This paper considers some significances and limitations in application of Rawls' liberal theory of justice to conceptualization of environmental and ecological justice. It first reviews Rawls' liberal theory of justice, then examines how his theory of justice considers natural resources and can be applied to develop distributive theory of environmental justice, and finally explores what kinds of problems would be generated when Rawls' theory of justice is to be extended to animals and other natural components. In Rawls' theory of justice the status of natural resources is described as a objective condition for justice, but it is argued that natural resources should be seen as a substantial component of just production and distribution. It also can be stressed that his theory of justice does not secure a just result of resource distribution, even though it has a great significance for just procedure of distribution. Finally, it seems hardly possible to extend Rawls' theory of justice to animals and other natural components to develop a Rawlsian theory of ecological justice, because liberalism and Western tradition of science on the basis of which Rawls' theory of justice has developed presuppose an ontological dualism of human beings and other natural components, and hence cannot recognize the inherent value of nature.

The purposes of this study were to investigate Korean parents' perception on nature versus nurture and to examine the dualism in the mechanism of human development. For this goal, the present study used the Korean proverbs about child development and education as a measurement scale for developmental values. This study 1) examined the degree of agreement on the proverbs, 2) analysed the differences in the degree of agreement as the subject's socio-demographic variables, and 3) compared agreement scores as the topic of proverbs. The participants of the study were 608 parents. As the first result, the agreement scores between nature and nurture proverbs were very similar, whereas the agreement score of the importance of education proverbs was relatively higher. Second, there were some differences in related socio-economic variables as the topic of proverbs. Especially, it was revealed that the participants had some different beliefs in the nurture as their age and in the importance of education as their sex. Third, there was no significant difference between the agreement scores of nature and nurture proverbs. From these results, it seems that the interactionism between nature and nurture is generally accepted by Korean parents, and child education is a very important belief.

Multiculturism is the movement that began to arise in the academic world of America and the literary world form the close of 1980's in accepting the variety of culture and regarding the culture with the more balanced and wide view and just as it is, it means the attitude of accepting one or more cultures of variely and the position of taking interest in the culture of minority race not the culture of a governing race. It is the fashion of feminism adapts dualism like unisex, androgynous look, etc of bisexual lendency in the 1980's, it shows new style with crossover of liberal sense because there is not the difference of sex in fashion. The eco-feminism pursues the natural sexuality not being instrumental and dismantling and expressed it in the Gender expression of an integrated human being. The trend of ethnic fashion in the close of 20th century is that the element of hippie is working so strongly. By adding embroidery of Oriental style, accessories of Indian style, feathers, beads, a hempen hood to the ethnic costumes of Asia and Latin, is shows the figure of ethnic hippie. As the cycler fashion is the future clothes through technology of computer, it uses a cool glass material bringing up the image of a spacesuit in order to expresses cyber image through artificial color combination of sheen colors, Though this techno-color fashion has established the fresh stimulation and the innovative aspect with ultramodern materials and image of futurism, it transmits a hope of estranged people and the natural elements. Hybride means a cross and mixture of animal and plant in Korean and is also called fusion. The phenomenon of hybrid predicts to comes the period of a cross and variation because something completely new comes into the world by contamination, mixture and compromise through meeting something different each other and it has on advantage of developing something existing to one more stage. It is prospected that in the society of 21st century, the borderline of traditional gender will be disappeared, variety and individuality will determine the individual behavior, and the masculine value will be substituted by feminine value. In the society giving priority to feminine value, a fashion stuck closely to women is what must reflect lives of woman under the proposition of woman's beauty, being on original function. So, it is considered that a fashion with added convenience and practicality having the function which is easy to put on, comfortable to act, able to express solves so much, and able to show various appearances according to T.P.O will get into the spotlight.

Plato's ontology is closer to Holism, which is based on IDEA, than to Dualism, which regards the matter and soul as being independently from each other. According to his metaphysics, the sensory things are the copies of IDEA. and IDEA is the original of them. Hence human body and soul are not separate from each other, but are ontologically continuous and functionally complementary. The reason why Plato's view of education, which pursues the perfection of the soul, emphasizes the physical training and makes it the premise of study is this ontology. It seems that Park Eun-sik, an independent activist in the late period of Joseon Dynasty, has a view of education similar to Plato's. He emphasized the importance of education on martial art in order to restore the our people's inner quality, 'Mind(心)'. Both Plato and Park Eun-sik thoughts that the education of physical training and martial art was the premise of study to make the humanity they pursued. And they expected that the talented people raised through the curriculum proposed by them would lead the prosperity of the nation by fulfilling their respective roles in society. In conclusion, from the view of Plato and Park Eun-sik's thoughts, it can be said that, the education of physical training and martial art for students is the premise of the study for personal perfection of human beings, and essential curriculum for making the ideal state that they dreamed.

This study was designed to investigate the effects of pyroligneous liquor on lipid metaboilsm in serum of SPF/VAF Cri/Bgi CD rats. Male CD rats were fed basic diet prepared in our Lab., and PL-0 (control), PL-1, PL-25, PL-50, PL-75 groups were prepared with pyroligneous liquor (35% of Choa Co. Ltd.) of 0%, 1%, 25%, 50% and 75% in purified water per day for 8 weeks. Body weights and food intakes almost did not change in these five groups, and triglyceride (TG) levels were significantly decreased (20.5% and 19.5%, respectively) in these PL-25 and PL-50 groups compared with control group. Total and LDL-cholesterol levels were markedly decreased (20.7%, 16.3% and 20.3%, 116.9%, respectively) in these PL-25 and PL-50% groups, but HDL-cholesterol levels were significantly increased about 36.4% and 25.5% in serum of PL-25 and PL-50 groups compared with control group. Atherogenic indices were also remarkedly decreased (63.0%, and 50%, respectively) in these PL-25 and PL-50 groups compared with control group. These results suggest that long term administration orally of pyroligneous liquor in 25 to 50% may inhibit chronic degenerative disease through improving of lipid metabolism of lower TG & LDL-cholesterol and higher HDL-cholesterol, and lower AJ.

To effectively and quickly respond to new forms of terrorism, a more organically integrated and coordinated system will be needed. As establishing the grounds of such a system based on laws would be most in congruence with legalism, it would be desirable to fundamentally establish an antiterrorism act. However, enactment of such counter-terrorism laws must be accomplished by means with which human rights violations against citizens may be minimized, contrary to what has been the case with third world nations. The act will need to include clauses that may relieve organizations, such as national human rights committees or citizen groups, of concerns over potential human rights violations. To address vulnerabilities of investigative rights issues which relate to cases relevant to acts of terrorism being delegated to the National Intelligence Service, the investigative jurisdiction shall be assigned to the public prosecutors and law enforcement officials as with other criminal proceedings. As for public concern that establishing the Anti-Terrorism Center under the National Intelligence Service, a secret service agency, may infringe upon human rights, functional and organizational dualism of the Anti -terrorism Center would be worth taking into account.

Current neuroscience views the mind-body problem from the monistic perspective which claims that the human mind is the result of brain activity and that the mind shuts down when the brain does. However, a considerable number of lay people still believe in the existence of the soul and the afterlife, concepts that are hard to explain from the monistic perspective. This study examines whether lay people think that the mind of the dead is capable of exceeding the physical constraints if they believe that such mind exists. After reading one of three vignettes which describes the state of the protagonist as alive, dead, or brain dead, the participants evaluated the protagonist's general mental capacity and transcendental ability to obtain new information. The participants rated that the dead protagonist had more 'transcendental ability to obtain new information' than the alive one if they evaluated high general mental capacity to the protagonist. In addition, unlike the alive condition, in the dead and the brain dead condition, there was a correlation between the general mind capacity rating and the transcendental ability rating. The results suggest that lay people expect the mind of the alive and the dead to be different, as they believe the latter's general mind capacity connotes transcendental ability. We also found that the participants' religiosity affected their beliefs about the transcendental ability of dead person.

Investigation for industrial revolution has been recognized as an important issue of historical science, since industrial revolution itself was a historical moment in modern economic society and in the forming of modern capitalistic culture. If clothing culture had been developed in close relation to social culture. industrial revolution which gave a base for modern capitalistic culture, would be a birth of modern clothing as well as a moment for modernization of western clothing. As it takes for granted that industrial revolution, historical phenomenon is a developmental base of modern clothing culture. This study tried to enlighten the origin of modern clothing culture phenomenon with investigation of industrial revolution as a historical moment in modern clothing culture through documental study. Historian's point of view and method of studying are important when we investigate the clothing phenomenon. Although culture phenomenon of industrial revolution has been evaluated usually through socialogical aspect, studying for clothing culture phenomenon must be carried out on aethetical as well as well as sociological aspect, on account of dualism of clothing, as it is social and artistic nature. In 19th century, there were technical improvement, changing patterns of production, changing social relation and beginning of mass culture. At the same time clothing culture phenomenon was changed in relation to modern capitalistic society. The findings of the study could be summarized as follows. 1. Technical improvement in textile industry and fitting process brought about mechanization of clothing industry. 2. Appearance of popular clothing culture made it easy to spread to various classes of society. 3. Development of transportation system and communication channel made it internationalization of western clothing. 4. Recognition of importance in functional style of clothing. 5. The pursuit of modern aesthetics made rapid changing mode of clothing. Above distinctive features of modern clothing culture were derived from by-product of machinary culture, mass culture, internationalism, rapidly changing mode of various culture during industrial revolution. Industrial revolution was a change of the material world as well as in industry owing to machine advent, then the culture part that displayed directly these changes was the plastic arts of living that mould the material. The problem of clothing construction caused by industrial revolution was solved by pursuing the functional aesthetics. Clothing phenomenon as a process of value transfer participates mass culture in closs relation to general change of various culture caused by industrial revolution. Therefore western clothing gained the qualities of modern culture, condensed as function, and popularity in the process of modernization.

최근 관심이 증대되고 있는 국토모니터링과 관련하여 기존의 SPOT, IRS, KOMPSAT, LANDSAT 등의 중ㆍ저해상도 위성영상과 IKONOS 등의 고해상도 위성영상을 이용하여 국토의 변화를 탐지하고자 하는 시도가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이 때 영상의 기하보정은 필수적인 과정이며 영상의 기하보정시 기준점을 취득하는 과정에 많은 시간과 작업비용이 소요된다. 현재 기준점 취득은 수치지도 등을 통해 기존의 지상기준점을 이용하는 방법과 GPS를 이용한 현지 측량방법이 활용되고 있는데 동일지역에 대해 매번 사업 때마다 수행되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 이러한 과정을 보다 효율적으로 수행하기 위한 하나의 방안으로 본 연구에서는 image chip을 이용하여 GCP를 취득하고 이를 데이터베이스로 구축하여 기존의 작업을 자동화, 체계화하고자 하였다. 이를 통하여 중복측량 방지와 데이터의 균질성을 기할 수 있었다. Image Chip의 영상 정합을 위해서는 상관계수법과 최소제곱정합법을 이용하여 부영상소 단위까지 정합결과를 얻을 수 있었으며 위성의 header 정보로부터의 영상의 표정각과 입사각에 대한 정보를 이용하여 축척과 회전요소를 고려함으로써 영상 정합시 보다 정확한 기준점 정보를 취득할 수 있었다. 또한, 이종 센서간 영상정합 가능성에 대해서 연구한 결과 KOMPSAT과 SPOT간에는 신뢰할 만한 수준의 정합 결과를 얻을 수 있었으나 고해상도 영상의 경우에는 항공사진과 IKONOS의 영상 정합시 센서의 방사학적 특성의 차이로 신뢰할 안한 결과를 얻을 수 없었다. 영상 정합시 정확도에 영향을 미치는 인자들에 관한 실험 결과 센서의 파장, 계절, Chip 영상의 크기 등이 큰 영향을 미쳤으며 영상정합을 위해 영상 GCP를 데이터베이스에서 검색할 때 이에 대한 고려가 우선적으로 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.n of hub-and-spoke system, integration of logistics bases, introduction of (automatic) parking building, diversification of transportation mode, and etc. At the same time, we constructed three practically executable scenarios based on those ideas. Neurobiological approach helps to resolve the mind-body dualism and develop new assessment and treatment approaches in psychiatry. However, it could be a problem to place too much emphasis on certain aspects of neurobiology, specifically structural neuroanatomy, because of the complexity or comorbidity of neuropsychiatric disorders. Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), for instance, is generally related to problems in motor skills and this movement disability is often related to perception. One account, two visual systems theory, relied on functional distinction in brain; ventral stream is responsible for visual recognition, and dorsal stream is responsible for the guidance of actions. However, Studies are now showing that shape perception is relevant to visually guided action, such as reaching-to-grasp an object. In this article, I reviewed fundamental findings of two-visual system theory and suggested problems of visually guided action to consider what shape perception implies for the two visual systems. Questions raised highlight possible limitations of adopting a structural neuroanatomical approach to account for perception and action effects, and by extent related psychiatric conditions such as DCD. In conclusion, neurobiological approach converging to neuropsychiatry, while useful, would be limited if it focuses too much on anatomical distinction.
