This paper is concerned with the numerical solutions to steady state nonlinear elliptical partial differential equations (PDE) of the form $u_{xx}+u_{yy}+Du_{x}+Eu_{y}+Fu=G$, where D, E, F are functions of x, y, u, $u_{x}$, and $u_{y}$, and G is a function of x and y. Dirichlet boundary conditions in a rectangular region are considered. We propose alternating direction shooting method for solving such nonlinear PDE. Numerical results show that the alternating direction shooting method performed better than the commonly used linearized iterative method.

This paper summarizes the concept of medical professionalism and presents its direction. Toward this end, the authors compare the characteristics of a professional with those of a craftsman and a technician. The authors describe the construct of medical professionalism on the assumption that knowledge and technical competence are necessary but not sufficient conditions for the professional. The construct of medical professionalism could be defined variously, depending on the time, place, or collectivity. The authors furthermore summarize cases for the development process of medical professionalism and then compare Korean medical professionalism with that of the West. Finally, the authors present the development direction of medical professionalism in Korea.

In this paper we construct orthogonal two-direction scaling function of order 3 and corresponding wavelet function. In this paper we propose a different approach using orthogonal symmetric/antisymmetric multiwavelets of order 3. An example for constructing orthogonal two-direction scaling function of order 3 and corresponding wavelet function is given.

This paper aims to find out the current state of early English education in the world(including Korea) and to suggest its more desirable direction, with special reference to TEFL in elementary schools of Korea. In fact English teaching in elementary schools of Korea has been put into practice as an extracurricular activity since 1982. But in 1995 the Ministry of Education proclaimed a policy to establish a TEFL program as the regular course in elementary schools of Korea since 1997. In this connection, the writer surveyed several kinds of theories about early English education to verify the necessity and validity of Korea's elementary school English education. The logical result from these theories is that younger children are better equipped to learn foreign languages with efficiency than older children or adults. However, as most studies are based on logical inferences rather than on direct observation or experimental evidence, we are not sure that those theories are right. In this view, the writer put stress on the preparation of educational environments to establish a more desirable direction of early English education in Korea, since Korea's elementary school English education will be practiced under EFL environment, not ESL environment. The writer also pointed out some problems of educational finances, the curriculum development process and its content, teaching materials(textbooks and tapes), English teachers, teaching methods, evaluation, educational facilities. This paper concludes that we have to try to solve these problems to succeed in a TEFL program in elementary schools of Korea and suggests several things for a more desirable direction of Korea's elementary school English education.

최근 머신러닝, 빅데이터, 머신러닝 등의 기술 발전을 기반으로 인공지능(AI) 기술이 고도화되면서 다양한 분야에서 적극적으로 활용되고 있고, 미래 산업의 핵심으로 떠오르고 있다. 이에 우리나라에서는 AI 국가전략을 발표하는 등 미래 AI 기술 발전과 환경 구축의 발판을 마련하고 있으며, 교육 분야에서도 AI 인재 양성을 위한 각종 정책을 개발하고 있다. 그런데 AI의 중요성이나 필요성에 대해서는 많은 사람들이 동의하고 있으면서도, 구체적인 필요성에 대한 공감대 형성은 부족하다고 할 수 있다. 관련 연구를 살펴보면 AI교육의 내용이나 방법론 등의 방향에서 많은 차이를 보이고 있는데, 이는 필요성에 대한 인식이 방향을 설정하는 전제 조건이 되고, 이에 따라 교육 내용과 방법이 결정되기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전문가와 학교 현장의 AI교육 필요성에 대한 인식 차이를 분석해보고 이를 토대로 모두가 공감할 수 있는 AI교육의 필요성에 대한 인식을 분석함으로써 향후 AI교육의 방향을 탐색하고자 한다.

This study examined the direction that desirable educational direction of science and engineering graduate schools. In order to achieve the purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with faculty, staffs and students of 'A' science and engineering research-oriented university. As a result of the study, first, independent researchers with international competitiveness, second, intellectuals who fulfill social responsibilities, convergent leaders across various boundaries of knowledge, and fourth, passionate people with a sense of challenge. Conclusions were made on enhancing the competitiveness of higher education and innovating graduate education in South Korea based on research findings.

In order to establish a digital-based use environment for the provision of new information services suitable for the 5G era, it is necessary to discuss the direction of service provision by the National Library of Children and Young Adults in the 5G era. Based on utilization services in other fields, library services in the 5G era, including the development and provision of employee education and training services, ultra-high-definition and 360-degree realistic contents and education on library use, provision of multi-dimensional realistic media streaming broadcasting services, provision of telepresence education programs, activation of virtual communities, implementation of hologram performance halls/exhibit centers, and provision of unmanned book delivery services, environment monitoring, safety monitoring, and customized services, were proposed. In addition, based on 5G service, 5G technology, and library application direction, advancing into a producing and supporting base for ultra-realistic and immersive contents in the 5G era, strengthening online and mobile services in the non-contact era, and establishing a smart library environment were proposed as the service provision direction for the National Library of Children and Young Adults in the 5G era.

우리 사회가 기하급수적으로 발달하고 있는데 학교는 사회의 발전 속도를 따라잡지 못하고 있으며, 학생들의 성장발달에 맞는 디지털 리터러시 교육을 하지 못하고 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 학교현장의 디지털 리터러시 교육의 실태와 문제점을 파악하여 디지털 리터러시 교육의 발전 방향을 모색하였다. 2015 교육과정이 운영되는 현재의 학교 실태를 파악하여 우리 학교가 나아갈 디지털 리터러시 교육의 발전 방향을 모색하였다. 첫째, 노후화된 디지털 기기를 교체하고, 학생 개인별로 노트북이나 스마트 기기를 제공하여야 하며, 학교 전체 어디서나 인터넷을 사용할 수 있어야 한다. 둘째, 교사들에게도 다양한 연수 기회를 제공하여 교사 수준에 맞는 디지털 리터러시 교육이 이루어져야 한다. 셋째, 논리적 사고를 표현할 수 있는 코딩교육, 문제를 발견하고 주어진 문제를 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 언어로 자동화하는 알고리즘 영역의 수준을 높이는 소프트웨어 교육이 이루어져야 하며, 그것을 작동해 볼 수 있는 로봇, 3D 프린터 등 디지털 교구가 충분하게 제공되어야 한다.

과학 기술 시대 평생교육은 국가의 교육정책의 한 방편으로 도입되면서 공적 지원이 어느 때 보다 확대되고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 과학 기술 시대에서의 평생교육의 방향을 탐색하는 데 있다. 과학 기술 시대 평생교육의 방향성을 결정하는데 다양한 요소들을 고려해야 하지만 본 연구에서는 주로 과학 기술 시대에 초점을 맞춘 방향성을 제시하면 첫째, 직업교육으로서 평생교육이 필요하며, 둘째, 디지털 심화 교육으로 평생교육이 필요하며. 셋째, 생태전환 관점에서 평생교육이 필요하다. 과학 기술 시대 평생교육의 방향은 이러한 세 가지 관점을 중요하게 생각하고 어떻게 평생교육이 구체적으로 이바지할 것인가에 대한 후속 논의가 있기를 기대한다.
