라는 관점에서 2015 개정 수학과 교육과정의 활용 방안을 모색하였다. 연구 결과, 특성화고등학교에서 활용할 수학 교수-학습 자료는 교육과정에 대한 교사의 이해에 활용을 염두에 두고 개발되어야 하며, 직업기초능력평가의 평가틀 활용 및 교육과정과의 연계성 강화 등 개발 과정에서 실질적으로 고려해야 하는 주요 시사점 및 이를 반영한 개발 사례를 제시할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 특성화고등학교 수학 교수-학습 자료의 활용과 개발에 대한 제언을 각각 도출하였다.

A Study on the Effectiveness of a Robotics curriculum based on "Bee-Bot"

  • This study examined the effects of a robotics curriculum based on "Bee-Bot" on the scientific problem-solving ability on 5-year-old children. A robotics curriculum was also designed to enhance their scientific problem-solving ability. This study examined a 4-week robotics curriculum was conducted 12 times for 4 weeks. For this study, 14 children in kindergarten A in Korea were set up as a treatment group and 18 children in kindergarten B in Korea as a control group. It was found that children in the treatment group who engaged in the robotics curriculum using "Bee-Bot" performed better on scientific problem-solving tests. This finding indicates that an enhanced planning experience using "Bee-Bot" was beneficial for improving young children's scientific problem-solving ability. The implications for designing appropriate curricula using "Bee-Bot" robots for kindergarteners are addressed.

2015개정 초등교육과정에 나타난 다문화요소분석 (Analysis of Multicultural Elements in the 2015 Revised Elementary Curriculum)

  • The purpose of this paper was to analyze multicultural elements and propose measures to strengthen them in the 2009and the 2015 school curriculum. Based on Kim Cheong-ha (2015), the multi-cultural guidance elements and Bennett (2003:32-35) the target system and Choi Moo-sung and Kim Soon-ja (2009) were reconstructed and analyzed. Multicultural elements shown in the 2015 revised curriculum were analyzed for cultural diversity, recognition and tolerance, community awareness, and self-identity. The analysis targets analyzed multicultural elements of 'seeking human beings', 'core competences' and 'school organization and operation' during the elementary education curriculum in 2009. As a result of analyzing the multicultural elements of the former primary education process, 'cultural diversity' is 1,Recognition and tolerance'0, community spirit'3, and 'self-reliant'2 total6. In the new elementary school curriculum, 18 were analyzed as 'cultural diversity'1, 'Recognition and tolerance'1, 'community spirit'8, and 'self-identity'8. The first analysis of multi-cultural factors appearing in the new elementary school curriculum should include the addition of multicultural elements 'cultural diversity' and 'cultural diversity area' and 'education and tolerance' to the following: Second, to grow into a balanced multicultural society member, it proposes an enhanced multicultural curriculum in four areas: cultural diversity, recognition and tolerance, ccommunity spirit, and self-identity.

Implementation of a Technology-Enhanced Problem-Based Learning Curriculum: Supporting Teachers' Efforts

  • This paper describes the experiences of three middle school teachers during the year following a two-week summer workshop in which they were introduced to a technology-enhanced problem-based learning (PBL) pedagogy. Based on their collaborative experiences during the school year, developing and implementing a PBL unit, the three teachers increased their confidence in using technology and indicated shifts in their pedagogical beliefs regarding classroom instruction. Results suggest that administrative support, collaboration with other teachers, and the development of a school culture that valued the sharing of teachers' experiences were keys to teachers' successful implementation.

Exploring Secondary Earth Science Preservice Teachers' Competency in Understanding Democratic Citizenship

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate preservice teachers' understanding of democratic citizenship. This study utilized the democratic citizenship frame to assess 17 participants' comprehension of this concept. The researcher designed a method course where participants in groups analyzed science activities to identify democratic citizenship components. Through the analysis of two science activities-one on energy and the other on climate change-and the development of science panels addressing various global issues, preservice teachers' understanding of democratic citizenship was enhanced. Preservice teachers showed a good understanding of critical thinking, communication and collaboration, and STS (science, technology, and society); and the most enhanced understanding of empathy, which was the least perceived in pre-survey, component of democratic citizenship. The democratic citizenship frame proved to be a valuable tool for teaching and learning this topic, particularly when applied to socioscientific issues in the classroom. More research-based revisions of the science curriculum are necessary, and more systematic practices with reflections are essential in teacher education.

문헌정보학과의 데이터 사이언스 커리큘럼 개발 실태와 방향성 고찰 (Study on the Current Status of Data Science Curriculum in Library and Information Science and its Direction)

  • 본 연구는 69개의 iSchool에서 데이터 사이언스 관련 교과가 어떻게 제공되고 있는지를 파악하고, 국내 교과와 비교하여 방향성을 제시한다. iSchool은 건강, 기술, 바이오 분야를 비롯한 관련 분야로 그 교과 영역을 확장하는 현상이 두드러진다. 하지만, 국내 교과에서는 인접학문과 융합하려는 현상은 활발하게 관찰되지 않았다. 데이터를 어떻게 처리하고 관리할 것인지에 대한 영역 역시 iSchool이 집중하는 분야인데, 일반적인 데이터 사이언스, 데이터 관리, 데이터 보안 등에 중점을 둔 교과가 제공되고 있다. 데이터를 저장하는 방식에 대한 교과 분류는 '데이터베이스' 관련 교과의 비중이 높았으며, 비슷한 비중으로 통계와 분석법이 제공되고 있었다. iSchool의 교과를 분석하고 국내 사례와 비교해 본 결과 본 논문은 국내 문헌정보학이 데이터 사이언스 관련 교과를 확대하고, 병진 데이터 사이언스로의 역할을 강화하며, 수리적 분석 능력을 키우는 교과를 개발하되, 특성화된 교과를 발굴하여 실험적인 수업을 제공하고, 기술과 상호작용하는 지식을 제공해야 할 것을 제안한다.

초.중등학교에서 수학교육체계와 연계된 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 교육과정과 교수방법 (Computer Programming Curriculum and Teaching Method in Connection with Mathematics Education System in the Elementary and Secondary Schools)

  • 제 7차 교육과정에서 초 중등학교의 컴퓨터교육과정이 컴퓨터 활용 중심 내용으로 편성되어 컴퓨터를 이용한 다양한 분야의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 능력을 가르치는데 한계가 있다. 최근 들어 초.중등학교에서 미래 교육이 요구하는 창의적이며 논리적인 사고력과 문제해결력을 신장할 수 있도록 컴퓨터 교육 과정을 변화시키는 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 이러한 능력을 신장시키기 위해 필수적인 교과목의 내용이 컴퓨터 프로그래밍이지만 아직까지 학습자의 학습 동기와 학습 전이를 높일 수 있는 체계화된 프로그래밍 교육과정에 대한 연구가 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 초 중등학교에서 컴퓨터 교육과 밀접한 관련이 있으면서 교과 내용의 연계성을 갖추고 있는 수학교육과정 내용을 분석하여 프로그래밍 관련 요소를 추출한 후, 이를 기반으로 초 중등학교에서 연속적이고 계열적 내용에 따라 컴퓨터 프로그래밍을 체계적으로 가르칠 수 있도록 프로그래밍 교육 과정을 제시한다. 그리고 본 논문에서 제안한 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 교과과정을 이용하여 프로그래밍 기법을 가르치기 위한 수업 모형과 학습지도안을 개발한다.

  • Laboratory class is an integral part of biomedical engineering education. Current biomedical engineering curriculum in Korea mostly includes mandatory laboratory classes. Most of the Korean biomedical laboratory classes focus on electrical engineering aspects, while molecular/biological engineering aspects are neglected. Many leading universities in U.S.A. offer a more balanced laboratory class where both electrical engineering aspects and molecular/biological engineering aspects are considered. As a part of an effort to enhance undergraduate biomedical engineering education, a new biomedical engineering laboratory class is proposed to offer a more balanced laboratory learning experience.

자아정체감 형성을 돕는 교수 - 학습 과정안 개발과 수업 적용 효과 : 중학교 1학년 기술.가정교과'자아정체감의 발달'영역을 중심으로 (Research on the Application and Effectiveness of a Teaching and Learning Curriculum Fostering the Development of Self-Identity: With a Focus on the 'Self-Identity Development' Units in Technology and Home Economics Textbooks)

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the development of a teaching and learning curriculum contributing to the development of self-identity, one of the most important developmental tasks during adolescence, and its effectiveness. This research analyzed the contents concerning self-identity and its subordinate concepts in 12 different technology and home economics textbooks for 7th graders. Based on the analysis, a teaching and learning curriculum contributing to the development of adolescents’' self-identity was developed and applied to classes through discretional creative activities. The effectiveness of the curriculum was analyzed by conducting a survey on the students before and after its application. Assessments were also conducted on the lessons applied. As a result, the lessons designed to help the development of self-identity increased the scores of self-identity, as well as all subordinate concepts, including subjectivity, self-acceptance, future planning, intimacy, stability and uniqueness. An ANCOVA analysis was conducted in order to determine whether the enhanced results of the survey after the classes were due to the application of the curriculum. It was found that the classes proved helpful to the students as the application of the curriculum remained effective even after the other influencing factors affecting selfidentity were controlled.
