This study focused on how to activate the fisheries high school and develop fisheries. This data was collected from 108 vocational high school teachers and 94 middle school teachers. The treatment of materials is classified by gender, level of academic career and teaching career. This research evaluated percentage to the frequency of reponses to each question and carried out ${\chi}^2$-test and t-test, for the benefit of reliability. This statistically significant level which was conducted by using SPSS10.0 in accounted for p<.05. The conclusions of this study were as follows: The middle school teachers and vocational high school teachers showed positive response when general contents were included in question items, the other hand showed negative response when definite and special contents were included in question items. The vocational high school teachers showed lower answer score in the fisheries consciousness then middle school teachers in spite of vocational educational function. Different degrees of fisheries consciousness of two groups were resulted from research areas.

In information society, enhancing information literacy is a common goal of the academic and school libraries. Consequently the academic libraries connect with the school libraries through information literacy In this study, a academic library visiting program is presented and proposed as a policy to link the academic and school libraries. This program may be a alternative to activate school library-based teaming and overcome lacks of resources and teacher librarians, in the academic libraries. it may be a policy to improve lacks of materials and carrels and overcome the problem of service increase in the opening academic library for local communities. And it will contributes to the educational role or the librarian.

Because the effort to solve space shortage in academic libraries has never been successful, the rapid development of digital technology is being considered as a panacea to revolutionize analog libraries and to open a new era for digital libraries. However, this technology is yet to be perfected. Even with the use of digital technology, we are currently still looking for more space to accommodate newly printed materials and at the same time store valuable resources that are seldomly used. In 1985, Harvard adopted the industrial high-density shelving system into their library. No other retrieving system has proven to be more successful as the Harvard model. Presently, more than 50 colleges have built over 70 high-density library storage facilities. Rice University Library Service Center (RLSC) can be examined as an example of the Harvard-model. This paper will focus on assessing the operating system and architectural requirements of the RLSC which may allow for a more efficient, economical, and fundamental resolution to the library space shortage problem.

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the pedagogical content knowledge of a middle school mathematics teacher manifested in his mathematics instruction by identifying the components of the pedagogical content knowledge of the teacher. For the purpose of the study, I conducted an interpretive case study by collecting qualitative data. The results showed that the pedagogical content knowledge of the teacher was characterized by: (a) knowledge of mathematics including connection among topics and various ways of solving problems; (b) knowledge of students' understanding involving students' misconceptions, common errors, difficulties, and confusions; and (c) knowledge of pedagogy consisting of his efforts to motivate his students by providing realistic applications of mathematical topics and his use of materials.

The school library in Korea, with its short history, has not been fully awared of its importance yet. As a result, most of school libraries in Korea have not been fundtioning as the center of educational activity which is closely connected with learning process and as the place of the extension of classroom, but as the place of storing books. Besides the importance of materials and facilities, the educational function of school libraries can be fully achieved only when each school librarian clearly understands his work and duties, and accomplishes them successfully. This study, which are based on analysis of literature investigations and precedent studies, are summarized as follow: 1. There is an absolute lack of the number of school librarians (or alternative teachers) in comparison to the number which is specified in the regulations of Library Law. 2. There is no a n.0, ppropriate legal foundation for employment of school librarians and library assistants, and of their o n.0, pportunities for promotion. 3. The school library in korea has been stayed so far on its infantile, namely 'the period of material arrangement', in the aspect of the function. 4. The administrative organization of the school library has not gained much recognition of its professional character. And even more the position of the school library today is not enough clear to be stable in the total school system. By solving these factors step, the newly reformed school library in Korea will play a great role in improving her education by the hand of school librarians whose spirits are re-filled with willingness and creativity.

This study examined teacher perception of the instructional method. activities and material in terms of class quality enhancement. Also this study established instructional method. activities and material application Per 7th Practical Arts Education Course guidance domain. and type identification of the instructional method and activities unique to the Practical arts curriculum. Conclusions : 1. Teachers consider the instructional method and material beneficial. However in the item relevant to application of diverse instructional methods Per specific teaching objective and educational content in the actual classroom. the highest percentage responding. ‘relatively yes’ (39.7%) . balanced out with those answering. ‘no’(37.7%) 2. In linking the instructional method and material to secondary school home economics education, teachers experienced difficulty in teaching only the clothing education domain . 3. In each guidance domain, lecture method, problem-solving learning. cooperative learning. home project learning and functional learning were surveyed for instructional method suitability. Notably, home project learning was identified as a significant instructional method. This result begs in-dept analysis as home project learning may be utilized as a tool to compensate for the absence of practical educational objective condition fulfillment and to substitute for teachers unable to Provide such functional guidance in class. 4. In each guidance domain. role-playing. debate/discussion. case study research, practical exercise and activity reporting were rated as essential teaching ㆍ learning activities. 5. In each guidance domain.‘VCR’, ‘CD-ROM’ and ‘Web media’ were identified as suitable instructional materials .

GMDSS(Global Maritime Distress and Safety system) is a new communication system for the distress and safety at sea which is utilizing the recent advancements in satellite communication and positioning system, digital communication system, computer and microelectronic technology, etc., and will completely substitute the current communication system by 1999. Although the improvements of education for producing qualified Radio Operators as well as the establi-shments of policy for accepting the system are required, the educational institutions and relating administ-rations have not yet prepared the rational and concrete schemes on the educational methods and accepting procedures for the system. In this study, as the result of analyzing the GMDSS, courses of training and relating data, the authors suggested principles for improving the course and contents of education and rational schemes for balan-cing the demand and supply of Radio Operators. The authors expect not only the consequences of this study can be utilized as reference materials for the instruction to ratio communication in the organs of education but also that the following effects can be obtained by the study. 1. Security of distress and safety communication system at sea by the establishment of relating regula-tions. 2. Rationalization of the management of radio communication at sea and improvement of the communi-cation system on the vessel. 3. Upgrading the quality of Radio Operators and presenting schemes for current qualified persons. 4. Activation of industry producing radio instruments. 5. Balance of the demand and supply of Radio Operators and development of shipping industry.

This paper presents a model of e-learning based on ubiquitous computing configuration. First of all, we survey the advanced e-learning systems for foreign and domestic universities. Next we propose the optimal e-learning model based on ubiquitous computing configuration. The proposed e-learning model as following. we propose the e-learning system's hardware and software configurations, that are server and networking systems. Also, we construct the proposed e-learning systems's services. There are attendance and absence service, class management service, common knowledge service, score processing service, facilities management service, personal management service, personal authorization issue management service, campus guide service, lecture-hall management service. Then we propose the laboratory equipment management service, experimental materials management service etc. The proposed model of e-learning based on ubiquitous computing configuration will be able to contribute to the next generation university educational paradigm.

The purpose of this study is to establish a knowledge based system for education of CNC machining. The program is made based on various educational courses, teaching methodology and teaching medium etc. and has a good accessibility which can be used anywhere if computer is available. For the system, various variables according to materials, tools or shapes for machining are reviewed and analyzed. Also, the intelligent educational program is developed using Visual Basic language. It can be used to help trainees who want to refer cutting conditions for actual cutting process and also can be useful for beginner who wants to learn and to practice for CNC machining.

Recently, the interest in Accreditation of Engineering Education, which aims at facilitating the development of engineering education and producing the high calibre of graduates in engineering schools, is increasing. The accreditation requires the students to prepare a portfolio which shows the educational achievements from all courses at the university. In the portfolio, educational activities and outputs of the student are included as a part of the achievements. Particularly, in the portfolio of design-related courses, outputs of the design the student has made until the graduation are accumulated. The outputs enable others to measure the design capability of the student and can be used as important reference materials when applying for employment or graduate school. In this paper, I propose a format of the portfolio for practical exercise courses, engineering design, and undergraduate design and explain the ways of the utilization of the portfolio.
