This paper deals with the development and application of a 3D printing education program implemented to cultivate creative fusion-type talents required by the 4th Industrial Revolution. Specifically, the entire process developed by applying the ADDIE program development model, from 3D modeling to post-processing of printed materials, was performed individually and for each team for about 200 second-year college students for two weeks. Through this program, students develop the basic ability to apply 3D printing to the learning curriculum, the ability to solve problems through cooperative interactions between team members, and convergence thinking ability by collaborating within the team by students from various major fields. They are proved by analyzing an education satisfaction survey conducted after application of the program. In conclusion, the program of this paper presents a methodology for effective 3D printing education in universities.
This research aims to analyze the process of selecting, maintaining, and changing the method of learning mathematics by middle school students from the perspective of self-regulated learning ability, in order to help students to select a rational method of studying. For this purpose, we defined 'assisted-learning' as all kinds of education that education demanders receive to supplement their regular school studies. As results of the research, it was found as follows. First, the students with high self-regulated learning ability selected, maintained, and changed their assisted-learning based on their concrete decision and rational reasons regarding the effect of their learning process and assisted-learning to themselves. Second, the students with high self-regulated learning ability had tendency to be very active participation in class than the students with low ability. Third, the students with high self-regulated learning ability felt the effect of assisted-learning on their learning mathematics, and felt the enhancement of their interest and confidence. Also, it is notable that the students selected 'their own willingness to study' as a major factor for the success of assisted-learning.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of storytelling skill on science learning motivation and space perception ability. For this study the 5 grade, 2 class was divided into a research group and a comparative group. The class was pre-tested in order to ensure the same standard. The research group had the science class with storytelling skill, and the comparative group had the class with teacher centered lectures for 10 classes in 10 weeks. The storytelling skill was focused on finding stories, constellation searching, story deciding, story hero deciding, story composition, storytelling completion. To prove the effects of this study, science learning motivation was split up according to attention power, relation, confidence, and sense of satisfaction. Also, space perception ability consisted of two-dimensional rotation, 3 dimension rotations, reflection, three-dimensional searching, number of block, and figure type in pattern. The results of this study are as follows. First, using storytelling skill was effective in science learning motivation. Second, using storytelling skill was effective in space perception ability. Also, after using storytelling skill was good reaction by students. As a result, the elementary science class with storytelling skill had the effects of developing science learning motivation and space perception ability. it means the science class with storytelling skill has potential possibilities and value to develop science learning motivation and space perception ability.

In the advanced information age, learning is an activity in which learners access information resources through computers and Internet to acquire and evaluate information on their own. The emergence of an online learning platform based on the fourth industrial revolution technology is developing into an environment in which elementary and secondary learners learn and study based on constructivism learning theory. In the online learning environment, the researches on the information retrieval ability of the elementary and secondary learners and the self-directed learning ability were found to be highly related. However, it is necessary to analyze the relation between information retrieval ability and self-directed learning ability through a cross-sectional study that is limited to specific curriculum and contents and expands the longitudinal research. In this study, the panel data of the Seoul Education Longitudinal Study collected over 8 years are used to find the difference in self-directed learning ability according to the longitudinal pattern of information retrieval ability and frequency.
The purpose of the present study was to verify the structural relationship among metacognition, interactions, problem solving ability and achievement in gifted students through the 3P model. In this study, factors affecting the performance of gifted education are based on 3P(presage, precess. product) theory(Biggs, 2003). Participants attended a 174 gifted student in institutes for the gifted education in the city office of education in Korea. A hypothetical model was proposed, which was composed of metacognition and interactions as exogenous variables; and problem solving ability and achievement as endogenous variables. The results of this study are as follows: First, metacognition and interactions had significant effects on gifted students' problem solving ability. Second, problem solving ability had significant effects on gifted students' achievement. And problem solving ability was verified as a complete mediating variable between metacognition and achievement also interactions and achievement.
The purpose of this research is to find the effects of learner-centered instruction based on constructivism (LCIC) on their knowledge generation level and reasoning ability. To look for them, after fraction units are re-planed for implementing LCIC, instructions using it provide students in a class. From the data, some conclusions can be drawn as follows: LCIC has more positive influence of students on recall ability, generation ability, and reasoning ability than tractional instruction method. With the data it can be said that the interaction exists between learners' reasoning ability and generation level.
Many undergraduate engineering freshmen have difficulties in attending major courses due to their poor basic academic ability. Regardless of the university level it is a reality in universities all over the country. In order to solve the problems of poor learning and basic academic ability, in this study, students who want to major in mechanical engineering at A university, it was confirmed the effectiveness and surveyed the satisfaction with the questionnaire. The pre and post test results showed that the A group improved scores by 40.1% and the B group by 18.9%. Questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews conducted after the completion of the program. It showed that the basic learning ability achievement program was highly satisfied with the overall average of 90.6% (4.53/5.0) and an useful program which not only contributed to the interest in the major subjects and the confidence in the academic achievement but also build positive relationships between the student and professor.
In this paper, the effect of daily creativity of engineering students on problem-solving ability is addressed through the dual mediating effect of teamwork competency and self-directed learning ability. To this end, a regression-based statistical mediation analysis has been performed on the dual mediation model in which daily creativity and problem solving ability were treated as independent and dependent variables respectively, and teamwork competence and self-directed learning ability were included as mediation variables. The analysis result confirmed that the daily creativity has direct effect on the problem-solving ability, as well as indirect effects through teamwork competence and self-directed learning ability. In particular, the serial mediating effect of teamwork competency and self-directed learning ability was also confirmed to be statistically significant in the relationship between daily creativity and problem-solving ability. This verifies that problem-solving ability can be improved not only directly by improving daily creativity but also indirectly by improving teamwork competence and self-directed learning ability. In addition, teamwork competency showed greater indirect effect on problem-solving ability than self-directed learning ability, so increasing teamwork competency has a more significant effect on improving problem-solving ability than increasing self-directed learning ability. Therefore, in order to develop better problem-solving ability, it is necessary to identify and improve the learners' teamwork competency first and to strive to create an environment where learners can solve problems based on mutual trust with their teammates.
In this information-oriented society of the 21st century, our education should combine the knowledge from the past and present in order to have students be ready to solve “the problems in the future”. But nowadays, our social situation makes much importance of the “cramming” education just for the College Scholastic Ability Test rather than the “whole man” education for making creative citizens of the future society. So does mathematics education. In a high school, mathematics education should be toward these aims: recognizing the value of math, applying mathematical principles to actual lives, promoting students' thinking ability. Also, it should focus on teaching higher level of mathematical knowledge which includes more logical and abstract idea so that students can prepare for the global society of the future. This study is about development and utilization of the teaching materials for mathematics class which usually deviates from the routine right after the Scholastic Ability Test finished. These materials are the result of a complete survey of the 3rd graders and their teachers and designed to use for 30 periods of class from after-the-test-finished to graduation. The materials consist of a history of mathematics, puzzles, magic number squares, and so on. Remarkably different from the current textbooks which deal with sets, equations, functions, these materials proved to be useful for their variety and attraction. Consequently, the materials are considered to keep the 3rd graders from forgetting mathematics even after the Scholastic Ability Test, and to help them recognize that mathematics is a kind of basic and cultural study and a tool of daily lives.
As the population of senior citizens has been increasing very rapidly, the importance of their education is gradually emphasized. To maintain their mental and physical health, the solution on the biological, physical, and educational approach might be helpful and effective. Especially in the aspect of the educational approach, the mathematics education can be regarded as an important subject for keeping the seniors in a good mental health. The reason is that the ultimate goal of mathematics education is to pursue an enhancement of mathematical thinking ability. By the reason, this study aimed to develop mathematical materials for enhancing seniors' thinking ability, and the seniors usually belong to fifties and sixties. To this purpose, this study selected the six essential mathematical thinking elements and four mathematical domains of 'number and operation', 'shape and measurement', 'possibility', and 'patterns'. Based on these elements, the mathematical materials including the nine types of activities using games and commercial manipulatives were developed. On the subject of 52 female seniors, the instruction was conducted using a part of the materials during 100 minutes. Also, 13 survey items were developed beforehand, and the survey was implemented after the class, and eventually 48 seniors responded in the survey. As a result, it is meaningful to develop the materials not only for enhancing mathematical thinking ability but for understanding and utilizing the content of materials. Furthermore, it is requested that those materials be differentiated according to the degree or the difference of age, academic ability, and sex.
