  • On a closed eta-Einstein Sasakian spin manifold of dimension $2m+1{\geq}5$, $m{\equiv}0$ mod 2, we prove a new eigenvalue estimate for the Dirac operator. In dimension 5, the estimate is valid without the eta-Einstein condition. Moreover, we show that the limiting case of the estimate is attained if and only if there exists such a pair (${\varphi}_{{\frac{m}{2}}-1}$, ${\varphi}_{\frac{m}{2}}$) of spinor fields (called Sasakian duo, see Definition 2.1) that solves a special system of two differential equations.

  • Using the results in the paper [12], we give an estimate for the first positive and negative Dirac eigenvalue on a 7-dimensional Sasakian spin manifold. The limiting case of this estimate can be attained if the manifold under consideration admits a Sasakian Killing spinor. By imposing the eta-Einstein condition on Sasakian manifolds of higher dimensions 2m + 1 ≥ 9, we derive some new Dirac eigenvalue inequalities that improve the recent results in [12, 13].

  • We will estimate the lower bound of the first nonzero Neumann and Dirichlet eigenvalue of Laplacian equation on compact Riemannian manifold M with boundary. In case that the boundary of M has positive second fundamental form elements, Ly-Yau[3] gave the lower bound of the first nonzero neumann eigenvalue $\eta_1$. In case that the second fundamental form elements of $\partial$M is bounded below by negative constant, Roger Chen[4] investigated the lower bound of $\eta_1$. In [1], [2], we obtained the lower bound of the first nonzero Neumann eigenvalue is estimated under the condtion that the second fundamental form elements of boundary is bounded below by zero. Moreover, I realize that "the interior rolling $\varepsilon$ - ball condition" is not necessary when the first Dirichlet eigenvalue was estimated in [1].ed in [1].

  • We proved in [10] that Friedrich's estimate [5] for the first eigenvalue of the Dirac operator can be improved when a Codazzi tensor exists. In the paper we further prove that his estimate can be improved as well via a well-chosen divergencefree symmetric tensor. We study the geometric implication of the new first eigenvalue estimates over Sasakian spin manifolds and show that some particular types of spinors appear as the limiting case.

  • We study the Dirac spectrum on compact Riemannian spin manifolds M equipped with a metric connection ${\nabla}$ with skew torsion $T{\in}{\Lambda}^3M$ in the situation where the tangent bundle splits under the holonomy of ${\nabla}$ and the torsion of ${\nabla}$ is of 'split' type. We prove an optimal lower bound for the first eigenvalue of the Dirac operator with torsion that generalizes Friedrich's classical Riemannian estimate.

  • This paper presents a novel approach based on eigenvalue perturbation of augmented matrix(AMEP) to estimate the eigenvalue for variation of controller parameter. AMEP is a useful tool in the analysis and design of large scale power systems containing many different types of exciters, governors and stabilizers. Also, it can be used to find possible sources of instability and to determine the most sensitivity parameters for low frequency oscillation modes. This paper describes the application results of AMEP algorithm with respect to all controller parameter of KEPCO systems. Simulation results for interarea and local mode show that the proposed AMEP algorithm can be used for turning controller parameter, and verifying system data and linear model.

  • Let M be an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold with boundary .part.M. We consider the Neumann eigenvalue problem on M of the equation (Fig.) where .upsilon. is the unit outward normal vector to the boundary .part.M. due to the importance of Poincare inequality for analysis on manifolds, one wishes to obtain the lower bound of the first non-zero eigenvalue .eta.$_{1}$ of (1.1). For the purpose of applications, it is important to relax the dependency of the lower bound on the geometric quantities. For general compact manifolds with convex boundary, Li-Yau [3] obtained the lower bound of .eta.$_{1}$. Recently, Roger Chen [1] investigated the lower bound of the first Neumann eigenvalue .eta.$_{1}$ on compact manifold M with nonconvex boundary. We investigate the lower bound .eta.$_{1}$ with the same conditions as those of Roger chen. But, using the different auxiliary function, we have the following theorem.
