The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare Korean middle school-level environmental education(EE) textbooks. More specifically, these analyses and comparisons were designed to explore the extent to which environmental investigation skills were addressed in these EE textbooks (i.e., curriculum inclusion), as well as the manner in which these skills were to be taught and learned (i.e., instructional approaches). To analyze EE textbooks, the researchers developed a 'Curriculum Analysis Chart' that include six skill clusters and four instructional strategies. This analytic chart permitted the researchers to determine which skills were featured in selected textbooks, as well as which skill-oriented instructional strategies accompanied each of those skills. The chart was revised several times through pilot analyses. Using the final version of this chart, the researchers analyzed and then compared the three textbooks. This analysis indicated that the Korean middle school-level EE textbooks were designed to support conceptual learning and understanding of environment and environmental problems/issues (i.e., content-oriented), and were designed to support skill learning to a moderate degree. On the basis of textbooks analysis, the researchers offered several recommendations for future research, and for educational practices in EE.

일반적으로 대학생들은 연간 약 50만원이 소요되는 전공 서적 구매비용에 부담감이 있는 것으로 조사된다. 이러한 대학생들을 위해 비교적 저렴한 교재용 전자책 서비스를 전문적으로 제공해 주는 애플리케이션이 없다. 본 논문에서는 대학생들을 위한 전공 및 교양 교재를 대상으로 대여를 포함한 전자책 제공 서비스가 가능한 모바일 앱을 설계한다. 제시하는 서비스 앱은 교재용 전자책을 대상으로 온라인 서점, 출판사, 도선관 등으로부터 전자책 정보를 수집하여 사용자에게 제공하고, 이를 대상으로 대여 또는 구매가 가능한 서비스를 제공한다. 제공되는 전자책 파일은 불법 배포를 방지하기 위해 DRM 방식을 사용하여 전용 뷰어를 통해 제공되어지도록 설계한다. 개발되는 앱을 통해서 대학생이 겪는 문제 중 하나인 교재비용 경감과 더불어, 종이책 생산을 줄임으로써 지구환경 보존에 기여할 수 있다.

Introduction of logarithm in mathematics textbook in the 7th national curriculum of mathematics is the inverse of exponent. This introduction is happened that students don't know the necessity for learning logarithm and the meaning of logarithm. Students also have solved many problems of logarithm by rote. Therefore, we try to present teaching unit for the logarithm according to the historico-genetic principle. We developed the learning-teaching module of unit for the logarithm according to historico-genetic principle, especially reinvention for real contexts based RME. Loaming-teaching module is carried out as the performance assessment. As a results, We find out that this module helps students understand concepts of logarithm meaningfully Also, mathematical errors of logarithm is revised after the application of learning-teaching module.

As Information & Communication Technology is developed in fast speed, the educational field undertakes many changes in utilizing Information Technology(IT). As the smart phone's educational utilization brings many positive effects, so many people are interested in such educational application programs. The e-textbooks or learning contents based on the web have shown some limits in being utilized as main learning materials in school field. So this study identified such limits, and suggested a new direction for professional education by integrating mobile and QR code technologies with existing textbooks to realize a new book-type E-Textbook model. And this study purposed for students to participate in their classes more easily through making open-education environment for students studying specialized subjects and by applying new teaching-learning methods inducing more interest in them. Of course, this study's ultimate purpose is to raise students' learning ability about specialized subjects, and further, to improve their self-directed learning abilities with increased interests in classes. As the result operating this model, it was found that this model had enough learning effect.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of essay writing-centered mathematics instruction on problem solving and mathematical deposition in the elementary school. For the present study, two 6th grade classes with equivalent achievement in terms of problem solving and mathematical disposition based on the pretest. A total of 15 mathematics lessons focused on writing activities were administered to the experiment group for two months, while the textbook-based traditional lessons were given to the comparison group. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were adopted to analyze the data. The results of the present study showed that essay writing-centered mathematics teaching is statistically superior that the textbook-based mathematics teaching with respect to students' problem solving and mathematical disposition. In addition, it was evidenced that essay writing-centered mathematics instruction makes an influence on students' perceptions toward essay-based assessment in a positive way.

The study is designed to develop a educational basic pants patterns for men, and has been analyzed focusing on the university textbooks published since 2000. We also used CAD programs and virtual fitting programs to analyze the fitness of pants. To do this purpose, after choosing 7 Men's Wear textbooks, selected patterns were drawn and measured using PAD system and were compared and analyzed. Also, the appearance evaluation was examined through virtual fitting and then evaluated 21 male and female university students in their 20s. After supplementing the problems of the patterns in the existing textbooks, a pattern was developed and verified the fitness of the developed pattern. The results of comparing the proposed measurement items of each textbook for the pants pattern indicated a significant differences in terms of hip circumference of each pattern, which were between 96~105cm. A comparison of the drafting methods of each pattern showed the drafting methods for the crotch length, the front crotch extension, the back crotch extension were the difference. The results of appearance evaluation were pattern E presented the slimmest fit and pattern D presented the loosest fit. As a result of analysis of pants pattern, a waist circumference 82cm, a hip circumference 98cm, a crotch length 24cm, a pants length 104cm and a ham line width 46cm were most suitable. The development pattern was evaluated as superior to the existing pattern through the appearance evaluation of the virtual fitting.

We extracted core terms by constructing scientific item networks from textbooks, analyzing their structures, and investigating the connected information and their relationships. For this research, we chose three high-school textbooks from different publishers for each three subjects, i.e, Science, Biology I and Biology II, to construct networks by linking scientific items in each sentence, where used items were regarded as nodes. Scientific item networks from all textbooks showed scare-free character. When core networks were established by applying k-core algorithm which is one of generally used methods for removing lesser weighted nodes and links from complex network, they showed the modular structure. Science textbooks formed four main modules of physics, chemistry, biology and earth science, while Biology I and Biology II textbooks revealed core networks composed of more detailed specific items in each field. These findings demonstrate the structural characteristics of networks in textbooks, and suggest core scientific items helpful for students' understanding of concept in Science and Biology.

Since modern mathematics textbooks were introduced in the late 19th century Korea, arithmetic experts started to teach modern mathematics using Arabic numerals at village schools and churches. After the Gabo Education Reform of 1894, western mathematics education was included in public education and the mathematics textbooks began to be officially published. We explored most of Korean mathematics textbooks from 1895 to 2016 including the changes of mathematics curriculum through 1885-1905, 1905-1910, 1911-1945, 1945-1948, 1948-1953, 1954-1999, and 2000-2016. This study presents the characters of modern mathematics textbooks of Korea since 1885.

The era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution calls for creativity - convergence talent. In addition to having mathematical knowledge, they can create new technologies by linking them to other fields. This social trend is also reflected in the 2015 revised curriculum, and plans to further expand the STEAM education emphasized since 2011. Many teachers who had previous experience with STEAM training were satisfied with the STEAM teaching effectiveness. However, the reality is that the lack of expertise in other subjects is causing a burden on the ongoing implementation of convergence education. One way to alleviate these teachers' burden is to find the STEAM elements and then apply. Since the convergence education is required continuously, it is necessary to analyze the textbook according to the 2015 curriculum. In this study, we examined how the elements of the STEAM were apply in 7th grade textbooks. Based on the classification framework proposed by Yakman (2008), a new classification framework was devised and applied to the analysis.

The purpose of this study is to explore alternative ways of teaching derivatives in a way that emphasizes intuition. For this purpose, the contents related to derivatives in Korean curriculum and textbooks were analyzed by comparing with contents in Singapore Curriculum and textbooks. Singapore, where the curriculum deals with derivatives relatively earlier than Korea, introduces the concept of derivatives and differentiation as the slope of tangent instead of the rate of instantaneous change in textbook. Also, Singapore use technology and inductive extrapolation to emphasize intuition rather than form and logic. Further, from the results of the exploration of other foreign cases, we confirm that the UK and Australia also emphasized intuition in teaching derivatives and differentiation. Based on the results, we discuss the meaning and implication of introducing derivatives and teaching differentiation in a way that emphasizes intuition. Finally, we propose the implications for the alternative way of teaching differentiation.
