Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among self-efficacy, collective efficacy, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment of nurses working in general hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from 239 nurses working in five general hospitals of a local area by self-reported questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchial multiple regression. Results: Self-efficacy, collective efficacy, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment showed significantly positive correlations. Hierarchial multiple regression analysis showed that self-efficacy was the main factor of affecting job satisfaction, which explained 14.3% of the variance for the nurses' job satisfaction together with collective efficacy and weekly working time. In addition, the primary factor of affecting organization commitment was self-efficacy, which accounted for 17.2% of the variance for the nurses' organizational commitment together with hospital size and shift work. Conclusion: Self-efficacy and nursing working condition such as working time or hospital size contributed to the job satisfaction and organizational commitment and collective efficacy contributed to the job satisfaction. Therefore, the strategies for improving self and collective efficacy should be considered. Further study is also needed to investigate the concept of collective efficacy and its' measurement, and the relationship between collective efficacy and organizational commitment.

This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership (TL), procedural justice (PJ), and training (T) on employee performance (EP) mediated by self-efficacy (SE). The object of this research is Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) M.Th. Djaman, a hospital in Sanggau Regency, while the subjects are the institution's staff. Data collection search uses purposive sampling with a total of 120 samples. Data are obtained through questionnaires distributed directly to respondents using the Google Form application. Data analysis techniques used in this study include standard error of mean (SEM) with AMOS software version 24.00. Methods use to test validity and reliability of data include Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Construct Reliability (CR) and VE. The results of the analysis show that only training has a significant effect on self-efficacy, and self-efficacy has a significant effect on employee performance. Also, self-efficacy is proven to mediate the role of training on employee performance; the other hypotheses are not significant. Training is the most prominent positive factor affecting self-efficacy and self-efficacy has a significant effect on employee performance at RSUD M.Th. Djaman. The results of this study can be used as a reference by management in determining what policy priorities should take precedence.

Self-efficacy has been extensively evaluated, but no studies have investigated the effect of self-efficacy on the self-reliance of women in poor-households economic productivity. This study analyzes self-efficacy as a personal factor, learning processes, and social support as an environmental factor towards the achievement of self-reliance in women from poor-households in productive economy businesses. Despite the dominant logic of this scheme, there is a need for field-based data regarding whether the variable really supports the sustainable empowerment of poor-households women. This study used the quantitative method through the survey technique. The samples of this study included 250 people collected from five regencies in Indonesia by using a multiple-stage random sampling. The data were analyzed with structural equation modeling. The results show that social support has a significant positive impact on the learning process; social support has a direct negative impact on self-efficacy. The learning process has a direct positive influence on self-efficacy, while social support has a non-significant impact on self-reliance. The learning process has a direct influence on self-reliance. Social support and the learning process both have significant positive impact on self-efficacy. Social support, learning process, and self-efficacy simultaneously have a positive impact on self-reliance in productive economic activities.
Purpose: This purpose of this study was to develop and validate a Self-Efficacy Scale for Self-Management of Breast Cancer (SESSM-B). Methods: The SESSM-B was developed and validated as follows: Item generation, pilot study, and tests of validity and reliability. Twenty-one items were developed through evaluation by 10 experts and 13 items were finally confirmed through item analysis and factor analysis. Psychometric testing was performed with a convenience sample of 303 women with breast cancer. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficients, and Cronbach's alpha. Results: Five factors evolved from the factor analysis, which explained 69.8% of the total variance. The first factor 'coping with psycho-informational demand' explained 17.2%, 2nd factor 'maintenance of healthy lifestyle' 14.5%. 3rd factor 'management of side-effects' 13.3%, 4th factor 'therapeutic compliance' 12.8%, and 5th factor 'sexual life' 11.9%. SESSM-B also demonstrated a concurrent validity with health-related quality of life scale, EORTC QLQ-C30 & BR23. The internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha, was .78, and reliability of the subscales ranged from .61 to .79. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the SESSM-B is an easy, reliable, and valid instrument to measure self-efficacy for self-management of breast cancer.

Self-efficacy and social supports are important variable influencing adjustment to college life. This study aims to identify the factors influencing adjustment to college life. Data were collected from 265 usable questionnaires among college students in Pyeongtek University. Results of a factor analysis yielded three dimensions of self-efficacy which were ability to start promotion/ social ability/ ability to carry out activities/ability to overcome hate experiences/ social sustainability. And results of factor analysis also yielded three dimensions of social supports which were family, friends, and professor supports. Hierarchical regression analysis revealed that social ability/ ability to carry out activities/ability to overcome hate experiences and all of social support factors affected significantly for adjustment to college life. And female and attitude for students' major had a positive affect on adjustment to college life. Results suggested that self-efficacy, social supports, and aptitude for students' major should be considered in college management policy.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the factor-related oral care self-efficacy among the type 2 diabetic patients. Methods : Questionnaire was conducted with 174 Type 2 diabetic patients from 9th January to 9th March in 2012. The following conclusion was obtained as a result of carrying out t-test and one-way ANOVA analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. Results : 1. Analysis of the level of each item concerning oral care self-efficacy showed tooth brushing self-efficacy was $13.3{\pm}2.9$, the highest of all. 2. The factor that was most highly related with oral care self-efficacy was oral health behaviors(${\beta}=0.474$). The other factors were found to be expected duration of diabetes(${\beta}=-0.205$), self-assessed physical health(${\beta}=0.177$) and oral health(${\beta}=0.111$) in such order (p<0.05). Conclusions : Diabetes causes a variety of complications in the mouth, and therefore it is very important to practice oral care activity in order to oral health promotion. This study showed oral care self-efficacy appeared to be the greatest factor of relevance in practicing oral care activity. So, dental hygienist is obliged to keep on motivating so that the patient may maintain the oral care activity for him/herself. Also, a study on various intervention methods to improve oral care self-efficacy should be continued.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of teacher efficacy and collectivistic self-esteem on alleviation of teacher burnout. In order to achieve these research purpose, data were collected from 161 elementary and secondary school teachers using teacher efficacy scale, collectivistic self-esteem scale and psychological burnout scale. Collected data were analyzed using correlation analysis and hierarchical multiple regression. The major results of statistical analyses were as follows: First, generally background variables were significantly associated with burnout and therefore, background variables were controlled in the analysis of teacher efficacy and collectivistic self-esteem. Second, teacher efficacy influenced on the total burnout(38%) and sub-factors which were emotional exhaustion(27.3%), depersonalization(20.7%) and diminished personal accomplishment(36.1%), and collectivistic self-esteem influenced on the total burnout(38.8%) and sub-factors which were emotional exhaustion(27.1%), depersonalization(29.6%) and diminished personal accomplishment(25.1%). Third, the analysis of additional influence of collectivistic self-esteem in addition to the influence of teacher efficacy on teacher burnout revealed additional influence in the alleviation of total burnout(18.2%), emotional exhaustion(13.9%), depersonalization(16.6%) and diminished personal accomplishment(10.3%). These results showed that teacher's collectivistic self-esteem is an important factor in the alleviation of psychological burnout with teacher efficacy which was well known as a protective factor for psychological burnout. Based upon the above results, implications of these results and limitations of this study were discussed.
Purpose : This study compared before and after emergency patient evaluation education of the 1st graders at the department emergency medical technology(EMT) students, and analyzed its effects on patient evaluation ability after education. The aims of this study was to develop effective educational program and to provide basic materials for its educational method. Methods : This study was carried out by 66 first graders attending the department of emergency medical technology(EMT) at a college in G province and data were collected from Apr. 1 to 2, 2009. The questionnaire consisted of knowledge of emergent patient evaluation, academic self-efficacy, and technical performance after emergent patient evaluation education. We analyzed the influence of knowledge and academic self-efficacy on accurate technical performance with SPSS 14.0 version. Results : 1. In knowledge score, it was 9.27 before education and increased to 35.19 after education and that there was statistically significant difference. In academic self-efficacy, task difficulty preference scored 2.73 before education and 3.97 after education, self-control efficacy scored 2.84 before education and 4.05 after education, self-confidence scored 2.45 before education and 4.21 after education. There were statistically significant increases after education. Technical performance scored 0.00 before education, but it scored 18.78 after education and there was statistically significant increase after education. 2. In sex as one of general characteristics, self-confidence which was sub-factor of academic self-efficacy scored higher in male students(4.28) than in female students(4.10). There was statistically significant difference(p < 0.05). 3. Knowledge had positive correlation with self-control efficacy which was the sub-factor of academic self-efficacy(r = 0.249, p < 0.05) and self-confidence which is the sub-factor of academic self-efficacy had the positive correlation with technical performance(r = 0.258, p < 0.05). 4. Self-confidence which was the sub-factor of academic self-efficacy(B = 0.372, p < 0.05) had statistically significant influence on technical performance. ability of self-confidence to explain technical performance(R2) was 11.10%. Conclusion : From the results of this study, it is necessary that EMT students should learn professional first aid, accurate patient evaluation through self-efficacy development.

The purpose of this study is for investing and analysing preservice elementary mathematics teachers' efficacy on teaching mathematics. It was measured by Kang & Kim(2014)'s instrument; MTEI (Mathematics Teaching Efficacy Instrument). The survey was conducted on a sample of 164 participants who are the 2 or 4 grade in 3 universities of education. The findings of this study are that mathematics teaching efficacy of preservice elementary mathematics teachers in South Korea is 61 percent based on 100 percent. There was no significant difference between women teachers and men teachers, department of natural science and art & humanity when highschool, 2 grade and 4 grade. But, there was the significant difference between big city and province. The social-cultural factor point was much lower than any other factors' point.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate psychometric properties of the instrument, Resuscitation Self-Efficacy Scale for nurses. Methods: This was a methodological study for instrument development and psychometric testing. The initial item pool derived from literature review and experts resulted in 30 items linked to resuscitation self-efficacy. A convenience sample of 509 Korean nurses from eleven academic teaching hospitals participated in a survey to examine psychometric properties of the scale. To examine construct validity, exploratory factor analysis and known-group comparison were used. Cronbach's coefficient alpha was used to determine the scale's internal consistency reliability. Results: The final scale included 17 items with four-component structure termed 'Recognition', 'Debriefing and recording', 'Responding and rescuing', and 'Reporting'. These four factors accounted for 57.5% of the variance. Each subscale and the total scale demonstrated satisfactory internal consistency: .82; .88; .87; .83; and .91 respectively. Experienced nurses reported significantly higher self-efficacy mean scores in both total and subscales compared to new graduate nurses. Conclusion: The Resuscitation Self-Efficacy Scale for nurses yields reliable and valid results in appraising the level of resuscitation self-efficacy for Korean nurses. Further study is needed to test and refine the scale.
