This paper was shown the simulation of electric field distribution of globular dielectric for design of ideal packed-bed plasma reactor. When discharge gap between the electrodes and input voltage are each 20[mm]. 10000[V] in the atmosphere, the results of simulation to the electric field was measured stronger at globular dielectric of $\phi$5[mm] than 1$\phi$[mm] and 3.33$\phi$[mm]. And the maximum electric field or globular dielectric with $\phi$10[mm] was increased about 5[%] to maximum electric field of globular dielectric with $\phi$5[mm] in the atmosphere. when dielectric constant of globular dielectric is 100, it was simulated about 90[%] of maximum electric field of globular dielectric over 1000 dielectric constant. Ana the highest electric field appeared as globular electric was parallel structure with the other globular dielectric side by side of the globular dielectric and connected to electrodes.

Corona discharges form at the surface of a transmission line conductor when the electric-field intensity on the conductor surface exceeds the breakdown strength of air. In order to decrease the electric-field intensity on the conductor surface, a new 6 conductor bundle has been studied. This bundle, hybrid conductor bundle, consists of using a larger subconductor at the bottom two conductor positions in the 6-conductor bundles of each phase of the line. The electric field on these two larger subconductors is reduced which in turn reduces the corona noise. It is shown that this is a better solution for decreasing the electric-field intensity than ether the conventional bundle or the asymmetric bundle proposed by EPRI.

The similarity, analogy and equivalence between the phenomenon due to electric and magnetic dipoles have been discussed in the open literature for different situations. Here we are presenting the numerical proof of the trajectory of leakage electric field due to a semi-infinite electric dipole layer in the external periphery and the electric field in the space between oppositely charged surfaces. The result is also valid for the fringing electric field of a parallel plate capacitor. The result is also proved to be a dual of Amp$\grave{e}$re's law in the electrostatics due to a semi-infinite electric dipole layer.

The deformation and departure processes of a bubble attached to the wall are studied experimentally and numerically to understand the phenomena of the nucleate boiling heat transfer enhancement under DC electric field. An air-bubble is injected in a dielectric liquid with different electric fields generated by changing three types of electrode system (Type 1,2 and 3) in the bubble generator. Experimental variables are the electric field strength and the distance and the shape of the electrodes under DC electric field. From experimental results, it is observed that the bubble under Dc electric field is elongated in the same direction as the electric field and the contact angle increases. For the parallel plate electrode which generates a uniform electric field, bubble departure volume doesn't seem to decrease within our experimental range. However, when a needle is raised a few millimeters from the lower electrode to make a nonuniform electric field around the needle, bubble departure volume decreases continuously with the increase of an applied voltage. The reduction effect of bubble departure volume is the most effective under a strong nonuniform electric field generated with Type 3. As the nonuniformity of the electric field due to the shape of a electrode increases, the terminal velocity and the acceleration of a bubble increase largely. For the comparison with visualization results, the deformation of a bubble attached to the electrode is carried out by a numerical method. Numerical results show good agreement qualitatively with experimental results.

This paper attempts to develop an algorithm which optimizes the electric field through the so-called NURB(Non-Uniform Rational B-spline) curve in order to improve the insulation capacity. In particular, the NURB curve is a kind of interpolation curve that can be expressed by a few variables. The electric field of a conductor is computed by Charge Simulation Method(CSM) while that of a spacer by Surface Charge Method(SCM); this mixed calculation method is adopted for the electric field optimization. For calculation of the initial and optimal shapes, the Gauss-Newton method, which is quite easy to formulate and has slightly faster convergence rate than other optimization techniques, was used. The tangential electric field, the total electric field, and the product of the tangential electric field and area (Area Effect) were chosen as the optimization objective function by the average value of electric field for the determined initial shape.

This paper explained electric field distribution's characteristics of dielectric pellets with a shape of ball to voltage. When discharge gap of electrode and input voltage are each 20[mm], 10000[V], the electric field simulation results of dielectric pellets with a shape of ball with relative dielectric constant of several kind measured stronger electric field near electric pellets with a shape of ball of ${\phi}5$[mm] than $1{\phi}$[mm] and $3.33{\phi}$[mm] at atmosphere. And the maximum electric field of dielectric pellets with a shape of ball over ${\phi}5$[mm] increased about 5[%] to maximum electric field of electric pellets with a shape of ball ${\phi}5$[mm]. And the result of simulation, when relative dielectric constant of dielectric pellets with a shape of ball is 100, it measured about 90[%] of maximum electric field of dielectric pellets with a shape of ball with relative dielectric constant over 1000.

The 'field-effect' underlies the operation of most conventional electronic devices. However, effective control and implementation of the field-effect in semiconductor devices are limited due to screening of the electric-field by conducting electrodes. Thus far, the electronic devices have necessarily been designed to avoid or minimize the electric-field screening effect. As an alternative approach to this, a new type of conducting electrodes which would be transparent to both visible light and electric-field while being electrically conductive have been developed. Here, we define these electrodes as 'electric-field transparent electrodes' and provide a review on related work. Particular attention is paid to the material selection and design strategies to enhance the electric-field transparency of the electrodes while maintaining good electrical conductivity and optical transparency. We then introduce potential applications of the electric-field transparent electrodes in electronic and optoelectronic devices.

Domain switching effect on crack growth in ferroelectric ceramics under combined electric and mechanical loading is investigated. The shape and size of the switching zone is shown to depend strongly on the relative magnitude between the applied electric field and stress field as well as on the ratio of the coercive electric field to the yield electric field. The toughening mechanism is thought to be ferroelectric domain switching leading to the development of a process zone around the crack. Crack-tip stress intensity factor induced by domain switching for the steady state crack growth is numerically obtained.

The asymptotic problem of a semi-infinite conducting crack parallel to the poling direction in ferroelectric ceramics subjected to electric fields is analyzed. The main mechanism for the conducting crack growth behavior is thought to be ferroelectric domain switching leading to the development of a process zone around the crack. The shape and size of the switching zone is shown to depend strongly on the relative magnitude on the ratio of the coercive electric field to the yield electric field. It is shown that the crack growth can be either enhanced or retarded depending on the ratio of the coercive electric field to yield electric field.
Streaming electrification on insulating paper and pressboard under D.C. and A.C. electric field was investigated by using paper tubes and oil circulation apparatus. At first, flowing of static charges as measured with no electric field. As the temperature of oil increased, the measured current curve hows peak. As the velocity increased, it shows increasing exponential curve. Then, we applied A.C. and D.C. electric field on paper tube and the current from relaxation tank to earth was measured, which other factors such as temperature and velocity were varied like case of no electric field. The ions in oil carry the charges. So electric field makes asymmetry effect, and electrophoretic effect on ions in oil. We find that as the electric field intensity increased, the charges which were made by electric double layer were increased. The charge vs. velocity curve made peak point at a velocity.
