Graphing Calculator's Impact on Students' Exploration in Senior High School

  • In this paper we investigated the influence on school students when they use graphing calculator for exploration, including their experience of exploration, their ability and attitudes. After using graphing calculator based mathematics exploration course, two students were interviewed and 162 students who finished the course in these years were investigated. The results show that graphing calculator is a useful tool to develop students' explorative ability. Most of students had positive attitudes to and were interested in making use of graphing calculator.

  • The background and the existing problems in teaching of mathematics application were analyzed. Based on the mathematics knowledge which from the simple application, complicate application, and synthetically application to the mathematics modeling, the ability level test questions of mathematics application was worded out to help the teaching and learning in mathematics application.

  • We are taking advantage of the information and communications technology in every field of life at the moment. At this point of view, it is necessary to verify how the information technology performing properly in the education field. This paper is to analyze it and point out the problems in the significant programing study and map out the utilizing of Robot programing education based on the computer principle education. Therefore it is contributed to raise ingenuity, ability to think, problem-solving ability for the students as replacing old programing education with Robot programing education.

  • This research studied necessary digital Interior Design education and certification formality for Dept. of Interior Design students' percentage of employment raising and competitive power elevation of industry by the support of 2005 junior college finance support business from the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development. Contents of this research is built from joint research by vender of software, which has the highest distribution and preference rate of digital Interior Design related software in industry, and The Korea Digital Architecture and Interior Association, and Daeduk college. The necessary certification standard and course-ware for employment of graduates were developed. There are descriptions for students' needs on digital Interior Design related practical application ability that can receive authentication, And made out education schedule as well as contents so that execution of authentication and education may be possible.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of training Program for return farm. In detail, this study evaluated the trainees' satisfaction, achievement, and effectiveness of the education. This Study polled 250 trainees who presented the Return farm training program. The results of analysis are as follows; First, the satisfaction and the reliability on the educational institutions of return farm was the highest. Second, Trainees' replied that their Agricultural Techniques was improved. Especially, 'business administrative ability, cultivation techniques & management ability, and agricultural machinery using ability were enhanced. Their self-confidence of return farm was increased. Third, the correlation of satisfaction, achievement and effectiveness of training program was statistically significant. The findings of this study will be used to plan of return farm education program.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate effectiveness of the cyber home study to improve the self-directed learning ability. For this study, 21 middle school students took voluntarily part in the 4 weeks cyber home study in Wulsan teaching & learning center and 3 students were interviewed among them. The results of this study were as follows; First, the 4-weeks experimental cyber home study is shown to be effective for improving the self-directed learning ability, specialty for the intermediate and low level students, Second, it is shown that the cyber home study enable students to have positive attitude as well as interest and confidence in the mathematical learning.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects on STEAM education for intergrated science inquiry ability of high school students. The experimental and control group were 30 students, respectively. The STEAM program developed by a teacher study group was applied to the experimental group students for 6 months. The control group learned traditional methods. The results of this study showed that the intergrated science inquiry ability of experimental group students were increased positively(P<0.05). Also the abilities as hypothesis, defining variables, determining variables, operational definition and data interpretation improved affirmatively(P<0.05) except graphing.

  • This study has its purpose to diversify teaching and evaluation for college mathematics, moreover increasing students loaming ability, who dislike or have lower ability to study. Cooperation, level learning and various evaluation make students better reaction in 1999 first term than in 1996 first term. Also we hope more researches for this field could be syudied.
