LMS-based Edutech Teaching and Learning Platform Model Design Study (LMS 기반 에듀테크 교수학습 플랫폼 모형 설계 연구)

  • Purpose: This is a study to design an optimal Edutech teaching-learning platform model that can be linked with various types of LMS to activate e-learning. Methods: For this purpose, the contents of e-learning systems that can be used in the 4th industrial technology of cyber universities and general universities were cross-sectionally analyzed. Results: Cyber universities relied entirely on LMS, and general universities supplemented and utilized different Edutech methods for each professor such as Google Classroom, Zoom video communication, and YouTube in addition to LMS. It was considered that it would be meaningful to provide a minimal algorithm mapping to LMS to share metadata such as Google and YouTube for the Edutech teaching and learning platform model. Conclusion: Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to the improvement of teaching methods and academic achievement through the LMS-based Edutech teaching and learning platform model.

A Study on Fuzzy Searching Algorithm and Conditional-GAN for Crime Prediction System (범죄예측시스템에 대한 퍼지 탐색 알고리즘과 GAN 상태에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, artificial intelligence-based algorithms were proposed, which included a fuzzy search for matching suspects between current and historical crimes in order to obtain related cases in criminal history, as well as conditional generative adversarial networks for crime prediction system (CPS) using Timor-Leste as a case study. By comparing the data from the criminal records, the built algorithms transform witness descriptions in the form of sketches into realistic face images. The proposed algorithms and CPS's findings confirmed that they are useful for rapidly reducing both the time and successful duties of police officers in dealing with crimes. Since it is difficult to maintain social safety nets with inadequate human resources and budgets, the proposed implemented system would significantly assist in improving the criminal investigation process in Timor-Leste.

  • Recent advances in the 4th Industrial Revolution have accelerated the change of the working environment, such that the paradigm of education has been shifted in accordance with career education including the free semester system and the high school credit system. While the purpose of those systems is students' self-motivated career exploration, educational limitations for teachers and students exist due to the rapid change of the information on education. Also, education technology research to tackle these limitations is relatively insufficient. To this end, this study first defines three requirements that education technologies for the career education system should consider. Then, through data-driven artificial intelligence technology, this study proposes a data system and an artificial intelligence recommendation model that incorporates the topics for career exploration, courses, and majors in one scheme. Finally, this study demonstrates that the set-based artificial intelligence model shows satisfactory performances on recommending career education contents such as courses and majors, and further confirms that the actual application of this system in the educational field is acceptable.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the teaching and learning method using artificial intelligence (AI) in the mathematics classroom. To this end, to predict the direction of mathematics education using AI in the mathematics classroom, this study investigates the fields where AI is applied to education, and discuss issues to consider when introducing AI through scenario development using AI in middle school statistics. This study is meaningful in that it specifically considered how artificial intelligence can be grafted into the mathematics classroom through the development of scenarios that integrate and apply artificial intelligence that has been developed and used segmentally in the current middle school statistics. Afterwards, based on the contents of this study, implications for using AI in the math classroom were derived.

'Siri' and 'Bixby' installed in smartphones are also representative artificial intelligences that use the chatbot system. With the rapid development of chatbots, users in various fields have also begun to pay attention to the food service industry. As machine learning technology developed, it became possible to use more flexible conversations, and it soon expanded to the realm of education. Userㄴs interact through conversations with chatbots, and active interactions stimulate users' desires and at the same time have a positive effect on learning motivation. Recommendation system programs using chatbots not only recommend products according to users' preferences, but also provide various additional information. This study planned a program that combined the chatbot system and tourism service. The chatbot curator will develop into a form of inducing interest and curiosity to users through learning, and then facilitating the desire for tourism. The purpose of this study is to lay the foundation for a chatbot curator based on previous studies.

  • The Asynchronous indivisual learning offer advantages such as allowing learners to study at their preferred times without spatial constraints. However, since these classes are not conducted in real-time, there are limitations in conveying learners' feedback on problematic or inadequately explained course content to the instructors. This paper proposed a system for relaying feedback information from learners who view course content to the instructors. Learners can investigate the reasons for pausing online recorded class content, and they can transmit these pause reasons along with the time information of the paused content to the instructors. Instructors receive feedback information and pause times of learners' online recorded class videos in graphical form, making it easier to identify areas with numerous issues in the course content at a glance. Instructors can incorporate this feedback to re-upload the content, resulting in higher-quality course materials, which, in turn, can enhance learners' academic achievements.

Performance Evaluation of Multi-User Detectors Employing Subtractive Interference Cancellation Schemes for a DS-CDMA System (감산형 간섭제거기법을 적용한 DS-CDMA 다중사용자 검파기의 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we have analyzed the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of multi-user detectors employing SIC(Successive Interference Cancellation) and PIC (Parallel Interference Cancellation) which are the representative schemes in the subtractive interference cancellation. We have considered the MUD structure employing HIC (Hybrid Interference Cancellation) which combines SIC with PIC scheme, and then analyzed the BER performance. We have evaluated the BER performance of SIC and HIC schemes which execute the soft decision to generate the tentative data bit for the purpose of the interference cancellation in MAI and noise environments. Through the numerical analysis and computer simulation, it is shown that HIC can remove the effect of MAI more efficiently than the others, that improve the BER performance and increase the capacity of DS-CDMA systems regardless of the power control conditions. The reason is that the SIC scheme in front of HIC can solve the near-far problem caused by the imperfect power control and PIC scheme in the rear of it can improve the performance much more.

Mediating effect of Self-Leadership in relationship between College-Life Satisfaction and Academic Self-Efficacy of Beauty Major Chinese Students (미용전공 중국유학생의 대학생활만족도와 학업적 자기효능감의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과)

  • This study was conducted to find the mediating effect of self-leadership in the relationship between academic self-efficacy and college-life satisfaction of Chinese students majoring in beauty. Surveys were answered by 400 Chinese students from July to August 2019 and analyzed as follows. We used the SPSS22.0 program and Process macro for SPSS to analyze the frequency, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and bootstrap method. The results of the analysis showed a positive correlation among the college-life satisfaction, self-leadership, and academic self-efficacy of Chinese students, and self-leadership acted as a partially mediating variable between academic self-efficacy and college-life satisfaction. Therefore, it was found that a higher college-life satisfaction and self-leadership resulted in a higher academic self-efficacy. Based on these results, in order to alleviate the problems of college life maladjustment and low learning efficiency of Chinese students majoring in beauty, the development of self-leadership education programs is becoming more important. This must be emphasized in the Edu-Tech era due to the need for customized education programs for international students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • This study proposes a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) program for career exploration of middle school students. The proposed program utilizes VR (Virtual Reality) for new digital technology and webtoon as a popular cultural element. It enables the students to investigate promising fields and experience them virtually for themselves. We design the program based on the 2015 revised curriculum, which enhances the learning effects with existing subjects. In particular, the program provides a hybrid education to combine contact and untact classes considering the COVID-19 situation. The educational goal of the proposed program is to improve creativity and convergence capability. Specifically, it aims to prepare an educational foundation that integrates new digital technologies into education and applies the programs to school education fields. To prove the effectiveness of the developed program, we applied the program to the second graders of A middle school located in Seoul. We expect that the proposed program helps students learn how to utilize new digital technologies and explore future career paths.
