  • In order to identify effective approaches for creating more viral Facebook posts, this research conducted an empirical content analysis of leading Korean brands' Facebook fan-pages (Samsung Mobile, SK Telecom, Kia Motors, and POSCO). Their distinctive visual storytelling and communication patterns were investigated as effective user engagement triggers. Through analysis of the research results, it was statistically proved that the different industrial attributes of the four brands, which are primarily characterized by their product (or service) types, affect their Facebook posting patterns by showing different engaging rates (measured by like, comment, and share metrics). In addition, the user engagement rates of the posts were influenced by their visual storytelling factors (i.e. ad objective, value scale, and visual media types). In line with these statistical findings, the distinctive visual storytelling strategies of the four brands were identified. Moreover, competitive and uncompetitive visual storytelling tactics were suggested according to the ad objectives and visual media types on Facebook.

As many people became interested in digital storytelling lately, many theoretical researches about game storytelling are being made in varied aspects. However, systematic methodology to educate game storytellers still remains in theoretic level, so that we can hardly find the outputs brought by the fusion of practical and theoretical knowledges. In this paper, I made a list of 4 core e1ements(character, event, world view, interactive factors of game) which construct the narratives of games to elevate the quality of practical game storytelling. The goal of this research is to complete the practical information list in detail, in order to deliver storytellers' creative ideas precisely to the game designers in every parts.

  • In literature it is not only the meaning of words which matters, but also their texture matters i.e. their rhythm, colour and style are relevant and none of these natures can be reduced to an item of information. The texture is also important in film languages, especially the rhythm. In order to make the storytelling rhythm visible, a new concept of 'the Rhythm Chart Analysis Method (RCAM)' has been devised in this research and used for analysis. By analyzing original films and remakes in Korean and Chinese, one can find out that different countries have different storytelling rhythms i.e. the same story can be told in different rhythms. The central idea in Korean films is portrayed at the end, which is a typical characteristic of Korean films. And as the defining moment does not occur suddenly the audience can naturally get immersed into the story. But Chinese films communicate with the audience in a more direct way. It directly mentions characteristics of each actor in such a way that it is telling rather than showing. The information of the movie is given to the audience in the initial stages of the movie. Rhythm is as important as story and information. And through this we can find out the cultural differences from the different storytelling rhythms.

  • This study will be an exploratory study from the perspective of IWOM on the intention of word-of-mouth transmission. And based on 256 questionnaire survey data of E-Commerce live broadcast consumers, structural equation modeling is used to explore the paths and mechanisms of influence of consumers' perceived IWOM and perceived value on oral transmission intention in China's E-Commerce live broadcast. The results found that consumers' perceived IWOM had a positive effect on perceived usefulness and perceived entertainment, and that perceived usefulness had a positive effect on purchase intention while perceived entertainment had no direct effect on word-of-mouth transmission intention. Perceived IWOM also indirectly influences willingness to pass on word-of-mouth by affecting perceived value. Among them, the mediating effect of perceived usefulness in the path of perceived network influence on word-of-mouth transmission intention is greater than that of perceived entertainment.
