  • In this study, we examine why there exist different legal systems in electronic commerce or online financial trading. When a fraud online transaction occurs and the online customer disputes the transaction, the online customer takes responsibility for the proof of her/his argument in many European countries while in the U.S., the burden of proof lays on the firm. This paper analyzes how these two different legal systems exist and how these can be applied to electronic commerce law. In particular, this paper intends to find the optimal level of e-commerce firms' investment on security and analyzes how security investments can be related to firm's profits and consumer's welfare depending on IT infrastructure and social trust environment. More on, this paper can be contributed to provide guidelines for regulatory framework on ecommerce online transactions and discuss social welfare implications.

Optical Constants and Dispersion Parameters of CdS Thin Film Prepared by Chemical Bath Deposition

  • CdS thin film was prepared on glass substrate by chemical bath deposition in an alkaline solution. The optical properties of CdS thin film were investigated using spectroscopic ellipsometry. The real (${\varepsilon}_1$) and imaginary (${\varepsilon}_2$) parts of the complex dielectric function ${\varepsilon}(E)={\varepsilon}_1(E)+i{\varepsilon}_2(E)$, the refractive index n(E), and the extinction coefficient k(E) of CdS thin film were obtained from spectroscopic ellipsometry. The normal-incidence reflectivity R(E) and absorption coefficient ${\alpha}(E)$ of CdS thin film were obtained using the refractive index and extinction coefficient. The critical points $E_0$ and $E_1$ of CdS thin film were shown in spectra of the dielectric function and optical constants of refractive index, extinction coefficient, normal-incidence reflectivity, and absorption coefficient. The dispersion of refractive index was analyzed by the Wemple-DiDomenico single-oscillator model.

  • Global e-Trade system which electronically processes all trade transactions of trading companies is an essential platform where export and import firms enhance international competitiveness. This study is to develop research models suitable for e-Trade and empirically analyze them in order to examine and verify factors affecting e-Trade system of trading companies on the basis of previously-verified studies on global e-Trade such as TAM, TOE, and Task-Technology Fit Model(TTF). Among many factors, this paper comprehensively analyzes an acceptance factor, which is one of the factors affecting the implementation and performance of e-Trade, from the technological, organizational, and environmental context. The finding from this paper will be applied to e-Trade projects carried out by the government in the future by analyzing the correlation between acceptance and performance.

Sharing e-Learning Object Metadata Using ebXML Registries for Semantic Grid Computing

  • To facilitate the processes of e-learning resource description, discovery and reuse, e-learning objects should be appropriately described and classified using standard metadata that need to be published in a registry to reduce duplication of effort and enhance semantic interoperability. This paper describes how standard ebXML registries can be used for semantic grid computing for annotating, storing, discovering and retrieving e-learning object metadata. For semantic annotation of e-learning objects, IEEE Learning Object Metadata (LOM) is adopted as the metadata ontology. In order to support the e-learning metadata ontology in interoperable ebXML registries, a mapping scheme between LOM and ebXML Registry Information Model (RIM) is proposed. The usefulness of sharing e-learning object metadata is demonstrated by prototyping a semantic registry based on the scheme.

  • This paper proposes a design procedure based on the LQG/LTR (Linear Quadratic Gaussian/ Loop Transfer Recovery) method for a launch vehicle. Continuous-discrete type LQG/LTR compensators are designed using the e-transformation to overcome numerical problems occurring in the process of discretization. The e-LQG/LTR compensator using the e-transformation is compared width the z-LQG/LTR compensator using the z-transformation. The performance of the overall system controlled by the compensator is evaluated via simulations, which show that the discretization error problem is resolved and the control performances are satisfactory in the proposed compensator.

  • The B2B e-commerce assurance system supports e-commerce purchases by Credit Guarantee Fund. This process seeks to replace a variety of current systems, including B2C, the credit card payment method on B2B, 2001 Credit Guarantee Fund and the Bank, logistics, e-MP (Market Place), and Business-to-business e-MP (business-to-business electronic payment settlement system). Over the past 10 years of its operation, the e-MP service (B2B e-commerce electronic payment systems) has contributed much to the growth of SMEs. The development of business-to-business e-commerce transactions systems and limits have provided a stable purchasing platform, improving corporate competitiveness. However. the project-based scale of credit guarantee institutions has limitations. To overcome these limitations, we propose a new model of direct or indirect government support for small business e-MP projects. This new model will support the B2B electronic commerce by allowing it to directly involve guarantee institutions directly in B2B online transactions. Therefore, this study urges government backing of the SME based B2B online business model with e-MP service.

  • Today's computing system has expanded its application to business trade and distributed work transactions using the Internet. As the demand for more flexible, adaptable, extensible, and robust web-based enterprise, these application development has been gradually expanded based on reusable, independent, and portable components. Component Based Development (CBD) works by developing and evolving software from selected reusable software components and then assembling them within appropriate software architecture. However, it requires an increase in cost to build new components as well as the necessary effort to develop of the business requirement these components. Standardized component models are required as well from the perspective of systems in order to support rapid and exact component information transmission on the web. In this paper, we describe the e-Business Component Development with agent for rapid application development on the web that correspond to the demands of users in the business domain. We design and implement the specifications of e-business components by combining these demands. In order to improve the agent register and retrieval, we propose the intelligent search and register agents, which can conduct more precise searching and specializing for components. The system enables the locating of user's frequently used components through an agent involving register and retrieval, as well as rapid procedures for registers The e-BCOS (e-Business Component System) is the agent system for the user to register distributed components and to search for components Information. The e-BCOS increases reusability through the e-business component development of distributed components in the business domain. For the share and delivery, specification with XML is acceptable to user's variable order e-BCOS Includes the effective investment, timeliness, reliability, efficiency, and maintenance effort by with agent.

  • In this paper, we have designed and implemented an E-Book Exchange System which is based on the Open E-Book Exchange protocol of Open E-book forum. The ebook is described digital contents composed of variable media and should require secured ebook server for copyright guarantee. Also, contents manufactures, circulation company, and user must access the ebook contents easily. So, Linux-based ebook server and reader can satisfy this requirements. Therefore, this research has developed Linux-based ebook server and reader which is cost-effective.

  • The use electron-beam(E-beam) manufacturing system provides a means to alleviate optic exposure equipment's problems. We are developing an E-beam manufacturing system with scanning electron microscope(SEM) function. The E-beam manufacturing system consist of high voltage generator, beam blanker, condenser lenses, object lenses, stigmator and stage. The development of E-beam manufacturing system is used on the method of remaking SEM's structure. The functions of SEM are developed. It is important for the test of E-beam performance. In E-beam manufacturing system and SEM, beam focus is important function. In this paper, we propose intelligent remote control function for beam focus in E-beam manufacturing system. The function extends the user's function and gives convenience.

  • $Moire\'{e}$ interferometry is a useful technique to assess the reliability of electronic package because $Moire\'{e}$ interferometry can measure the whole-field and real-time deformations. The shear strain of a small crack site is important to the reliability assessment of electronic package. The optical limitation of $Moire\'{e}$ interferometry makes ambiguous the shear strain of a small area. An atomic force microscope (AFM) is used to measure the profile of a micro site. High resolution of AFM can apply to the $Moire\'{e}$ technique. AFM $Moire\'{e}$ technique is useful to measure the shear strain of a small area. In this research, the method to accurately measure the deformation of a small area by using AFM $Moire\'{e}$ is proposed. A phase-shifting method is applied to improve the resolution of AFM $Moire\'{e}$.
