Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a model for handoff education for nursing students based on simulation using video and to identify educational effects of a simulated situation in pediatric care units. Methods: Data were collected from May 1 to 30, 2016. Participants were 84 senior nursing students in Seoul (video group: 43, simulation group: 41). Both groups were given a lecture and pre-briefing on handoff education. The simulation group had nursing practice on resolving health issues for respiratory distress using a high-fidelity baby simulator. The video group watched a video recording of a scenario based simulation, and used a summarized handoff situation to practice patient handoff to another student. Results: There was no significant difference between the two groups for handoff self-confidence, problem solving ability, handoff competence (self-assessment of students), or learning satisfaction. Self-confidence increased significantly in both groups. Handoff competency evaluated by the instructor was higher in the video group compared to the simulation group (t=2.33, p=.022). Conclusion: Nursing student education for handoff practice utilizing a video in the pediatric unit was more cost effective. Therefore, it could be a useful educational method for students in learning patient handoff practices and helpful for related research.

The aim of this study to provide basic reference data for the development of video contents used in pattern drafting education and to explore the possibility of utilizing YouTube videos in such education. Subject videos were selected using the number of views. A total of 596 videos and 28 channels were analyzed for the period July to September 2019 and the results are as follows. With regard to content, there were 27 pattern drafting items, the majority being dress, pants, skirt, blouse and sleeve drafting, although high-level content such as cowl, bustier, corset patterns were also available. Therefore, there is a high likelihood that YouTube videos could be used as educational material, especially as supplementary references to provide specific examples and easy explanations for difficult concepts or method, for students majoring in this field. However, as most videos currently focus on a few items, expanding video content to features a wider variety of clothing items at different levels is necessary. With regard to video length, it mostly ranged from 10 to 15 minutes. It is not advisable to create lengthy lecture-style videos expounding on different principles or variations in pattern drafting when developing educational video material.

This study examined the educational effects by song video self study of CPR and CPR VSI with middle school students who have no CPR education experience and aimed to provide basic materials for effective CPR education method with middle school students. The subjects of the research were total 68 middle school students of S middle school in G metropolitan city and they were selected by convenience sampling into 33 experimental group and 35 control group. The period of examination was from Apr. 22 to 23, 2009 and the data were collected for two days. As a result of the research, song video self learning of CPR with middle school students was not considered as achieving better results than video self learning. But, as its educational effects were confirmed, it will be available in education of CPR with middle school students.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of an educational video program on bowel preparation for a colonoscopy. Methods: The study used a non-equivalent control group and non-synchronized design as a quasi-experimental research involving 101 participants undergoing bowel preparation for a colonoscopy (experimental group 51, control group 50 subjects) at W. university hospital, from Aug. 7 to Oct. 31, 2013. The control group received verbal education with an explanatory note while the experimental group received education using a video program. To measure knowledge of diet restrictions and compliance with ingesting bowel preparation solutions, a questionnaire, based on The Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's Guide (2003), developed by Sam-Sook You, was used after revisions and supplementation was done. To measure bowel cleanness, the 'Aronchick Bowel Preparation Scale' was adopted. Data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results: A higher proportion of the experimental group showed a positive change in knowledge level on diet restrictions (U=1011.50, p =.035) and ingestion of bowel preparation solutions (U=980.50, p =.019), a higher level of compliance with diet restrictions (U=638.50, p <.001), ingesting bowel preparation solutions (U=668.00, p <.001) and the level of bowel cleanness (${\chi}^2$=17.00, p <.001) than the control group. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that a video educational program for patients having a colonoscopy can improve knowledge, level of compliance with diet restrictions, ingestion of bowel preparation solutions, and bowel cleanness. Therefore video educational program should be used with this patient group.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of smart phone video educational program on disease-related knowledge and anxiety in patients with coronary artery disease. A quasi-experimental study used a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design. A smart phone video educational program was developed and offered to the experimental group. Participants were drawn from a inpatient ward. Twenty eight were selected for the experimental group while 30 were assigned to a control group. The results of this study were as followed: Disease-related knowledge in the experimental group showed a significant increase after smart phone video education compared with the control group. But the score of anxiety did not show a significant difference between experimental and control group. Thus, it is necessary to develop interventions considering both educational and psychological factors at the same time for the patients with coronary artery disease.

As of 2020, about 500 hours of videos are uploaded to YouTube, a representative online video platform, per minute. As the number of users acquiring information through various uploaded videos is increasing, online video platforms are making efforts to provide better recommendation services. The currently used recommendation service recommends videos to users based on the user's viewing history, which is not a good way to recommend videos that deal with specific purposes and interests, such as educational videos. The recent recommendation system utilizes not only the user's viewing history but also the content features of the item. In this paper, we extract the content features of educational video for educational video recommendation based on YouTube, design a recommendation system using it, and implement it as a web application. By examining the satisfaction of users, recommendataion performance and convenience performance are shown as 85.36% and 87.80%.

Previously, there were no studies that were not aware of the importance of video, were interested in the educational value of Flipped Learning, and there were many wrong experiments because they did not understand Flipped Learning. Therefore, an accurate understanding of Flipped Learning is needed. This study proposed the caution of video learning of Flipped Learning and presented the papers and grounds to support to examine the educational value of Flipped Learning. A video of the lecture should be produced with a core content of 10 to 15 minutes, and found that the educational value of Flipped Learning lies in self-directed learning, cooperative learning, habruta, overcoming the oblivion curve and metacognition. It is hoped that this study will provide good guidance and direction of education for teachers who have difficulty Flipped Learning.

This study was carried out to analyze video usage in early childhood programs. Two-hundred-ninety-four teachers in half-day and all-day early childhood programs responded to a questionnaire developed by a researcher. Descriptive analysis and chi-square tests were used to answer research questions. The findings were as follows: ① 78% of the programs had at least one video equipment and half of the programs had a video equipment in each classroom. ② Video usage in early childhood programs were differed by leacher’s age, career level, educational level, and type of early childhood programs as well as type of class management.

The rapid growth of instructional videos repositories and their widespread use as a tool to support education have raised the need of studies to assess the quality of those educational resources and their impact on the quality of learning process that depends on them. Khan Academy (KA) repository is one of the prominent educational videos' repositories. It is famous and widely used by different types of learners, students and teachers. To better understand its characteristics and the impact of such repositories on education, we gathered a huge amount of KA data using its API and different web scraping techniques, then we analyzed them. This paper reports the first quantitative and descriptive analysis of Khan Academy repository (KA repository) of open video lessons. First, we described the structure of repository. Then, we demonstrated some analyses highlighting content-based growth and evolution. Those descriptive analyses spotted the main important findings in KA repository. Finally, we focused on users' interactions with video lessons. Those interactions consisted of questions and answers posted on videos. We developed interaction profiles for those videos based on the number of users' interactions. We conducted regression analysis and statistical tests to mine the relation between those profiles and some quality related proposed metrics. The results of analysis showed that all interaction profiles are highly affected by video length and reuse rate in different subjects. We believe that our study demonstrated in this paper provides valuable information in understanding the logic and the learning mechanism inside learning repositories, which can have major impacts on the education field in general, and particularly on the informal learning process and the instructional design process. This study can be considered as one of the first quantitative studies to shed the light on Khan Academy as an open educational resources (OER) repository. The results presented in this paper are crucial in understanding KA videos repository, its characteristics and its impact on education.

There are various educational aids which we can use in classroom. In classes, video presenters have been used for presenting full-text book to screen. In this study, we developed an educational solution to support real-time video capture of contents of text-book using video presenter. If teachers use this solution, they can teach using real-time captured video of text-book in anytime, anywhere.
